EIGHT YEARS LATER

"Chase, come here will ya?" I shout through the forest, a smile on my face. "We're going home."

"But mommy, I wanna stay here for a while still. We've only been here for like-"

"Three hours." I cut the small boy off.

"Oh." The little one replies, obviously having lost track of time. "But I want to train more. I wanna be as strong as you and mama Taylor."

I lift the little guy up from the ground and kiss his forehead. "You will be." I smile at him. "You know what?"

"What, mom?" He says, a bit of annoyance playing on his face.

"You'll be even stronger than your moms. Im sure of that." I say, putting him down on the ground again.

He makes an excited jump. "Really?!" He shouts excitedly.

I nod, smiling a bright smile at him. "Whoa!" He shouts, a little growl coming out too in the meantime. I giggle at the little man.

"Let's go home now shall we? I think mommy already has dinner ready." I say.

"Is it yum?" He asks, putting his hands in his pockets and shrugging his shoulders.

"I believe she is making carrots with broccoli and some potatoes." I say, petting his hair.

He throws his hands in the air excitedly. "Oh my! That is yum!"

I can't help but laugh at the 5 year old's words. "I raised you well, didn't I?"

"Sorry mom, what did you say?" He asks, smiling at me.

"Nothing." I mumble. "Race home?" I say, already shifting into my wolf-self.

"Yeah!" He says, shifting into his wolf-form too. His beautiful white fur shines in the spring sun and his blue eyes shine just as much as his mother's do.

"3...2...1...Go!" He shouts before taking off towards the village. Taylor and I had decided to buy an apartment in Wadeson before Chase was born. We figured it would be close enough to our cabin and to all the things we needed right now.

"I won!" Chase yelled as soon as we reached the edge of the forest.

"Ughh, again!" I say faking my annoyance as we both shift back into our human selfs before any 'normal' human can possibly spot us. We step out of the woods and onto the small path that leads to the town.

"Im hungry." The little one complains after about five minutes. "And tired."

"Want me to carry you huh?" I say, already picking the exhausted boy up from the ground and putting him on my shoulders.

"Thanks mommy." He says while yawning.

"Mama Taylor scared me really badly here once." I comment as we walk through the oh so familiar dark alleyway.

Chase lets out a small laugh. "How?"

"Well, when we were still younger," I start. "Your mom and I didn't know each other so well yet and the first night I met her, she scared me here when it was completely dark. She just jumped out of the darkness."

"But mom, you can see in the dark too, cant you?" He asks, oblivious to the fact that I hadn't been a werewolf then yet.

"Not then yet honey." I say. "I wasn't a wolf then yet."

"Oh!" Chase says then, remembering something. "I remember! Mom has told me this before. She said she was very in love with you already. Even when you weren't a wolf yet."

"Oh she told you that huh?" I ask the little guy with a grin on my face.

"Mom," He continues in a serious manner. "What is that? Love?"

'Oh gosh..' I thought to myself as I started talking. "Uhmm.. well loving someone is when you care a lot about someone and want to spend a lot of time with them."

"Hmm.." Chase says, his brains almost audibly cracking and spinning. "So you still love mommy then? After all that time?"

I giggle at his cute words. "Yes I do. A lot actually." I answer.

"I love you and mommy a lot too." He says then. We continue our way home and arrive when it's already dark, due to all the talking we did on the way.

————————————————————————————————————

"Hey little one." Taylor says to Chase as we walk into our apartment. It's nothing big but its just the right size for our little family.

"Hi mom." Chase replies, receiving the kiss in his cheek that his mother is giving him. He runs to the living room after that. "Aunt Selena!" I hear him yell then and Taylor and I both laugh.

"You hadn't told him yet, I suspect?" Taylor smiles at me. I shake my head no. "I figured he'd find out that she would be here when he would come home." The blonde woman smiles and presses her lips onto mine.

"Hi babe," She says. "How was your afternoon? Did you guys have fun?"

"Yes we did. He's becoming really fast." I tell my beautiful match proudly. "And gosh, he looks so much like you, especially in his wolf-form."

"My DNA." Taylor smiles, we both hear Chase burp loudly from the living room, one of his new discovered 'talents'. "Your behaviour however, miss Kloss." She says as we both laugh loudly.

