...Twenty five

-The last chapter of this book-

"Morning." I hear her say. I slowly open my eyes and notice the sun shining into the cabin peacefully. I then move my head to the right to look into her beautiful blue eyes, which are of course, shining as always.


"Morning." I hear myself say, my voice hoarse as I speak. She smiles sweetly and kisses my forehead. "Did I already tell you that I love you?" She asks, moving a strain of hair out of my face and placing it behind my ear.

"Yes you did." I say, smiling back at her.


"Well, ill tell you again anyway." She says, that smile on her face growing even bigger. "I love you, Karlie Kloss."

I giggle at her cuteness. "And I love you Taylor Swift." I say before a loud crack sounds through the wooden cabin and a very cheery couple stands in the doorframe.

"And I love the both of you too, bunch of cheesy creatures." Cara says, a broad grin on her face. Selena stands next to her, smiling at the situation. It is then that I realise that I am still naked.

"Oh god." I mumble, pulling the blankets up to cover my body.

"Hey Taylor," Cara says, addressing my girlfriend. "I finally understand what you see in her." Cara says while already laughing at her own comment. Selena lets out a snorted laugh too and punches her girlfriends arm playfully. Taylor laughs with them and wiggles her eyebrows playfully right after. I smile at the situation, my cheeks however, bright red.

"So are you guys ready?" Selena asks after the laughter has died down.


I take a deep breath and stare at the ceiling while saying: "Well, do we have a choice?".

"Well.." Taylor starts.


"Except for killing her I mean." I interrupt her. 

Cara and her share a smile before she says: "Well, no then. No we don't have a choice. We're going to have to fight her and scare her far, far away from her." 



"Sounds like a well enough plan." Taylor comments dryly.


"Well then, get your furry asses out of bed and join us out here in a few minutes." Cara says, taking Selena's hand in hers and pulling her out of the cabin, giving us some privacy.

I sigh deeply and turn to my beautiful match once more. "We'll be fine." She whispers as she kisses my head sweetly. "It'll be fine."

I sigh again and hold onto her, scared of what is to come. 'How did I, Karlie Kloss, end up here? Laying in bed with my werewolf girlfriend before fighting off the meanest werewolf bitch i've ever met. If you don't count Adam of course.' I think to myself before I press a kiss on Taylor's cheek.

"Try not to worry too much will you?" She asks, a smile on her face as she looks at me. "We're stronger than she is."

I nod. "Ill try." I mumble. She kisses my forehead one last time before we both get out of bed. 

"Id really like a morning shower with you, miss Kloss." She says, still smiling brightly at me. "But I think we will have to do that later, since were in kind of a hurry."


"Oh, Ill remind you of that promise later then." I say as we both get dressed and quickly eat something before stepping outside in the cold. The soft breeze is chilly but get comforting and waking us up in some way. Spring is on it's way and so were better days, we could all feel it.

"There they are, them lovebirds." Cara says in her funny sounding accent.

"You guys okay?" Selena asks, looking at us with a sympathetic smile on her face.

"Yeah we're fine." I say, linking my fingers with Taylor's.

"Feeling strong?" Cara asks, smiling as well.

"Actually yes." Taylor answers as I nod at the other couple.


"Good, I think we'll need that." Cara says, linking hands with Selena. We all then turned around and started walking into the woods. It all seemed so official, and to say I'm scared is an understatement. Of course I feel strong, but will it all be enough to defeat that classic wolf?

"Relax babe." Taylor says, reading my mind of course.

We walk and walk through those damn woods, but after a long time there is still no sign of Toni. "How will we even know if she will actually meet us here?" I ask the group.


"Oh trust me," Selena says. "She knows we're here."

I shiver and tighten my grip around Taylor's hand. The sun is shining through the trees, making it all look like some kind of fairytale. I know it isn't though, since theres a classic werewolf hunting for three wolfs and a vampire. What kind of fairytale is that?

