Chapter 16: Checkmate

(ZAYNS POV)

After everyone bought their subway, we ran home (yeah, ran. We both didn't have a car With us).

"Let's watch a mooooovie." Louis said as bounced up and down with excitement.

"You say he's the oldest?" Kayla whispered to me. I stifled a laugh.

"Haha...yeah." I replied softly.

"Good idea!" Harry sided with Louis. Niall and Liam nodded as well. Kayla shrugged and agreed, leaving only me to decide.

"I guess so..." I mumbled. "as long as it isn't a scary movie." I added. Even though I try really hard to look like a bad boy, scary movies give me nightmares. Don't judge. Kayla quickly agreed with me, making me feel a bit better.

"Comedyyy!" Louis screamed, picking a random comedy movie from his suitcase.

"You brought a random movie?" Kayla raised an eyebrow.

"You'd be surprised what Louis brings." Liam smiled. It's true...Louis is quite random. Niall went to the kitchen to make popcorn (despite the fact we ate like 10 minutes ago), while Louis pushed the movie into the small television. The movie started, and everyone squished onto the couch. It was super big, so we all somehow managed to fit.

I was squished up next to Kayla, and I have to say I didn't really mind. The movie started, and before long we were all doubled over in laughter. Kaylas laugh was beautiful...like chiming bells. She smiled as she leaned back against me.

"Sorry Zayn, Liam took my spot." she said. I honestly didn't mind. Her hair smelled of strawberries as she leaned onto me, giggling at the movie. Trying to get rid of my feelings for her is NOT going to be easy.
