Chapter 10

Hailey's POV

I woke up stretched in his bed, the sun light pouring through the curtains slightly and the big bed empty with just me on it. The papers that were tossed about on the sheet the night prior were now gone and on the foot of the bed was a single red nose and a note. I smiled and sat up, reaching for the note and opening the envelope quickly. I admired the long and slanted hand writing before I began reading.

"Morning love, hope you slept well.

I wont see you until tomorrow, I'm out hunting with Niall and Louis ( animals don't worry).

I'll be back tomorrow morning, really early so I can get things in order for the big deal.

Don't think I forgot its your 19th birthday.

xx Harry."

 I smiled starring down at the note, feeling my cheeks starting to seize up from smiling so hard. I rubbed my cheek and tried to relax my smile as I stood up, smelling the rose. I walked over to his closet, pulling open the heavy door as the aroma of his cologne blew out. I stepped in turning on the light, illuminating a walk in closet. I stepped over to where the hoodies were hanging and gladly took one off the hanger, pulling the black, oversized, comfy hoodie over my body and switching the light off. I walked over of his room and turned the corner, twirling the rose in my hand. I smacked into something, immediately causing a splitting headache to start.

"Ow." I mumbled rubbing my temples.

"Maybe watch where you're going." The grumpy voice said making me sigh and look up at Zayn who starred down at me heavily.

"Harry give that to you after he had his way with you?" HE asked making my jaw drop.

"Shut up." I said loudly, shoving him making him growl.

"He'll get it eventually." He said pushing past me, hitting my shoulder with his making me tumble back.

"Atleast someone's interested in me. Maybe if you learned how to smile or, I don't know, be friendly. You might be able to feel what it feels like to be wanted." I snapped back making him freeze and turn to face me, his brows furrowed making me immediately regret it.

"Don't think that I wont hesitate to snap you neck Hailey." He said loudly and within half a second he was write infront of me, holding onto my bracelet. He yanked and pulled it apart, the gems falling to the ground making me gasp.

"It's that easy." He growled.

"What's going on here?" Liam's voice came in.

"Hailey and I were just having a nice chat." He said before disappearing. I shuttered and Liam came up behind me, pulling me into him making me jump. I shook him off of me and bent down, picking up the rocks in my hands trying to collect it as best as possible.

"Let me help." HE said bending down as I shook my head.

"I shouldn't have said what I did, I instigated it." I said quickly as I continued to collect the rocks.

"He needed to hear it he's an asshole." He said. Within seconds out of no where I started crying, the image of the pure anger flashing through my mind.

'Shh it's okay." Liam said pullng me up and into a hug as I clinged onto him. He lifted me up and I buried my head into his shoulder, holding onto him tightly. I felt my body be placed down on a comfy mattress and as I pulled away I was back in Harry's bed.

"Stay here I'll fix you some breakfast." He said brushing the hair out of my face before leaving me alone and scared in the bedroom.

I woke up to the sound of yelling. I groaned and rolled over, looking at the clock. It was 11:42pm. I spent the entire day locked up in Harry's  bedroom and Liam would come hangout with me for a bit but other then that I just spent it sleeping. The yelling continued and something smashed making me snap out of it. I stood up, pulling the sheets off of me as I walked over to the door, opening it slightly and looking down the hall. I could distinctively hear Harry's voice yelling along with Zayn's and Liam's. Evenutally I heard Niall's and Louis' making me realize they were all back. I walked down the hall quickly and down to the bottom of the stairs where I could see Harry screaming at Zayn, shoving him as the three boys let them get it out.

"What the hell is wrong with you I gave her that bracelet to be protected by idiots like you." He yelled shoving him so hard that his back smacked against the ground. He jumped ontop of him and punched him making me gasp but all five of them didn't even look over at me.

"She deserved it she was being a bitch. Besides I did you a favour, now you can actually have her way with her like we all know you want to." Zayn screamed making harry's face turn over, his beautiful green eyes disappearing replaced by a dark red, almost black colour.

"Stop!" I yelled making Harry look over at me, his fangs sticking out. Immediately his eyes softened over and he closed his mouth.

"Hailey go upstairs." He ordered.

"It's hard when you two are screaming at eachother down here." I said crossing my arms.