I look around me, the sun melting away the thin layer of snow that is still laid out on the leafs and branches of the high and probably very old pine trees. I see a small, half frozen lake when I look ahead of me. I had never even been in this part of the forest.


"Ill fly up and see if I can spot her somewhere." Cara says, shooting up into the sky not a second later. We all stand there, looking up at Cara, who is soaring around above us, looking for the scary, grey haired wolf.


"No sign of her yet." She says as she lands safely on the ground again.

"What if she won't show up, guys?" I ask, obviously uncertain of the plan we came up with.

"Karlie, she will. She knows you guys will be here at least and will maybe even bring some help with her."

'Oh god..' I think to myself as I feel Taylor give my hand a tight squeeze.

"Wait." Cara says then. "What if she is somehow getting help from someone right now, and she is still traveling there or here or whatever? Thats a possibility right? I mean why else would she be late?"

The group stays quiet for some time before Selena and Taylor both start nodding yes. "I guess so." Taylor mumbles.

"Who could she be getting help from though? Isn't everyone else dead, from the grey pack I mean?" 



"There is probably always someone she could find." Selena says, shrugging her shoulders.

"Maybe its best.." Taylor says then, still thinking as she speaks. "Maybe its best if we don't waste our much needed energy by walking out here, but if we go back to my cabin instead?"


"I agree." Cara instantly says. "Im hungry and tired."

I hear Selena giggle at her girlfriends quick commenting. "Lets go for a little hunt then, shall we?" Cara responds by nodding her head yes rapidly and shoots up in the sky while Selena quickly shifts into her furry form.

"We'll bring you something too, veggie eater." Cara shouts down at Taylor and I as she shoots away together with her match.

Taylor giggles beside me and I nudge her shoulder. "Hey, don't you laugh about that." I say, poking her side playfully. We start making our way back to the cabin, which is approximately a two hour walk, in our human form.

'What if Toni finds us now while were alone?' I can't help but think as we slowly make our way back.

"She probably won't, Karls." Taylor says. "Cara is probably right. I don't think she would risk it to defeat the four of us on her own."


"I know.." I sigh. I hate being this scared. "It's just all making it even more scary, not knowing when she will show up."



"I know." Taylor says, letting go of my hand. "Come on, we'll be home faster when we run in our wolf forms. I'm kinda done with all this strolling around." She smiles as a white flash surrounds me and she stands there in front of me in her wolf form in just a matter of seconds. She strokes her head against my legs lovingly. I pet her head and quickly switch into my wolf-self too.

"Let's go!" She growls before taking off into the distance.

"Im so fucking bored." Cara comments, walking into the kitchen area where I'm sitting, peacefully eating the vegetables she and Selena had brought in for me earlier.

"Me too." I mumble with a mouth full of this strange leaf-ish substance I'm chewing on.

"Go read a book or something, bunch of idiot's." Selena comments from the bed, where she is casually chilling on with Taylor.


"We are not like you, bunch of nerds." Cara comments back jokingly. "Karlie and I, we're smart enough already, we do not need paper to fill our overflowing brains. Right Karlie?"


"Y-yeah." I answer. Everyone laughs at my unnatural reaction.

"Actually Cara, I really like to rea-"


"Shhh! Don't you dare, Kloss." She hisses at me, smiling at me a second later.

I smile at her and throw one of the leafs from my plate, towards her.


"Ew, keep your veggies with yourself. I don't need that shit." She says, giggling as she fights away the piece of green 'food' on the table, close to her. "Vamps don't need no kale. Gimme blood and ill be happy."



"We'll you ain't getting no blood from me." I say, sticking my tongue out at her.

"A shame, maybe you, Sel and I could have some fun after all of this shit is done." She comments, wiggling her eyebrows at me.



"OH MY GOD!" Selena yells as her and Taylor are snorting from laughter at Cara's joke.

"Uhhhhmmm.." I say, also laughing loudly at the vampire's joke. "Thanks but.. no thanks." Cara starts laughing too as I add: "Maybe ask Taylor."

