Chapter 6: Day one

So my brain decided to pump some dopamine today, let's see how this chapter turns out.

Text from Kono-sanWhere are you? Rimura sensei is getting...a bit angry.[-Reply] [Mark as read]

AFTER SETTING LIKE 10 Alarms, I failed to wake up on time. GOD, I'm such a heavy sleeper.

Upon reading that messaged I ran towards the school entrance with any power I had left from already jogging to my destination.

Soon enough, a dark blueish minivan came into my vicinity and as I got closer it was clear to me it was our student council along with an angry sensei staring right at my soul.

"There he is" Sengoku spoke.

"There's who? oh you mean the guy I forgot about 5 mins ago?" Rimura sensei spoke in a cold tone.

As soon as she spoke, Kono-san burst into laughter from my mimic of her being overly accurate.

"I'm so sorry Sensei, alarm and I don't have a good history" I replied.

"Whatever now, at least you're here. Throw your bag in the back and get in" she spoke as she got into the driver seat.

"Sengoku you're up In front with me" she said.

"Huh? why me" he protested.

"I don't think the other three will stay awake in the ride, I want someone who can keep me awake while driving if I be honest, I haven't got much sleep" she replied.

"Su...sure...." he sighed in defeat.

Me Kono-san and Remi got seated in back as I allowed those two to get in first. First went Remi like a child securing a window seat for herself followed by Kono-san and myself.

The engine started and off we go!

If i be honest, I still have no idea what we have to do but ainh...it's gonna be a blast!

"Ok people listen up, the student council of Naku high might be a little iffy to deal with" Rimura Sensei said.

"What do you mean by iffy?" I asked.

"I've heard about them making other students...uncomfortable. I don't know how though, I've never seen them so..." She shrugged taking her hands off the steering wheel for a moment.

"Uncomfortable? as in?" Kono-san asked.

"I have no clue, anyway. It's gonna be a long ride. You three in the back can sleep if you want" she spoke.

"Not me?" Sengoku asked.

"You want to sleep? go ahead" she spoke in a very cold and threatening tone enough to send shivers down our spine.

"I..I'm not sleepy anyway.." he replied in fear.

As the car cruised over the highway, the atmosphere in the car was filled with laughter and small chats but in a few minutes it was a complete 180.

Sengoku had this earphones plugged in while Remi and Kono-san were busy watching something on their phones.

Sitting in the middle, only thing I could do was to look at the windshield towards the oncoming traffic or at the screen of my phone.

"Sensei, is there gonna be people from other school too? Where are we gonna live?" I asked.

"Yeah well, we've rented a cottage nearby should be enough to house you students" she replied.

"A cottage for just 4 of us?" I asked.

"There's 11 more students that's gonna be there with you" she added.

"Including that troublesome student council?" I asked.

"Nah not them, just kids from other school' she replied.

11 more people huh? Seems like it's gonna be either a really shitty trip or we're about to have a blast.

I felt a weight gently summon on my left shoulder and the scent of the lavender shampoo that followed was a bit too familiar.

I looked over to see a sleeping Cuti- I mean Kono-san resting her head on my shoulder while sleeping.

She's probably tired....

She forces herself to be responsible too much, "was she the first one to arrive?" I asked Remi.

"Actually, she was there even before I arrived" Rimura Sensei added.

"Guessed so" I chuckled lightly.

If she just takes care of everything and everyone, who's gonna take care of her?

[Time Skip]

*Camera Shutter Sound*

"We're almost there"

Huh?

My eyes opened up as I was brought to reality from Sensei's voice. I was apparently leaning towards Kono-san who was still asleep? Leaning on me.

I gently backed off a bit in embarrassment But still being careful enough so that she doesn't wake up.

Looking over towards Remi she was leaning on Kono-san being asleep. And looking over Sengoku.... he looks almost dead.

I looked out the window as it was apparent to me that we were quite a bit from the crowded and loud city.

The landscape around us was open... guarded by the mountains as the poles carrying wires could be seen almost every few meters.