"Yeah because you were being a stupid bitch." Zayn said pushing Harry off of him and running over to me making me tumble back.

"Go upstairs and lie down and don't come out until I'm done beating the shit out of Harry." Zayn ordered, locking eyes with me.

"Zayn!" Someone yelled, it now being Liam who lunged at him. I wanted to stay but my body involuntary moved up the staircase, into harry's room and under the covers, waiting for someone to retrieve me.

I lied facing the window, watching the night sky not feeling the need to sleep. I heard the bedroom door open making me slowly look over, watching a tall figure sneak in. If  it wasn't for the curls I wouldn't have known it was him. The blankets were lifted up and he slipped under then, lying right beside me.

"Are you okay?" He whispered. I was quiet, not saying anything just facing the window.

"Hail." He whispered, shifting over and brushing the hair off of my shoulder. He kissed it making me close my eyes. I spun around in the bed and he wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me into him as our legs locked into each other, my face buried in his chest.

"No." I mumbled as he attempted to sooth me.

"It's okay, I'm here now and I wont let anything happen to you." He said running his hand inside the hoodie, up and down my bare back. I closed my eyes and didn't fight it, I just enjoyed the hold he had on me. For once not denying the feelings I had for him. Because some where past the darkness I saw the light within Harry and I saw the human inside of him. I saw the side that any single girl could fall in love with if he opened up to them enough.

"Thank you." I whispered. He kissed my head and kept it there was I listened to his heart beat.

"There's a part of me, where it is a natural instinct to keep you safe; to keep you with me at all times. I cant ignore that instinct." He said making me freeze up, having no idea what to say back. Every time i'm with him he surprises me more and more. I just held ontop him tighter, kissing his cheek.

Harry's POV

It was about 7:00am when I woke up, I have troubles sleeping past 8 lately. Hailey was still wrapped in my hold making me smile as I starred down at her, admiring how she looked in that hoodie and wanting her to wear it every single day. Her eyes fluttered a lot when she slept which made me wonder what she was dreaming about. I brushed the hair out of her face, running my thumb over her jaw line. Today she was turning 19, she was getting to grow up. I had a surprise for her and I couldn't wait to watch it all unravel. The boys have given us the day, they all went hunting up farther in the mountains and then were going to stay back at the house in town. I arranged for her parents to come up here, I told them that she came home last night and was too tired to call them so I wanted to surprise her. As far they know, I'm an old friend of Hailey's. I knew that this meant she would be going home probably after this and I was okay with that. I knew that keeping Hailey with me was a mistake, it was to protect our secret and protect her from Rebecca and Elliot but I have some friends that are tracking them for us, some vampires that have been around for a long time. They'll let me know if they're heading over this way and if that day comes I'll collect Hailey. I haven't told the boys about this plan, I know they'll be mad considering we moved to keep her safe but i'm giving her what she wants, her parents

I told them to come early so we could have a nice brunch outside. I quietly got up and got my things together, going in the shower and getting dressed into something a little nicer. I had gone out and picked a dress for her, once that was summery. I then went and cooked the food before setting it out on the table. By the time I was done cooking and getting things together it was 10:00 and they were supposed to be here at 11:00. I walked up the stairs and into the bedroom where she was still sleeping. I chuckled silently and walked over to the bed, getting on it and leaning over her. I brought my head down and kissed her cheek making her sigh slightly, her body starting to stir.

"Time to wake up birthday girl." I said in her ear making her turn over causing me to laugh.

"I have a surprise for you." I said making her look over at me, popping one eye open. I laughed and she smiled at me.

"What is it?" She asked.

"I cant tell, that would ruin the surprise. Get up and be ready for no later then 11:00." I said befre getting off the bed and leaving her to get ready.

"Okay i'm ready." She called from up the stairs. I laughed and waited at the bottom for her to appear. Once she did it was like something out of a movie and my heart skipped a million beats. She walked down the stairs in the dress that fit her perfectly with her hair in loose curls. She smiled as she reached closer and closer to me and once she was right infront of me she surprised me by wrapping her arms around my neck.

"Thank you for the dress." She whispered makng me smile. I wrapped my arms around her waist and picked her up making her laugh as I spun around and put her on the ground.