Laughter breaks out again as Cara shouts: "EW! No, not her. She's like my sister or something."

"And i'm not?!" I ask, as if I'm genuinely offended.


"Well Karlie, of course you are but I mean, iv'e been knowing that girl for like a lot of years and-"



"Oh my god, Cara stop explaining yourself. I was just kidding!" I laugh as I push her shoulder playfully. Her cheeks grow red and she smiles at me while Selena and Taylor are still laughing uncontrollably on the bed.

"You bitch!" Cara says then, faking her anger as she pushes out her fangs for me to see them.


"Oh wow." I comment seriously then. "I'd never seen those before."


"Impressive huh?" She says proudly. "Look what else I can do." She says before her eyecolor changes from blue to suddenly very, very red.

"Holy shit!" I swear as my mouth opens in surprise. "Thats so cool!" I say, studying her face with her creepy fangs and red eyes. "Terrifying, but so cool." 



"Thanks." She says, retreating her fangs and changing her eye colour back to their natural colour. She smiles at me before I take another bite of my green food.

I feel so lucky knowing these people. Knowing Cara, Selena and of course Taylor. I really wouldn't know what i'd do without them. I mean I probably wouldn't have half the problems I have now, but problems really don't matter when you have good people around you. Or well, good creatures in this case. Good souls.

"Where is that bitch?" Cara says, once again breaking the silence. Taylor and I are laying in bed, cuddling, half asleep. It has been twenty six hours since we have re-entered the cabin after our search for the classic wolf in the woods outside.


"Don't know." Taylor mumbles. "Maybe she already fled."

"Ha." Cara lets out a sarcastic laugh. "Well that would be fucking perfect."

I laugh at her dry commenting as I lay there with my match, secretly hoping that the stupid classic, grey wolf will never return again. That was probably all too good to be true though, since the girl probably felt like she had to prove her strength and power to us.

"I don't want to fight her." I mumble in Taylor's ear as were both laying in the bed. Cara and Selena are both fast asleep in the small spare room.

"What did you say?" Taylor whispers at me, since she's already half asleep and didn't get what I just told her. 

I sit up and hug my knees. "I don't want to fight her." I repeat, a little firmer this time.


I hear my match sigh. "I know Karlie, but we have to." She says calmly, sitting up next to me.


"Why? Why do we have to? Do we really?" I ask, trying to think as 'humanly' as I possibly can. This whole situation is ridiculous, why would the four of us fight that one mean wolf if we maybe don't even have to. Humans don't do this. "Cant we just.. talk with her or something?"



Taylor lets out a bitter laugh and wraps one arm around me. "No Karls, you know she won't listen." I sigh.


"Plus," She continues. "I can hear your thoughts and humans fight too. Humans are having wars everywhere around on this planet. Were going to try to scare her away, and she wont go unless she loses the fight. You do know that right?"

I let out a deep sigh again and lean my head on her shoulder. "I know." I say. I look outside of the window, the sky is pitch-black while the moon hides behind the clouds, giving us some light in the wooden cabin. I then look to my side and right into Taylor's beautiful shining blue eyes. 



"I love you." She says, and a smile appears on my face.


"I love you too." I say. Her eyes flicker down to my lips for a second and then back to my eyes. I lean forward a tiny bit, connecting our lips together and feeling that softness again. Kissing her relaxes me completely. My mind goes blank for as long as our lips are touching and no worry makes it's way into my system anymore.

We kiss for minutes before exhaustion takes over once more and we fall asleep in each other's arms.

The morning arrives soon. The sun seems to come up earlier and earlier these days and Cara steps out of the small room she slept in with her girlfriend.


"It has been a month." She announces, and I feel Taylor stir next to me. "It has been a month since that bitch was supposed to show up and where is she, huh?"

I shrug my shoulders tiredly while Cara leaves the cabin to hunt. A minute or twenty later, she returns with a handful of dead rabbits and another handful of vegetables. She tosses them on the table and walks into the bathroom after, her facial expressions annoyed and angry.