There were these houses that looked so... peaceful. As we drove along I lowered the window a bit and was instantly rewarded with a fresh breeze of air.

On my left shoulder, I felt some motion. I looked over and saw Kono-san furrowing her eyebrows as they ever so slowly opened up.

She looked around and then at me, after almost 5 seconds the realization hit her.

"OH IM SO SORRY TANJI-KUN!!!" she instantly backed off not realizing there's a wild Remi resting on her shoulder.

And then Remi's head went flying as she hit it on the seat belt holder...thank god, not the window.

"Sakura did we crash?! Sensei are we alive?" Remi came out of her slumber in a rather... devastating way.

"I'm so sorry Remi!!!!" Kono-san exclaimed.

[Time Skip]

Our car pulled up in the parking lot of what looked like a comfortable and big house...Huh, I guess this should be enough for 15 people?

We probably were the 2nd one to arrive as I saw one other minivan already parked there.

"Alright, don't engage in unnecessary arguments and fights with other school students ok?"

"Yes" we replied in unison.

"You kids can play but don't wander anywhere alone" she added.

"Yes!" we replied.

"Also don't forget your phone when you go out-" she added before I interjected.

"We get it sensei! ok ok" I chuckled.

"Alright, follow me in" she said unbuckling her seat belt.

We unbuckled our seat belt as we followed Rimura sensei in. On the door there was 6 students standing along with...their sensei?

"Oh Rimura sensei, you guys finally made it here" said another teach.

As we looked over those 6 students, there was this one girl in a lab coat? she is wearing casual clothes beneath it though.

"So what school are you guys from?" Asked one of the guys from the group looking at Sengoku and Remi.

"We're from Katagiri senior high" Sengoku replied calmly.

"My name is Yuma Kunimi, nice to meet you! She's Saki Kamisato" He replied smiling as he pointed towards a girl.

"Nice to meet you guys" Sengoku replied as we nodded in agreement.

"I'm Rio futaba and you're watching Disney cha- (n/ delete b4 publish)

"My name is Rio Futaba and he's Zu- I mean Yuzu Nakamoto" the short girl with Lab coat spoke up.

"Nice to meet you Futaba-san, Nakamoto-kun" We replied.

"Same here bud!" He smiled.

"I'm Sakurajima Mai and this bed head guy here is Sakuta Azusagawa" The familiar girl spoke up, seriously...I've heard that name before, but where?

"Very pleased to be your acquaintances" Sengoku added.

The two nodded acceptingly.

[Time Skip- Self introductions end and a few chats later]

"I've heard the student council of the school we're about to tend is...not so friendly" Kunimi joked.

"Our Sensei told us about that aswell, they aren't... welcoming is what we were told" Remi replied.

"We'll see how they are, if they misbehave they're feeling it-" Nakamoto kun added cracking his knuckles before the lab coat girl gently tapped him on his temple.

"Zuzu, no fighting" she said in a commanding tone.

"Okay okay" Nakamoto kun chuckled.

Seems like those two are close...

"I've come all the way here and I'm yet to know what our task here is" Azusagawa sighed.

"Can relate" I added.

"I guess we should wait for the last Students to arrive, then we'll probably be briefed" Kono-san added.

"Let's see" Nakamoto kun replied.

As of now, we were sitting on the large sofa provided in the living room while our teachers chilled around the kitchen probably discussing work? hopefully...looking at them does look like they're just laughing and enjoying well, it's a good break, even for them.

The door of the room opened up as three students in uniform? walked in.

"Oh hello, people! sorry for being late" one of them spoke.

They seem polite, what was sensei on about?

"We were informed about 15 students if I recall correctly?" another one said.

"Oh they are running a bit late, they'll be here in a minute" Rimura sensei spoke.

"Ok, shall we wait for them?" they asked.

"We teachers we'll be on our way, alright listen up students they'll tell you what you have to do. We'll see you tomorrow morning" Rimura sensei spoke up.

"Only if you woke up early, we would've been here early" came a feminine voice from the passage.

