~Chapter 10~

One kiss was all it took.

One kiss before I knew I wanted more.

One kiss before I knew I needed him close to me.

One kiss for me to realise that maybe, he wanted me just as badly.

One kiss.

"Quick, grab some cans and take them in before they think anything has happened."

Luke directed me, pointing to the fridge. I made my way over and pulled out 3 cans, leaving him to get the other 3 after me.

"What, so you want to keep this a secret? Not tell them about that? Did it not mean anything to you Luke?"

"Of course it meant something to me. You said you didn't want to rush!! Is this too slow for you now? Changed your mind?"

Luke retorted, shutting the fridge with his knee in frustration.

"It's not too slow it's just.. I thought back.. To my mum... Anyway it's not important. Drinks, lets go."

Instantly I felt all the tension in the room disappear. Despite Luke or anyone else in the house knowing nothing about the reason for the death of my mother, I knew they understood the pain and emotional suffering I'd been through, even to this day, Luke especially. He softened his tone.

"I'm sorry Lex.. I didn't mean to say things that would make you bring that up. C'mon, let's just see what happens when we get in there."

Luke pushed open the door and I followed him into the room, passing the drinks around.

"What happened in the kitchen Lexi?" Hannah asked me, abruptly sitting up on her bed.

After band practice Ashton had dropped Hannah and myself back to her house for the rest of the afternoon. She'd been asking me since Luke and I returned from the kitchen but I kept telling her I'd reveal all later. I guess now is later.

"Well.. He hugged me. And then I apologised for not letting him kiss me, he started going on, blaming himself for whatever reason and then I dunno. Something just came over me and I kissed him. We kissed. "

Hannah's face went from shock to absolute delight. She started jumping around excitedly, leaving me sitting on the bed with my eyebrows raised.

"I knew it! We all knew it! It was soooo obvious that night he walked you home and you took ages and even before that! Oh! OH! when he sang for you the first time, he couldn't even keep his eyes off you. And you couldn't move. You guys would be so cute together you know. Lex, I know Luke gets a lot of female attention, all the boys do, but he's honestly been looking for the right girl to come along for ages. He's not one to play girls. He likes the long relationships. He's in for the long haul. I have a feeling it's you, you're the girl he's been waiting for."

By the end of her mini speech she somehow ended up back on the bed next to me.

So, Luke and I had something? A chance? In this world that was at times cruel and unfair, the boy who killed my insides, made me into a pool of molten liquid, actually felt the same about me. We could end up together.

A few hours later I returned home across the road to find Molly cooking up a storm in the kitchen. And when I say a storm, I literally mean it. Pots and pans everywhere, so many different ingredients coming together. Either she was experimenting again or we were celebrating something.

I made my way toward her, making sure to steer clear of the mess although it was rather difficult.

"Hey Mol! What's going on?"

I asked, not too sure whether I wanted to know.

"Oh well I just thought I'd put out a big meal because-" She was interrupted by the doorbell.

I held up a finger, letting her know I'd be back in a minute, as I retreated from the kitchen and answered the door.

"Hey sweetcakes!"

Oh, explains why Molly was doing what she was doing.

A/N: ooh a boring filler chapter with a cliffhanger ending... (; sorry about that guys, I had to. Who do you think was at the door?? Comment!!

Also sorry about the whole broken iPod thing. It was broken but not as badly as first thought. The LCD screen needed replacing and luckily I have kind and loving parents who found a repair shop near our hotel and I had it repaired overnight (: so I'm back! *cheers*

I know I'm updating crazily but once I get back home from my holiday (which will be about the 22nd of October) I'll go back to updating on a Tuesday! Bear with me!