"Don't mind her." I hear Selena say, who is standing at the end of the bed. "She's a bit grumpy today. Probably just hungry or something."

I give her a small smile and crawl out of bed. Taylor, who is still sleeping deeply, lets out a cute grunt, feeling me leave. Selena and I improvise some breakfast and make the table. It has been our 'job' this past month.

The four of us are sitting at the breakfast table when a loud thud sounds on the roof. Taylor's eyes shoot towards mine immediately as she gets up and shifts into her wolf-form out of precaution. "Stay here." Cara says to Selena and I. "We will take a look."

The two bravest of the group step outside and come back a few minutes later. "And?" Selena and I ask at the same time. Taylor shifts back and answers: "Nothing."

"It was probably some melting snow falling onto the roof." Cara adds, her mood a tiny bit better than earlier this morning. "Im still hungry." The vampire says then. "Ill be out for a while again, hunting."

She gives Selena a kiss and then leaves once more, leaving us sitting there at the table. "I'm going to read some book or something." Selena says, her voice tired.

"We'll clean the table." Taylor says. "Rest a bit, you look tired." She adds to her friend as she nudges her shoulder. Selena smiles a small smile at us and then retreats in the extra room the cabin provides.

I get up from my chair to clean the table and the rest of the kitchen and so does the blonde, blue eyed half wolf next to me too. When we're done with all the cleaning, we plop down on the bed. "Can we cuddle for a while now?" Taylor asks, smiling brightly at me.


"Ehmmm, duh. I love cuddling with you." I say, speaking in the same cute voice as she always does with certain words.

We lay down on top of the blankets, holding one another. I sniffed, taking in her lavender mixed with vanilla plus nice smelling wood, scent. I smile, remembering our first encounter that halloween night. She had looked so confident and attractive. So special and mysterious. Looking back, I had known since that night that there was something different about her. And look where we are now, both half wolfs, waiting to fight off another werewolf.

I giggle. It all sounds like some kind of fairytale. Some kind of story.

"Why are you laughing?" She asks, smiling at me with those pink lips. I lean forward and kiss them briefly. 

"Thinking about you." I reply. "Wait, you can read my mind, can't you?" I grin.


"Yes I can." She replies. "But I like hearing you talk too."


I giggle again, hugging her closely to me. And in this very moment, I am happy.

"Hey guys, wheres Cara?" Someone asks.

I open my eyes slowly and let them adjust to the dim light that the fire in the cabin provides. I look outside and see that it is already dark out.


"Hmm?" I hum lazily.

"Oh my god. Has she really been gone for so long? I thought she would be here with you guys." I now realise it's Selena talking to me. I feel Taylor stir and wake up next to me too.

"We slept." I say, not fully awake yet.

"So did I." Selena says, slight panic evident in her demeanour.

"She's probably fine, Sel. It's Cara, she'll be back soon." I hear Taylor mumble next to me.

She wasn't.

"Fuck, where the hell could she be?!" Taylor shouts loudly. We have been walking through the rain and mud for about five whole hours.

"Fuck.." I hear Selena mumble next to me. She rapidly shifts into her human form and sinks down against one of the trees. We all shift to our human forms and stand there, thinking of what to do.



"Taylor, do you think Toni-" Selena starts.



"Don't think those kind of things Sel." Taylor says sternly. "It's Cara she's probably fine."



"Yeah well probably is not enough!" Selena the shouts at her before growling loudly, shifting back into her wolf-self and taking off into the darkness. 



"Sel, wait!" I yell before Taylor and I also shift into our wolf-forms once more. We run after the dark haired wolf until she practically collapses and starts crying onto the muddy ground she lays on.


"We will find her." Taylor says, trying to comfort her. "I promise."

Two hours later, we are still on our way. We're scanning the woods in our wolf-forms, racing through them and looking for our vampire the best we can. It is when I walk towards a big tree together with Taylor, that we hear Selena let out an ear piercing howl.


