Chapter 10

(Misty is wearing the Auradon fencing uniform)

Jay and Misty were in their fencing uniforms, walking to the amphitheater for practice. Jay knew Chad was in Evie's dorm to get fitted for Cotillion. Jay opened the door and told Chad to be in the Amphitheater in five minutes. Chad didn't answer and continued to talk to Evie and Doug, about how he should've been Captain or Co-Captain.

Misty rolled her eyes and she stood next to Jay looking at Chad. "Chad, Let's go, or you're running a mile around the tourney field." Misty says. "I'm coming" Chad scoffs and starts walking off the platform.

He walks towards the two and walks out of the room, Jay wrapping his arm around Chad's shoulder.

Cut to Fencing practice, Misty was standing on one of the blocks getting the team's attention. "Alright boys, line up. Carlos you're with Jay, I will be spectating." She says putting her hands in her hips.

Everyone lined up across from each other. Misty watched all of them closely, then spoke. "Assembler. Salute. Lower the point. Masks down. En garde!" She blew the whistle around her neck and they began.

She watched everyone closely, "Keep your center!" She shouted. After a bit one by one they all got out, except for Jay and another person she wasn't familiar with. She watched the two battle, and the mysterious person was left.

After they finished the person took off their mask to reveal, Lonnie. "It's Lonnie!" Jane says as everyone claps. Misty jumps down from one of the blocks she was standing on, and stands next to Jay. "Not bad" Jay said.

Misty smiles proudly, "You should put me on the team." Lonnie says. Misty and Jay look at each other and shrug. Before they could say anything Chad buts in. "Hey, what?! No, no, no. We'll be the laughing stock of the league. What's gonna happen next? We'll have girls playing Tourney?"

"So?" Jay asks and Misty looks at him annoyed, Misty crosses her arms. Chad made this same argument when she became captain. "So? Have you not read the rule book?" He takes out the rule book, Misty rolls her eyes. " Section 2, Paragraph 3, 11-4. "A team will be comprised of a captain, a co-captain, and eight men." You should read the rule book." Misty rolled her eyes and looks at Chad, "Okay, yeah, but you're down a man. You know, when Jay became co-captain." Lonnie says in rebuttal. "Exactly. We are down a man." Chad says.

Misty rolls her eyes and stands next to Lonnie. "Chad look at who your team captain is." Misty said crossing her arms. Chad looks over at Misty, who was indeed a girl. "W-Well, we can't really say no to you because you are the queen, and besides, the rule book didn't say anything about the captain or co-captain being a girl." He scoffs. She rolls her eyes. "Jay" Lonnie looks at Jay. "I'm sorry . Coach trusts me. I'm not going to stay co-captain if I just throw out the rule book." Jay says, Misty and Lonnie look at him surprised. "If my mother thought that way, she would have lost the war." Lonnie says, causing Chad to scoff in response.

Misty looks at Jay crossing her arms, "Really, Jay, you are on Chad's side? I would have loved Lonnie to be on the team, and just because you are co-captain, doesn't mean you get to make the decisions by yourself. We are supposed to make them together, as a team." She said angrily walking off to go find Lonnie. "Practice is over!" She shouts to everyone else as she leaves the amphitheater.

Misty was in Carlos and Jay's dorm, she was sitting on the edge of Carlos' bed petting Dude. "How to get out of the friend zone?" Carlos repeats as he types on his laptop. Misty looks over at him confused and her and Dude look over his shoulder a bit. Carlos looks back at them, "I see you both reading over my shoulder." Misty shrugs, "You just need to do it. I've seen the way she looks at you, she likes you Carlos." Misty says.

Before Carlos could respond, Mal bursts through the door and closes and locks it behind her. She paces for a bit then her head tilts back a bit and her eyes flash green. Misty stands up and walks over to her. "Whoa. Easy girl" Carlos says to Mal, this makes Mal look over at him. "What? You think this is so easy?! You don't have people taking a photo of you every single time you open your mouth to say boo! I mean, it's not that I could even say, "Boo," but, you know what I-" Misty stays by her side just in case something happens.

"I'm sorry." Carlos says going back to looking at his computer. "Carlos, don't you ever miss screaming at people and just making them run away from you?" Mal asks. Carlos gives her a confused look. Misty gives her a worried look, "You're thinking of my mother, and I was usually on the other end of that. So, not really. No." Carlos says. Then his eyes widened as he remembers something. He stands up form his bed and moves his laptop to the side to stand in front of Mal.

