Chapter 16: Baby Lexi

I'm due anytime now. I'm sitting in the living room with my brother and Father watching Stranger Things. My dad is not understanding at all.

"Dad she flipped a truck with nothing but her mind !", I say putting my fingers to my head. "I saw that but what's the point of the whole show ?", he asked. I guess he wasn't paying attention. "Finding Will ! The Byers boy !", said Jake. "He's been gone the entire time, Dad.", I say. "Ohhhh.....then where does Eleven come from ?", he asked. "Oh my gosh dad, really ?", said Jake annoyed.

I laugh at my brother and my father. "She came from a lab that did experiments on her. Her real name is Jane.", I explain. "Ok.....but where does-" "Ok that's enough Stranger Things for tonight.", said Jake cutting my dad off. "I'm going to wash the dishes.", I say trying to stand up. "Be careful.", said my dad. "She's always careful Dad."

I began to stand up. When I stood up liquid dropped onto the floor. My water broke. I'm going into labor. My brother had a huge smile on his face and Dad walked over too me. I was in such shock, I couldn't move a muscle. Dad picked me up and headed towards the car.

"Jake get her bag out the closet by the bathroom.", says my dad horrified. He was more horrified than I was. "I already have it !", said Jake holding it up. "When did you have time to get it ?", asked my dad confused. "Jake follows me around the house.", I say in pain. "I'm always prepared. Let's go !", said Jake running towards the door. "Okay Jake, you drive.", said my dad helping me up and out the door. "No !", I say.

I can't believe dad let Jake drive. He's so careless and reckless. I'm laying in the back seat holding my belly. It's starting to hurt bad. I don't think I can do this. Dad called my friends. Jake is speeding and I'm surprised we didn't get pulled over yet. We make it to the hospital just in time. They move me onto another bed and move me into the hospital. They put a mask on my face and then everything goes black.

I woke up seeing my brother sleeping in a chair and my Dad on the phone. I look at my surroundings and see that I'm in a hospital room. I'm dilated 4 cm already. That means I should go into labor soon. I call for my dad and he looks up at me. He grabs my hand and kisses it. I'm so scared. Jason isn't here to see this. I miss him. I'll wait a little bit longer before I let him find me.

After hours of giving birth the baby was now here. Everyone meet Lexi Marie McCann. She was 3 pounds and 7 ounces. She looks just like Jason a little. I can't help but to cry. She's so beautiful. I wish Jason was here to see her. He'd be so happy. I'm now a mother. I'm going to make sure she's happy.

* a year later *

"Are you sure you're ready to move ?", my dad asked me helping me move my boxes. "Yes Dad. Me and Lexi will be fine and we're just an hour away.", I say. "I still think you need to tell Jason." I roll my eyes at his comment. "I will when I'm ready Dad. Right now I'm not. I'm still hurt."

"And you still love him.", said my dad. He had stopped me from putting my boxes into my car. "Don't wait until it's too late.", he tells. "I'll tell him before she's 5.", I say closing my car trunk. "Ok. Drive safe and call me as soon as you get there. I love you."

"I love you too Dad and tell Jake I said I love him and good luck with college courses."

My dad kissed my cheek then he kissed Lexi who was holding her favorite teddy bear that Jake gave her. Dad backed away from my car and waved goodbye to us. Once I got to the house, I texted my Dad telling him we made it and that we're safe. I picked little Lexi up and we walked in the house. I put her down at the door and let her crawl around. She's happy to be here and so am I. All we need now is Jason.
