Unexpected Meeting

17:18, 25 October 2014

Ed's POV

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

My heart skipped a beat. It was Louise. Louise was actually here! Calm down!

"Erm I'm just helping out a friend in the kitchens for the week, she was short on staff so I said I would help her." I informed her. "What about you?"

"I'm working in the kitchens too. I'm head chef." She smiled proudly to herself.

"So you're like my boss?" I asked.

"Yeah, I guess I am." She laughed. "I'm going to be a bitch in the kitchen. Watch out."

"Right, I will." I grinned. "You seen Harry lately?"

"Nope. I'm way over him. I'm a single pringle and ready to mingle." She smiled.

She was single!!! Yes! And Harry didn't mind when I told him I liked her. Yay!

"Likewise." I told her to clarify that I was single too. I didn't want to confuse her in case she actually liked me. She probably didn't though...

"Was it you who was singing just then?" She asked shyly.

"Oh you heard that?" How embarrassing? She probably thought I was crap.

"Yeah you were amazing! Like woah, I wish I could sing like that. And the lyrics too... mind blowing." She complimented.

I tried not to blush.

"Thanks, it means a lot." I replied.

"We should jam some time." She suggested.

"Yeah! That would be awesome. You play?" I held up Cyril (my guitar).

"Yep. Piano, violin and guitar." She informed me.

"Oh that's so cool." I complimented.

"So are you sharing a room with anyone?" I decided to ask. What a random question?

"No, but I think I've sort of made a friend. Some enthusiastic Spanish guy wanted some moisturiser. His name was-"

"Carlos?" I finished her sentence. So she was the girl next door.

"Yeah, you know him?" She asked.

"We share a room." I told her.

"Lucky you." She smiled.

"He's alright I guess. Bit wild, but he's alright."

"Yeah."

It went silent. What should I say? Should I invite her to my room? Or would that sound weird? I wanted to know more about her.

"You wanna chill with Carlos and me then, so you're not on your own?" I suggested. There. I said it.

"Yeah." She nodded eagerly. "That'd be cool."

"I think we're just next door to you anyway."

"Great." She smiled and we began to walk.

"Oh wait, I forgot Cyril." I leaped back into the room.

"Cyril?" Louise questioned from the doorway.

Crap. She probably thought I was a right weirdo naming my guitar.

"I mean... my guitar." I said.

"Ed, did you named your guitar Cyril?" She was on the verge of laughter.

"Might have..." I picked the guitar up feeling stupid.

"Why? She looks much more like a... Barbara." Louise said to my surprise. Maybe she didn't think naming guitars was weird.

"A Barbara? C'mon now be serious." I looked at her.

"What's wrong with Barbara?"

"Nothing..." I pretended.

"You're such a liar." She scoffed.

"Like you can talk, Yoda." I joked.

"Yeah whatever." She grinned.

We descended down the pathway towards the dorms (the rooms). I couldn't believe what was happening. This girl had been traveling through my mind for weeks and she was with me, right now.

The snow crunched beneath us. It had been snowing all this month. However it hadn't snowed today, but it did a lot last night so it stretched just above our ankles.

"I love the snow." Louise told me. She liked the snow. There, that was something I knew about her.

"So do I. I used to love making snowmen and having snowball fights." I explained.

"Used to?" She bent down and picked up a ball of snow. She held it in her hands and looked at me.

"Well, I still do."

"So do I." She threw her snowball and it hit my arm.

I picked up some snow.

"You're so going to regret that." I laughed and threw one at her.

"Oh it's on!" She giggled and so it began.

Balls of snow were launched here, there and everywhere. Shooting wildly in the air, white flicks splattered on us both, caking us in the white dust that was the snow.

Using the bench as a shield I, crouched down and picked up more snow. I avalanched them towards her and she did the same.

She ran around the bench and covered my back in snow.

"Ahhh!!" I leaped up and she started to run.

I chased after her, a grin plastered on both our faces.

"Ahhh, snow fell down my back." I jumped up and down as the ice cold water trickled down my back. "It's so cold!"

Louise just laughed at me.

"Do you surrender?" She smirked.

"Never!" I yelled and launched one at her.

"Oh you're so dead!" We ran around the whole camp, throwing snow at one another.

My hands were all red and numb but I didn't care.

I went to throw one at her when I hit a person walking by. I didn't know anyone else was here. They hadn't seen me yet. Louise and I looked at each other.

"I'm covered in snow!" The person yelled, who couldn't quite see us through the snow that was in her face.

"Run!" Louise and I both said in sync.

We jumped over benches and swerved around corners, trying to be fast yet careful not to trip. We reached the outside of my room.

"Do you think she saw us?" Louise breathlessly asked.

"Nahh." I replied. "That was so fun."

"I know!" She exclaimed.

We both looked down at ourselves. We were drenched. I began to shiver and so did she.

"I'll come round in a bit, yeah? I think I'm going to change out of these wet clothes and have a shower." Louise told me.

"Yeah, same. See ya in a bit." I waved.

"See ya, Ed." She bit her lip and walked off into the room next door.

I shoved my door open and collapsed on to my bed in a daze.

"You okay there, chico?" Carlos asked.

"No, I'm more than okay. I'm feeling fucking AMAZING!" I replied.

"Oooh I know that face. Someone's met a girl." Carlos sat on the edge of my bed.

I just sighed happily.

"Oh my, you're soaking!" Carlos felt my oversized red hoodie.

"I know, I had a snowball fight. I better change." I told him.

"Oh a snowball fight with this girl of yours?" Carlos quizzed.

"She isn't my 'girl' or anything. I barely know her... but... I dunno." I went all shy.

"What's her name?"

"It's Louise from next door." I admitted. Why did I tell him that? He was probably going to spill the beans. "Don't say anything to her."

"Hey, Carlos can keep a secret."

"Thanks." I replied. "She's coming over to chill in a bit so I better change." I sat up next to him.

"Oooh yay! I love making new friends. This is going to be the start of something beautiful." Carlos smiled. At least there won't be any dull moments with Carlos around.

I walked in to the bathroom and turned on the shower. I was going to be here for 5 days with Louise. We were bound to get to know each other and she may even start to like me. It was pretty clear I liked her.

But did she know I did?