"Shit!" Taylor says, stopping her steps abruptly and turning around to run towards the source. I follow quickly behind her. We find Selena a minute later, in her human form once again. I sigh, grateful that nothing had happened to her. But when I look down towards the ground she sits on, I see a motionless Cara laying next to her.



"Oh my god." I hear Taylor gasp, as we both shift back to our human selfs soon after.

Cara's eyes are closed, her clothes are ripped at certain points and she is covered in blood and mud. The faint moonlight is the only source of light and so i'm grateful for my wolf-eyesight. "Let me look at her!" Taylor shouts, Selena unable to perform any of her nursing skills in this condition. I take the girl in my arms and let Taylor examen the wounded vamp. "Come here." I say to Selena as she sobs onto my shoulder as I hold her tightly into my arms.



"She's breathing!" Taylor shouts then.

We all gather around the vampire again then as Taylor is still looking for any wounds. Cara opens her eyes abruptly then and lets out a loud, long gasp. She looks at us with a panicked look on her face. I have never seen her this terrified ever before. 

She looks in all of our eyes and stops at Selena. "Go." She says weakly, her hand clinching onto her stomach. Taylor removes it and and sees a huge wound covering all of Cara's abdomen. I hear Selena let out a loud breath next to me as she reaches for Cara's hand. I step backwards, looking at the pair. 


'How are we going to do this?' I think to myself as Taylor starts examining yet another wound on Cara's body. On her leg this time.

"Go!" Cara repeats. 


'What does she mean?'

"Go, now!"



"Cara, why? We have to take care of your wounds first before we can go anywhe-" Taylor says before she's interrupted by Cara's left hand gripping her wrist.


"She is.. here." Cara says, barely able to speak. "Go!"

"Toni? Is Toni here?" Taylor asks and I quickly scan the area, looking around me. Were on a small grassy field in the middle of the woods. Out in the open, perfect for predators to find and catch us. 

"Fuck." I hiss. "It's a trap."

"Please.." Cara pleads breathlessly. "Go." She looks into Selena's eyes as she speaks.

"I will not leave you here." Selena says, tears brimming in her eyes. 



"Please.." Cara says, holding onto Selena with both of her hands. Taylor takes a stand next to me and looks into my eyes in a panic.

"How will we do this?" She asks me. "Oh my god Karlie, we can't just leave her here can we?"


I feel tears welling up in my eyes as well as I look around in panic. "I.. I don't know what to do." I whisper while my eyes land onto the couple on the ground. My eyes lock with Cara's for a second.



"H-hey, vegetarian fake wolf, come here." She half talks, half breathes to me. I kneel down next to the pair. "Take c..care of them will you?" She asks as I'm next to her. Selena sits next to her match, not moving, in complete shock.


"Cara don't be silly, we will go back to the cabi-" I say, trying to lift her up.


"Hey." She says, I ignore her and try to carry her off the ground. "Hey!" She repeats, a bit louder. "Hey, can't you see I'm dying over here." She says, coughing as she giggles, trying to lift the mood up a bit with that lopsided smile on her face. I let go of her, tears freely streaming down my cheeks as I look into her eyes.

"Now please, take care of them will you?" She says one more time. "Youre strong and.. kinda awesome." She adds. "So will you?"

"Y-yes." I stutter as she squeezes my hand and tries to smile at me. Taylor kneels down too as I step back and scan the surrounding once more. 

"Now Taylor. Don't you dare to cry." Cara says to Taylor, who's already sobbing as she holds onto her friend. 



"Fuck, Cara you can't die. Please don't." The blonde wolf mumbles, Selena is watching the exchange in the meantime in a state of trance.

"Im a 154 years old okay. I think Iv'e had my fun." Cara says, smiling at Taylor but then cringing when feeling the pain of one of her many wounds. "Now please. Scare away that bitch. Live your life. Be happy. Okay? You deserve to be happy."