"Guess they're here" Rimura Sensei added.

Entering the room were two teachers...Followed by 5 students? Well I guess the final students are here aswell.

"Oh Hiratsuka Sensei, we have to leave for the meeting now" Rimura Sensei spoke.

"But we just arrived" The male teacher that just entered protested. I totally agree with this guy, it was a long drive.

"I'm really sorry Minamoto Sensei, but we'll have to leave" Rimura Sensei said as the four exitted the room...one teacher almost dead.

"The guy from that day!" 4 of the People behind me said looking at the students who just entered.

"Blakie" "Suzuki-kun" The remaining two said with a smile.

"Oh you guys got dragged in this trip aswell?" The guy replied as he removed a earphone from his ear.

"Do you know them?" A bluenette standing next to him asked with almost the most incurious tone I've ever heard.

"Yeah, friends..." He said looking at the girl in lab coat then he looked towards the guy "and family"

"Ehm ehm" one of the three student council of coughed intentionally to grab attention.

The guy who was silent until now spoke, "we got quite a good set of people here don't we?"

"We do, we didn't think city schools would have so cute girls too" one of the glassed guy spoke.

"Ah...now I see what's up with this people" Sengoku said silently.

Nakamoto-kun just chuckled "They have no idea what they're dragging themselves into"

"What do you mean?" Sengoku asked.

"You'll see" he replied.

"Alright listen up people. What we're doing here is to overlook middle school students who are here for a 3 day field trip. We're supposed to play with them help them and organize games everywhere they go. Today will be rest for you guys let's get to know each other seeing soo many attractive people just gets me going" The guy with spiked hair spoke. Honestly these 3 council members are like clowns. Each one of them is a clown from different era.

We sat on sofas according to our groups as the 4 sofas facing each other were quickly all occupied.

"Let's start with the ones that came in late" Spiked guy said.

They seemed to...not care? One guy with the hooded jacket had earphones in while the bluenette sitting next to him was busy in her phone.

"My name is Yuigahama Yui, it's-nice to meet you" The peach hair's girl spoke up.

"My name is Yukino Yukinoshita, it's a pleasure to be your acquaintance" the dark hair girl spoke.

"Hikigaya Hachiman. Ni-nice to meet you" The guy with...dead eyes? Spoke.

"You two" The spike hair'd council member pointed towards the ignorant two.

"Name's Blake Suzuki" The guy replied taking a earphone out to reply then putting it back in.

"I'm Kawasaki Saki...making your acquaintance" the blue hair'd girl replied unfazed.

"Just because you were on your phone, I'll assume you don't know how to give your introduction... introduce yourself with your interests" The spike hair'd guy spoke as his to accompany laughed.

"Huh? I was just messaging a friend I've left my younger siblings with, she was asking me some questions" The blue hair'd girl replied.

"Doesn't matter introduce yourself again, Kawa.  Saki." He spoke.

At this point I saw the guy with earphones taking his earphones out and putting them in his pocket.

"But it was an emergency don't you have siblings-" She was replying logically it's not even an big issue? Why is he cornering her?

"Just state your hobbies or I'll think of a punishment?" He said in a...evilish tone?

"You're crossing your limit-" the bluenette started before her classmate interjected.

"She's a writer, she writes book in her meantime" he spoke.

"Oh really? What's your latest book called?" He asked the girl then looked at the guy who answered him.

"It's called Mind Your Own Fucking Business" he spoke in a cold tone.

"You realise I can fail you guys in this activity and disqualify your school from this event?" The spiked guy said.

"This is getting serious" Kono-san spoke softly.

"You realise you've been misbehaving with us ever since we arrived right? Now you're trying to harras my friend there? You've got some nerves antenna guy" He replied.

"Yeah, you're being rude for no good reason" Nakamoto spoke up.

"Antenna guy huh...you don't realise who you're speaking with" spiked guy replied.

"Just fuck off from here will ya? Come tomorrow with the things that we have to do. You serve no purpose here" he added.

"You wait and watch buddy, I'll see you all tomorrow" he said getting up and leaving for the day... hopefully.

