Feel

06:47, 8 April 2019

The car's ac is on, yet I feel like I am being suffocated. Lawyer Choi offered to drive me there. As an apology he said. I don't really resent him. In fact, I don't think it's his fault. He keeps on whispering apologies and guilty comments to me, but right now I can only focus on the hard feeling in my chest. I focus on remembering how to breathe and try to remain calm.

"We are here." Lawyer Choi says with a sigh.

I choke back a cry and nod at his worried face. My hand reaches for the handle on the door and I pull, hearing the slight sound of the door opening.

Let's get this over with.

I get out the car in a flash before I can reconsider this.

"Min Young-ssi, are you sure about this? We could go back, the Chief already--"

"I'll be fine." I cut Lawyer Choi off and wave at him. "See you."

He nods vigorously and apologizes to me once more. Then, he rolls the window up and leaves. I see him off before turning around and staring at the large building upon me.

Clementine's Offices.

I swallow and step inside, I am immediately welcomed by a tall man in suit.

"Welcome. You must be..." he stares at a post-it note before looking back at me. "Man Min Young-ssi?"

I nod silently admiring his tallness (if that's a word).

"Perfect." He looks at his watch. "Just in time, please follow me."

I follow the tall man through a series of hallways and doors. We get to a special sort of elevator and go to the 7th floor. We walk through some more hallways until we get to a fancy sliding door that reads Law Department.

Funny, I thought Clementine's was just law stuff.

"Go inside detective/lawyer. He is waiting." The tall man says shortly before turning around to leave.

Ugh I hate when they say both titles.

I look at the crystal sliding door hesitantly before entering. Immediately, all heads that had been typing like crazy before turn to look at me.

"Min Young-ah." I hear his soft voice which now seems dreadful. I turn to look at the owner of the voice and head towards him. We enter his office and sit down. "I see you've made it."

"Yeah." I say looking at him.

"So...Lee Hyuk Jae, right?" He says awkwardly.

That's right. This is about work, about Lee Hyuk Jae, not about me or us. Focus.

"I have been following him enough to know about him." I say after clearing my throat. "He's...very clever."

"Yes, I heard you went undercover to his...office." He says chuckling. "How'd it go?"

"Uh, well, he kinda knew who I was from the beginning." I look away.

"Min Young-ah," he shifts on his chair uncomfortable. "I have an idea but..."

"Idea but...?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Ok, um, so I kinda heard you and Lee Hyuk Jae had um...unappropriate physical contact." He says sighing.

I blush the moment I hear that. Ugh, this is going to be so hard.

"Oh...um yeah, well." I scratch my neck nervously and try not to think about it.

"A-anyway!" He exclaims trying to get rid of the awkward atmosphere. "I have an idea but...I need you to tell me *cough* the exact things he did to you."

My blush intensifies and I feel my face hot as fire.

No way am I saying all of it. Wait, it's not like I should be ashamed! I mean, sure, I'm about to describe what happened to my ex boyfriend but he's my ex! Ex as in past! Be proffesional, Min Young!

"We kissed." I say shortly. Yup, keep it simple.

"Okay..so...what else?" He waves his hand for me to continue.

"Um we..." I remember when he pinned me against his bed. "...held hands." I say simply.

Byung Do sighs and stops writing in his note pad.

"Min Young-ah, I need actual descriptions. Maybe we can get him to an interrogation room but I need you to--"

"Wait. Is your idea to take him to a room for...sexual harrassment?" I ask incredulous.

"Yes! Haha you are still as smart as ever. Now we are talking so--"

"It won't work." I say blushing. "It...it wasn't against my will." I say firmly.

"...What?" He sits back on his chair. "You...you wanted it?"

Ok, that's not how I'd say it.

"No! I mean yes, but no, not like that! I mean...it just happened ok?" I say frustrated.

Byung Do sighs and puts his hands over mine. I stare at him puzzled.

"Min Young-ah, I...I thought I'd be okay you know?" He says taking his reading glasses off. "I mean...I was planning to just work with you, you know? To just...talk about this criminal guy and work together, not talk about..." he squeezes my hand. "...personal matters."

Shit. I knew it. It's impossible to avoid it.

I stare at him in the eyes. Byung Do hasn't changed a bit. He still looks like a gentleman and his hands are as bony as ever. I can see sincerity on his eyes and yet I still think of her when I look at him. His suit makes him look very proffesional and...hot. His legs are long, they are unavoidable and if I move my feet just a liitle bit, our legs will touch.

Yet he makes me remember her too much. The pain I felt, the betrayal, the mocking from both sides.

I remove my hand from his.

"Byung Do-ssi, right now I am a lawyer/detective, whetever you want. I'm not that girl from 5 years ago anymore. Right now...I came to talk about a man we have to arrest somehow. Personal matters...can wait. And I ask you to please not call me so familiarly, Byung Do-ssi."

He sighs and looks down putting his reading glasses aside and adjusting his tie. He chuckles.

"Okay, then I'll call Min Young-ah later. Now...Min Young-ssi, let's go." He stands up and heads to the door.

I turn around and look at him and his...tallness.

"G-go where?" I ask flustered.

"Well, I think...if he likes you so much...maybe we should make him mad." He smirks and takes my hand, leading me out the office.

I have a bad feeling...again.

Oh my Gosh! Ok, gotta calm down. Ooh, I'm going to start writing the next chapter cause I'm so excited!Unnies, dongsaengs, get ready~