"You're very welcome." I whispered, kissing her nose making her giggle. Everytime she did something cute like that I felt like I was back at a young age crushing on a girl I would never have.

The door bell rang interrupting us making her loose up at me quickly.

"That's you're surprise go answer." I said making her smile widely. She walked over to the door quickly, opening it and gasping once she found out who it was.

"Mom, dad!" She screamed, hugging both of them as I stood back and watched smiling. They exchanged a well needed reunion and then Hailey turned to me with the most genuine smile ever.

"Mom and dad, this is Harry." She said introducing us. I had talked to them on the phone but had never met them. I shook there hands and I was surprised with myself, I could smell them but I was just as immune to them as I was Hailey.

"Lunch is right this way." I said motioning down the hall. I followed them and Hailey pulled me to the side.

"Harry thank you so much I could kiss you!" She said quietly making me wink at her.

"So do it." I said making her shove me.

"What am I going to say to them I don't have a cover." She said starting to panic.

"They think i'm a close friend, tell them we met when you went on your road trip. You ended up as far as LA then drove back." I said making her nod and then we continued out to the kitchen where her parents were.

It took a while for us to finish our meal because the entire time we were laughing and joking around but once we were done I cleared everyone's dishes and headed out of the dinning room and into the kitchen. I dumped them in the sink and turned the tap on, hearing footsteps come in making me look over my shoulder. Hailey stood behind me with her hands in one another as she smiled.

"Thank you so much." She said coming up beside me. I turned off the tap and faced her smiling.

"My pleasure." I said putting my hand on her hip. She brushed a piece of hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear and kept her gaze on the floor. She was biting down on her lip, she was either nervous, uncomfortable or needed to say something.

"What is it?" I asked studying her face. Her dark eyes finally met mine.

"They asked me to come home." She said making me nod.

"I figured they would, and it's okay  you can. I'm not going to stop you from being with your family."

"I told them I'm staying." She cut me off making my eyes widen. "If that's okay, I can go home I mean I'm sure Zayn would probably enjoy if I was out of his hair." She continued making me smile widely and shake my head.

"Of course that's fine." I said pulling her closer to me making her smile. I had both of my hands on her waist and she slowly brought her hands up and wrapped her arms around my neck, twirling a curl in one of her fingers. We stood there holding onto eachother and smiling at eachother. I brought my forehead to hers and felt her lean against me slightly. It was crazy to think that this was us, that each minute we spend together we grow closer and my urges for her grow stronger.

"Is it okay if I kiss you?" I whispered. She stood still for a bit before I felt a tiny nod against my forehead. I smiled and slowly brought our noses together as she hesitated. She went on her tippy toes and slowly her small, smooth lips were pressed against mine kissing me. Our lips worked away at eachother for the first time and it was almost impossible not to rip this dress off of her. She exhaled slightly against my skin as I deepened the kiss causing her to tighten her grip on me. She tugged at me as I begged for entrance which was almost immediately given to me. Our tongues battled for dominance as I pushed her against the counter causing her to gasp. Her tiny hands ran down my neck as she pulled away, leaning into me breathing heavily. She ran her hands down my shoulders and arms, then back up my chest to my neck.

"Wow." She whispered making me laugh.

"Go back out there, i'll bring the dessert." I said pulling away looking down into her eyes that were full with lust.

"I cant go out like this." She said starring up at me.

"Like what? Beautiful?" I asked making her roll her eyes and laugh. I smiled and brought one of my hands up to her face.

"Just go I'll meet you out there." I said making her nod. I grabbed the dessert out of the freezer and then i went into the back room, grabbing a gift  bag that i had set aside for her. As I walked into the room she looked up at me, giving me the sexiest grin ever. I set the dessert down and put plates out as her parents commented on how good it was. I took my seat next to Hailey and I put the gift on the table infront of her.

"Happy birthday." I said making her smile over at me.

"Oh Hail open it!" Her mom cheered. She smiled and pulled out the tissue and then the square box. She popped it open and then looked over at me smiling.

"What is it?" Her dad asked. Hailey took the bracelet in between her fingers and held it up, all the gems reflecting in the sun rays through the window. She smiled starring down at the bracelet i replaced.

"Will you put it on for me?" She asked making me nod. I took it and wrapped it around her left wrist making her smile.

"Thank you." She whispered.
