Chapter 10

Percy's POV.

"C'mon Percy you have to teach today" a voice said, shaking my shoulder gently.

"Five more minutes Mom" I groaned anda laugh rang out.

"It's Bianca" the voice said and I rubbed my eyes, sitting up. I blinked at her for a second before pulling the blankets over my head. I heard a whine and she yanked at my arm.

"C'mon Percy" she said and I shook my head, causing her to glare and yank the blanket off.

"Bianca" I whined and rolled out of bed.

"C'mon breakfast is in 15 minutes" she said and I threw on a shirt.

"I'm not hungry," I said simply, grabbing my cloak and pulling the hood up.

"Then why are you getting dressed?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. I hesitated and pulled on my shoes.

"I have some people I wanna see" I said and she was quiet.

"You mean Charlie and Luke?" she asked and I froze.

"Silena told us about them. Don't be mad at her though" she said quickly and I sighed.

"I'm not mad. Let's just go" I said and unzipped the tent.

"Are you coming?" I asked and she nodded.

We approached the dinning hall and I felt curious gazes land on me.

"What day is it?" I asked and she glanced at me.

"July 31st" she said and I laughed a little.

"8 years ago tomorrow I woke mother earth with a nose bleed" I snorted and she laughed.

"Well you also saved the world for- the 4th time? 5th time?" she mocked and I elbowed her gently, making our way to the Chaos table. I got greated by smiles and waves. And-

"Why are all of your hood's down?" I asked and they looked at each other nervously.

"We revealed ourselves to keep suspicions down. The camp was pretty upset after you slapped Chiron'' Ethan said with a pointed eyebrow.

"Oops'' I said sarcastically and sat down.

"That's what happens when you hide the fact I have children'' I said and a few laughs rang out.

"Eh ehm" Chiron coughed and the whole dining hall quieted and a 1,000 heads turned to look at him.

"We will be going back to normal training now that Riptide is back" he said, shooting me a look.

"Would you like to comment?" he asked me and I stood up, not saying a word to him.

"I know that the next few days are going to be hard on a lot of you. And we will not down play that. Every war has more losses than needed, and they're hard to deal with" I said and everyone glanced at us.

"Every single person in the army had been through wars, so if you need to talk, any of them will be available to talk to" I said 16 or 17 year old raised his hand.

"Why not you?" he asked. 

"I personally don't want to talk to any of the people who were in the war. Except Leo. your cool'' I said and Leo whooped.

"Moving on, today cabins 1,3,4,13, 15, and 20 will be with Bianca and I. And other magic users, such as Leo, or Frank. If you have a power, you are required to come" I said and a few murmurs rung out.

"Cabins 5, 6, 11, 16, 17, and 18 will be going with Luke and Ethan. Cabins 7,8,9,12, and 19 will go with Micheal and Zoë for archery. Cabin 10 will be with Silena, and the legion can spread out by respective cabin, so if you're a son of Mercury, you'd go with cabin 11" I said glancing around.

"Now eat up. We have pretty intense training" I said sitting back down. The chatter continued and Luke patted me on the back

"Okay, split into the same groups as before" I said harshly and gave Bianca a fist bump.

"Good luck." she whispered and I nodded.

"Go talk to Nico. It's ok Bianca" I said and she looked at me.

"Are you sure?" she asked and I kissed her forehead.

"Go on" I smiled and she nodded. I made my way over to my group.

"Please organize by cabin" I heard myself say cooly. They did so and I felt Leo's eyes follow me. No getting attached. You're leaving August 18th. I took a breath and walked over to Cabin 20.

"Ok, so Leo. We have a few fire users in the army, and they can do some pretty amazing things. Have you ever shot a stream of fire out of your hand? Like a continuous stream? Like, if your hand was a dragon?" I asked and he shook his head. "Well they can do that. They are also known for making animals and weapons out of fire" I said and a grin grew on his face. "I can't teach you, but my friends are coming in 7 days, and they should be able to help," I said he laughed.

"That's gonna annoy the heck out of Calypso," he said and I froze.

"How is she, by the way?" I asked, careful not to look at him.

"She's good. Do you... know her?" he asked and I hesitated.

"I met her once. Went to her island. I'm glad she finally found someone" I said and a small grin grew on my face. I realized and quickly got rid of it. No Percy. No attachments. I scolded myself and coughed.

"I should go," I said and hurried in the direction of the Graces. They straightened at the sight of me and Thalia had a glare laced across her features.

"Don't bother me with dumb problems" Thalia snarled over the Iris Message.

"Grace." I said regarding both at the same time.

"There are no children of the big three in the army, other than Bianca and Percy. But I'm going to do some research" I said coolly and Jason cleared his throat.

"If there are no other children of the big three, who is your godly parent" he asked and I froze.

"That's no business of yours." I said and Thalia rolled her eyes.

"Why weren't you researching during the two days you were missing?" she asked, still glaring.

"I was visiting a friend. You remember Percy... right?" I asked and their faces lit up a little bit. "Yeah. And you know what, now I see why Percy hates you so much" I snarled and their eyes widened. Thalia lunged at me and I flipped her over my shoulder, bringing my forearm to her throat.

"Where is he" she choked and a set of hands ripped me off her. I turned and snarled but froze when I saw Bianca.

"Riptide" she whispered and my face softened.

"Stay away from me" I growled at the Grace's and walked to the last group of people. The two were sitting on the ground, and I stopped. Bianca nudged me and I took a hesitant step forward.

"Hey I'm Riptide," I said and sat down next to them.

"You were the one with the cool powers" Luke said and I laughed.

"Well, if i'm correct, you can do all of those too" I said and their eyes lit up. Charlotte raised her hand and I smiled.

"You don't have to raise your hand" I said, amusement laced in my tone.

"Do you know Daddy?" she asked and my breath hitched.

"Yeah. We're really close" I said and she smiled.

"Auntie Bianca says she doesn't know if he's coming back. Is he?" Luke asked and I hesitated.

"He wants to," I said and glanced around. Jason, Thalia, and Leo were watching, and probably listening.

"Why can't he? Is he ok?" Charlotte asked and I nodded.

"He's sad. He's been mad at himself a lot recently" I said and she tilted her head.

"Why?" I was quiet for a minute and glanced at the 3 senior campers.

"He became the one thing that he fought against for 6 years. The thing he gave up immortality in order to destroy" I said and felt myself on the verge of a breakdown. I stood up quickly and started to walk away, but hesitated.

"Would you two like to have a private lesson with me this afternoon?" I asked and they nodded. "Cool. I'll meet you at the Poseidon Cabin" I said, a small smile forming, and quickly turning back into an emotionless face. No Attachments.
