22:42, 2 September 2024Jules sat down on her bed, drying her hair from the shower. Her mother had gone to bed leaving Jules to her own devices, the girl was probably going to do some homework or just doomscroll until she was tired. Jules couldn't help but think about today, maybe Miguel was right and they should've said something? She put down the towel.
Johnny was a little rough around the edges but he didn't need to be so mean. She hoped that Miguel's talk got through to him. A ding from her phone pulled the girl away from her thoughts. Jules quickly reached out and grabbed her phone, her eyebrows furrowed seeing a random text.
Robby: Hey is this Julie? It's Robby
The girl caught herself smiling, and she shook her head. Jules barely knew this guy, she couldn't fall for him this fast but there was something about him that she really liked. She quickly typed out a response and sent it to the boy.
Jules: How'd you get my number? Are you stalking me?
Robby: It wasn't that hard I just asked around
Jules: AKA Daniel
Robby: so what? Did you not want to talk to me
Jules giggled and rolled onto her back, typing back to the boy. Robby waited for a response from her, a smile also plastered on his face.
Jules: I never said that, who wouldn't want to talk to you
Robby: oh haha
Jules: are you working tomorrow? I was thinking of stopping by
Robby: and you're the one calling me a stalker
The girl laughed at his message. She continued to text Robby, talking to the boy late into the night. Jules hadn't felt this close to anyone beside Miguel but he was after a LaRusso. It felt almost ironic for her, a LaRusso hated a Barron and a Barron liked a Lawerence. Jules felt like she was in some Scottish tragedy, but before she could stew more on the thought she was asleep.

"What'd you say to him?" Jules asked the boy as he walked in
Miguel shook his head. "I just asked why he had to be so mean to them and that he doesn't know what it's like to be a loser."
Jules leaned against a wall. "Did you get through to him."
She hissed out when he shook his head. "No, he just kinda brushed me off."
They looked out at the now almost empty dojo. Johnny didn't have too many chances to figure out what he was doing wrong. It was almost back to being just the three of them.
"He really needs to figure out soon." Jules shook her head. "He doesn't have a lot of chances left."
"I'm sorry for yesterday. You were right." Miguel apologized and the girl shook her head again. "I was thinking about what you said and maybe I was in the wrong too."
She smiled and then stood up and brought her hands up. "Now show me what you can do."
They laughed as they started sparring, not hitting hard or getting really into it. They only stopped when they saw their Sensei walked into the dojo. They all lined in their rows and their faces fell, Jules just stared into the mirror at her own reflection.
"Three more absences." Miguel told Johnny and Jules shook her head. "Bunch of pussies."
Johnny shook his head at her words. "No, it's my fault."
He stopped at the front and sighed, calling out to the entire class. "Since you joined Cobra Kai, I have been hard on you. I've called you names. I've humiliated you. Some of you I've hit and for that, I don't apologize."
Miguel and Jules looked at each other. There it was, it was going too good to be true.
"Cobra Kai is about strength. If you're not strong on the inside, you can't be strong on the outside. And right now, you're all weak. And I know that because I was you. I used to have no friends, used to be the weirdo kid. Not that weird. I hooked up with babes and all, but... the point is, I wasn't always the badass Sensei I am today. Just like a Cobra I had to shed my loser skin to find my true power and you guys will too."
A smirk crossed Jules face as her eyes locked with Johnny's. Just then, the shop bell jingled telling them that someone had entered. Her eyebrows furrowed, confused on who would come in the middle of a lesson.
"Welcome to Cobra Kai." Johnny said as Jules looked over and around Aisha. She looked confusedly at the boy, he had a really cool Mohawk but somehow looked familiar to her
That's when it hit her, that was Eli. Sweet, quiet Eli but he didn't seem that way anymore. Miguel also saw the boy and his jaw dropped. Jules smiled and chuckled at his new look.
"Eli, what happened?" He smiled at Jules and answered. "I'm flipping the script."
Johnny walked up to the boy. "Wait. Are you the kid with the lip? Nice cut, bro." Johnny turned and pointed at Eli. "You see that? Doesn't matter if you're a loser or a nerd or a freak. All that matters is that you become a badass."
Johnny walked back to the front before addressing the boy. "Hawk. Fall in."
Eli...no Hawk smiled as he kicked off his shoes and walked onto the mat. Miguel and Jules stepped over and made room for Hawk, he smiled at the two and Jules gave him a thumbs up before they turned to face the mirror. Johnny started at Hawk.
"Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it?" He asked
Hawk put his arms behind his back. "No, Sensei!"
Johnny moved to Jules. "Pain does not exist in this dojo, does it?"
She shook her head. "No, Sensei."
Finally it was Miguel's turn. "Defeat does not exist in this dojo, does it?"
Miguel sighed and replied. "No, Sensei."
Johnny nodded and turned around, facing the mirror. He felt like Kreese, and realized why the man took so much pride in this but Johnny was going to be better than kreese.
"Class!" He yelled out. "Are you ready to learn the way of the fist?"
"Yes, Sensei!" They all called out at the same time
A smile covered Johnny's face, Cobra Kai was back baby.
