Chapter XVI- 𝐴𝑣𝑜𝑖𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔

Eren POV

𝑀𝑒, 𝐸𝑟𝑒𝑛 𝑌𝑒𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑟 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒𝑠 𝑀𝑖𝑘𝑎𝑠𝑎 𝐴𝑐𝑘𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑛? - 𝐼 𝑞𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑚𝑦𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓

𝑆𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑤 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝐴𝑟𝑚𝑖𝑛- 𝐼 𝑠𝑎𝑖𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝑚𝑦 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑑

It was Friday morning and I was on my way to school. Now I can't even look at Mikasa without the heat rising in my cheeks. I made it to the school entrance and greeted Armin and Ymir who we're by the lockers.

"𝐇𝐞𝐲 𝐠𝐮𝐲𝐬."-I said quietly

Ymir looked me up and down an raised in eyebrow.

"𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮?"-She asked me

A smirk grew on Armin's face and he was about to say something but my clever ass stomped on his foot to shut him up.

"𝐨𝐰𝐰𝐰."-Armin whined

Ymir looked back and forth from Armin to me and then back to Armin and she rolled her eyes.

"𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐠𝐨."-Ymir said and we started walking through the corridors, we made it to our own lockers. I opened up my locker and grabbed my History textbook because that's what we would be needing for first period. I closed my locker and jumped back in fear. Mikasa was standing beside me the whole time.

"𝐇𝐞𝐲 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧."-Mikasa greeted

"𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐟 𝐲-"-I cut her off in the middle of her sentence

"𝐔𝐡 𝐲𝐞𝐚 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨."-I stammered and quickly walked away.

As I walked past, I could see the hurt in Mikasa's eyes but I didn't want to ruin our friendship by me liking her than I am supposed to. All I had to do is avoid her until my feelings for her went away. Its that simple.__________________________

Mikasa's POV

I stood still infront of Ymir and Armin. Eren had just completely ignored me.I looked at Ymir and Armin.

"𝐈𝐬 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞?"-I asked them

"𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐞."-Ymir said

Armin stomped on her foot and she whined.

"𝐀𝐡 𝐧𝐨 𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭."-Armin reassured me

"𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐈 𝐝𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠?"- I asked them again

"𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐈'𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝."-Armin said and he walked away with Ymir

Now I stood there in embarrassment. A few people we're staring at me for some reason. Seems like Eren didn't even notice that I cut my hair. I wanted to show it to him if he liked it but I guess not. I walked away from the lockers and to my class.

I sat down beside Eren where I've been sitting since we became friends. I looked at him and was about to ask him why he ignored me but then he stood up and went to sit in the front. THE FRONT. He never sits there.

𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑑𝑖𝑑 𝐼 𝑑𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ?- 𝐼 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ𝑡

I put my head in my shoulders on my desk and stayed like that for the rest of the class. I could've sworn someone was staring at me but I didn't bother to look up. ___________________________

It was lunch time so I made my way to the cafeteria with Sasha. Sasha kept talking about how much she liked Connie and how they we're now dating. Of course I was happy for her but I wasn't totally listening, I was more focused on having Eren explain. We enterwd the cafeteria and saw Eren sitting with Armin, Ymir, Annie, Reiner and Connie. I walked faster to the table but Sasha ran there and sat with Connie. When I sat down, Eren got  up and left the cafeteria, he was already done with his food.

Sasha took notice and whispered something in my ear.

"𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧?"-She asked

I just shrugged and took a french fry from Sasha's plate which she yelled at me for.

I didn't eat anything during lunch and when the bell rang, I walked  to the girls bathroom to change into my P.E wear. It consisted of a white shirt which you would tuck in the black shorts. (For girls) I wore my gym shoes and walked out. I walked to the gym with Annie and Historia and when we made it, we saw Keith Shadis.

𝐴ℎ 𝐼 ℎ𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑔𝑢𝑦.- 𝐼 𝑠𝑎𝑖𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝑚𝑦 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑑

Well I mean everyone does but everyone is also scared of him except Eren. Keith was friends with Eren's dad apparently so he also knew Eren from a while ago.

I lined up infront of Mr.Shadis and we waited for the rest of our class to arrive. Eren was the last to walk in and for a moment our eyes locked before Eren quickly looked away. I sighed and shook my head.

"𝐀𝐋𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐆𝐎𝐓𝐒, 𝐓𝐎𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐃𝐎𝐃𝐆𝐄𝐁𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐈𝐒 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐖𝐄'𝐑𝐄 𝐃𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐎 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐌𝐄 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐆𝐎𝐓."-Mr.Shadis yelled

We got into our teams and the game commenced. __________________________

I was in the changing room, changing back to my normal clothes and left thr gym once I finished, I walked through the corridors and saw some random students hanging a banner. The banner read: Fall Dance on next week Friday, 6 pm.

I never really liked proms or whatever but this would be my last dance of highschool so why not participate. Even though I have no one in mind of who I want to go with. I was thinking Eren but that idea is out the window so I guess I'll just go alone since Sasha has Connie, Armin has Annie, Historia has Ymir and I'm just there.

As I walked out of the entrance, I could see Eren a couple meters infront of me, I ran up to him but was pulled back by a hand. I looked up and saw Floch.

"𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐡?"-I asked

"𝐔𝐡 𝐲𝐞𝐚 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠."-He said

"𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭."-I said and looked back to see Eren getting further and further away.

"𝐍𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭."-He said

Eren was now completely gone, I sighed and looked back at Floch.

"𝐖-𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲?"-He asked looking down at the ground

And here I was thinking I would go alone, Floch wasn't exactly who I wanted to go with but its better than going alone right?

"𝐔𝐡 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞."-I responded

He hugged me and I hugged him back and he left. I sighed and walked all the way home.___________________________