"You realise you didn't have to fight with him? We're here to score points for our school not to get removed from the committee" The dark hair girl sitting on their sofa spoke up.

"Oh I'm sorry, but I can't care less about this once you start crossing the lines" he said in a tone with was in no way remorseful? More like he was mocking the girl out.

"Now now calm down you two. We atleast have the whole evening to us, let's settle out and pick rooms" Remi chimed in.

"Ye-yeah. Let's do that instead" Kono-san tried to ease off the tension in the room.

[Time Skip]

"How bad can our luck can be?" I sighed as me and Kono-san lost the stone paper scissors game to bring snacks.

"It's not that bad, it's just this is a new place for us and we should be more careful of our surroundings" Kono San said with a gentle smile.

"That's true, speaking of which, why is there no convenience store here" i said looking around.

"Thats true, there are a lot of houses but no shop for groceries" she replied.

Walking for 15 minutes this late at night just to get some snacks would've been a unconvinient thing for me but since I'm with Kono-san...it's comforting.

Why am I like this?

"There sure are a lot of students we're staying with" Kono-san tried to break off the silence.

"Sure is, but it's good they're so friendly...except that student council" I said.

"They said they'll deal with us tomorrow, I just hope it doesn't became a big fuss" she said in a low tone.

"It won't. We're all there to look through it aren't we?" I said.

After a few more minutes of walking through, we finally were able to find a convenience store.

Taking a basket and heading in, we just started filling in packets of chips and some bottles of soft drinks for the night.

"I'll take the cream and onion one" Kono-san said as I was about to throw in another spicy chip.

"Don't like spicy?" I smiled.

"I do but, the prefer the sweetness of the cream and onion more" she replied.

"Sure" I smiled as I put two of those packets in.

Taking the basket to the billing counter my eyes fell on the chocolate bars at the counters. Hey, isn't this the same chocolate she eats in the lunch break?

I just took 2 of them and threw them into the basket aswell.

"You're taking those chocolates too?" Quick to notice her favourite chocolates huh?

"You keep eating those back at school, let's try them out" I chuckled.

After billing up it was time to head back. We exited the store as we began to head back.

The noise of air swaying around and leaves rattling along with it was what filled the silence between us.

I looked over her as she rubbed her hands on her arms , is she feeling cold? Seeing that she's only wearing a t-shirt and this countryside area does get chillier at night due to no pollution and cleaner air...

"You feeling cold?" I asked.

"Just a bit, but I can manage" she smiled back.

"Here take for a sec" I handed her the bags I was carrying.

"Sure but why-" she began saying before she got the answer.

I removed my jacket and placed it on her shoulders taking the bag from her, "you can wear it" I smiled.

"Bu-but wouldn't you feel cold?" She asked.

"Nah it's fine, it's not that cold" I replied.

"You sure?" She confirmed.

"Yea" I replied.

"Th-thank you...then" she said as she wore the jacket.

"This is warm, comfortable warmth..." she spoke something I couldn't make out.

"Huh? Did you say anything?" I asked.

"No- no nothing" she instantly exclaimed.

"Huh...okay" I replied.

We were about to get back as a familiar farm which was very close to our "cottage" came into our vicinity.

"Hey Tanji-kun, can I ask you something?" She asked as I could make out her cheeks being a bit red from whatever moonlight hit her face.

"Go ahead" I assured her.

"Do you have someone you li-like?" She asked as I felt my face heat up.

Looked over at her while we passed under the street lights I could see even her embarrassed as her ears and face was diving in the color red.

Yeah....you.

"N-no not re-really" I replied.

"I see..." She sighed in relief? Hmm?

"Is something the issu-" I began asking as she cut me off.

"OH WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT, WE'RE BACK!" she said loudly as she started walking a bit faster towards the entrance.

Guess I'll let it go this time...--------------------------

Randomly opened up genshin after not playing it for months and got this.

This chap might not be that good considering there was less Sakura x Reader moments here but ill try to put more in the following chapters.