"Excuse me!" We hear the little one shout from the living room, followed by Selena's loud laughter. I smile and hug my match from behind as she continues her cooking. "Your cooking skills are getting better and better it seems. Meat and vegetables. So many undiscovered talents you have." I say and I kiss her cheeks. "It smells so good."

"You'll have to taste it first. Don't judge yet." Taylor smiles, turning around to peck my cheek quickly. I giggle and walk over to the living room. "Look who we have here." I say. "Getting bigger and bigger every time I see you."

Selena gets up from the couch and smacks my arm playfully. "If I wouldn't have been pregnant, this would have been a big insult, Kloss." She smiles while hugging me.

"It was meant as a compliment." I smile, sticking my tongue out at her.

"Yeah, yeah." She says, sitting down again, smiling.

"Where's Robin?" I ask the half-wolf, half-vamp.

"Oh, didn't Taylor tell you? He couldn't make it, he'll be here next month for Chase's birthday though." Selena replies.

"Oh okay, fun that he will come around for his birthday." I reply. Robin is Selena's match. She and him met on an official wolf meeting three years ago and hit off immediately. And here she is, six months pregnant.

"Yeah, plus we both figured that this weekend is maybe better spent with just the four of us." Selena says, her tone a bit softer so that Chase, who was watching tv now, couldn't hear it. She meant Taylor, Chase, her and I by 'the four of us'. It was Cara's remembrance weekend and every year we would go and visit the apple tree. It's not that Robin didn't want this or anything, he didn't mind at all, but I understand their decision.

"I understand." I say, squeezing the dark haired woman's shoulder.

"Dinner is ready!" Taylor shouts from the kitchen, making Chase jump up from his chair and run out of the living room immediately. Selena and I share a laugh before also making our way to the delicious smelling food.

————————————————————————————————————————

"Im pregnant Cara." Selena smiled as Taylor and I had decided to give the woman some space and went to play with Chase, in the fields. We already had our separate 'moments' at the tree for this year.

Selena went and sat down against the tree. "I still miss you sometimes." Selena confesses, as if it's one of the biggest secret she holds.

"Im happy now however. I really am." She says, a smile back on her face. "You'd probably like him. Robin I mean. Or you'd be super jealous. Maybe your are super jealous." Selena laughs. "You probably found someone up there too though. Thats so you." She laughs.

"But I do miss you still sometimes. And I think about you sometimes. I want you to know that." Selena says, her smile growing smaller. "Ill never forget you, us, or what we had. Okay?"

She remained seated against the tree for a while, as Taylor and I kept on playing with Chase. Running around in our human-forms with the tiny man. After a while, she joined and started running around with the little one as well, until she grew too tired with that big belly of hers. We made our way home not much later, in our wolf forms of course, since that was like a hundred times faster than human running. I enjoyed looking at my son and match on the way home, who looked so much alike in their wolf form.

When we came home, we said our goodbyes to Selena, who had to catch a train home.

"Bye Auntie Selena." Chase says, kissing Selena's cheek sweetly.

"See you soon little one." Selena says. "Its almost your birthday." She smiles.

"I can't wait." Chase replied happily and smiles at the dark haired woman.

We hug and say our goodbyes too before she gets on a train and heads off to her own hometown. Yes, that is still the same town where Taylor and I had hidden all these years ago.

——————————————————————————————————————

Later that night Taylor and I are laying in bed together. Talking about our day still as we lay in each other's arms.

"Chase asked yesterday, if I loved you still." I say, smiling up at my match, who giggles.

"And?" She asks. "What did you say?"

"I said no." I joke, receiving a tickle torture in my belly. I cant help but let out loud laughs and shrieks. "Okay, okay. Of course I said yes." I laugh.

She laughs too. It's still the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. Chase's laugh does come pretty close however.

"I love you so much." I say then, as were serious again. "I realise that more and more, every day."

I see her cheeks turn red. And even after all these years, I'm still proud to make her blush. "I love you too." She says, as she kisses my cheek lovingly. "Quite a lot, I've realised." She adds, with a big smile on her face.

"Cuddles?" I ask, pulling her closer to me.

"Cuddles." She says, still in her special, funny way.