"Oh, hey! Did you bring it?" Carlos asks. Misty tilts her head and gave a confused look. Mal nods and as she was about to give him, whatever she was supposed to bring, they hear a door open. They all stop what they are doing and look to see who had opened the door. Chad walks in trying to be sneaky, not thinking anyone was in the room. Chad walks to the 3D printer on the table in the middle of the room.

They all glare at him, Chad looks up and sees the three people in the room looking at him. He walks slowly to the table in the middle of the room "Hi. Just came to use your 3D printer. Won't be a sec." He says as he slowly walks to the table in the middle of the room. Before he could get any closer Carlos says "How'd you get a key to my room?" He crossed his arms. Chad looked at the key he was holding in his hand, he had acted like that was the first time he had ever saw the key.

He looks back up at the three of them, "Oh, I printed it off last time I was in here. Uh... you guys were sleeping. Look, I just-- Your printer's so much better than mine, and you install these hacks and everything runs so much smoother than mine and--" Chad explains as the three looked at him with a annoyed look. Before Chad could finish his 'explanation,' Carlos interrupted him, fed up with Chad at this point in time. "Out! Now." Carlos motions for the door.  

Chad sighs and starts to walk towards the door, key still in hand. Carlos notices this, "Chad!" Chad turns around and shrugs, "What?" He asks, playing dumb. Carlos rolls his eyes and mentions for the key in his hand. "Leave the key." Chad sighs and raises up the key and places it on the table, then he leaves the room closing the door behind him.

After he leaves Carlos turns to Mal, who has zoned out during the whole interaction. "Mal?" He asks, snapping Mal out of her little trance. She looks at him and hums in response. "My potion?" He asks. Misty tilts her head in confusion and she sits back onto Carlos' bed petting Dude. "Oh yeah." She says nonchalant  and pulls out a little container and opens it and pulls out a little gummy and shows it to Carlos. 

His eyes light up the sight of the gummy in Mal's hand. "So, this thing will make me say what I really feel to Jane?" He asks looking back at Mal. Misty's eyes widened a bit, but she had kept quiet not wanting to pry in the conversation. Mal nods, "Yeah. I mean, this is a truth gummy, so take it or leave it." She says, and Carlos smiles. "Perfect" He says going to take the gummy from Mal. Before she handed it to him, she pulls it away and looks at him with a serious look.

"Hold on, though. Are you sure that you want to be taking this? Because this is gonna make you say the truth all the time, no matter what, and the only reason that I'm asking is because I know that if I took this right now, I would get myself sent back to the Isle. Which, it's not that that sounds super unappealing, but, you know..." Mal says nervously, Misty gives her a sympathetic smile. Carlos just looks at her and shrugs. "Yeah. I'll take my chances, I guess." 

Mal sighs and puts her hands at her side, the gummy still in her hand. Before Misty could react, Dude stands up and runs to Mal and eats the gummy. Mal and Misty notice and gasps, "Bad dog!" Mal says as Dude jumps back onto Carlos' bed. Misty looks at the dog in shock. Dude shakes of like he had just came out of the water. The he looks up and both Carlos and Mal and speaks. "Man, that thing was nasty! And you-" He looks at Carlos. " you just got to man up." 

Everyone looks at the dog shocked that words came out of his mouth. Misty stands up and goes top stand beside Mal. "Must've been that truth gummy" She whispers to her. "I couldn't tell" Mal says sarcastically still looking at Dude. "And while you're at it, scratch my butt." Everyone just stares at him. "You heard him. Scratch his butt." Mal says before turning on her heels and leaving the room, leaving Misty and Carlos with the dog. Carlos turns to Mal, 

"Mal. You're just gonna leave me with him?" He asks, then he turns to Misty. She looks back at him then shakes her head. "Nope" she says walking out the same way Mal had. "Come on" Carlos says as she walks out.

---Meanwhile---

On the Isle of the Lost, The Daughter of Ursula: Uma, and her first mate, the son of Captain Hook: Harry Hook were at Ursula's fish and chips shop. Uma was serving orders and Harry was. behind the counter eating some food that Uma had given her. The tv had been on displaying the Auradon news. He turns around and sees Mal and Ben on the screen, he scoffs and throws a bit of food at the screen. 

Then it cut to a interview with the Queen of Auradon: Misty. He looks up at the screen and tilts his head to the side and hums at the sight of her. He watched as the interview continued, not paying to much attention to what was being said. What he was most interested in was the Queen. "Interesting..." He says with a little smirk and continues eating his food.