 Taylor lets out a cry and hugs her friend tightly, who cringes in pain while a single tear rolls down her cheek too. Taylor nods, gets up and walks towards me, letting Selena and Cara have their moment.


Selena stares at the wounded vampire. "Cara, we can probably heal your wounds and have you back to normal in no time okay? Please come with us and-"

Cara shuts her match up with a kiss full of passion and emotion. "Ill miss you up there, or well, down there, in hell in mean. Depends where I end up." The vamp says, smiling at her girlfriend while staring into her eyes. "I love you. You know that right?" She says, kissing her cheek as she collapses onto the ground instead of sitting down, not having the power anymore to do so. "I love you so much." She says then. "So damn much."

Selena just stares at her. Cara pulls her down and makes her lay with her, onto the muddy ground. They lay there for a few minutes, holding onto one another tightly. "I love you too." Selena says, crying onto her girlfriend's chest. "So much."

Cara replies by kissing the top of Selena's head. Taylor and I stand there, watching them say their last goodbyes. "Ill miss you so much." Selena sobs.


"I know babe, ill miss you to." Cara breathes, her voice soft and barely audible.


"Please don't go.." Selena exhales, looking into Cara's eyes.


The vampire's breaths grow unsteady as she lays there on the ground. "I could spend.." She takes a shallow breath. "Another 154 years with you.. and only you.." She takes another breath. "But.. I will see you in another life, my love." One last breath sounds before theres an ear piercing silence surrounding us.



"No... no please no.. don't go. I love you. I love you so much." Selena sobs onto her match's chest. "You can't go.. I love you. So much.. please." She whispers.


The crack of a twig is what startles me as I quickly turn around. Its her.

"Well, well, well, look at that. Who would've knows I would find a bunch of lone wolfs and a dead vampire here in the middle of these woods. What a coincidence" She says.


"Toni.." I breathe, full of anger, immediately shifting into my wolf form. 'How can she do this? Kill someone to get a piece of land that she does not even own?' Im so furious that I already want to jump on the damn girl and rip her apart.


"Wait!" Taylor says, who is still in her human form. "She's not alone." 



"Good nose, Swift." Toni smiles. I look behind me, where Selena is still crying with Cara in her arms. Hopeless and sad.


"Show yourself!" Taylor shouts, and I growl lowly.

A dark haired, tall woman walks out behind Toni, kissing her cheek. "Hello." She says, in a British accent. Her dark skin lets the faint moonlight reflect on it. She looks pretty. Annoyingly pretty.


"Jourdan?" Taylor says in disbelieve. "Please tell me your not on-"



"On her side?" The woman asks. "Yes dear, I'm on her side. Actually we found out we're matches so yes. Im on her side."



"You have no idea what she's done.." Taylor says, her eyes wide in shock. "You're.. that's so not you. You were always so kind and sweet."


"Taylor, sweetie, you last saw me ten years ago. Things change, people change." Jourdan smiles, swinging her arm around a grinning Toni.

"And I heard that you stole some of our land actually." Jourdan adds.


"Our land huh?" Taylor asks, her eyebrows furrowed in anger. "Im daughter of the white's. I own this land." Taylor says, stepping closer to the arrogant pair. "This right here, is your last warning." She says threateningly. "Go away and never return or fight and die."

"Well I already killed one, so how hard can it really be?" Toni smiles, shifting into her wolf-self with a growl and jumping at Taylor quickly, who falls to the ground. Hard.



Jourdan also shifts into her wolf-form and turns on me, while Taylor has shifted too now and is fighting Toni with all her power. Jourdan is strong, stronger than I had hoped her to be and so I struggle to keep up with her clawing punches and mean bites. I look to my left a couple of times, where Taylor is having the same problem. I notice then however that when I think of my match, my powers grow and my punches and sharp bites grow stronger.

I let out a loud growl and push Jourdan to the ground as hard as I can, biting her neck and scratching her back in the process. I see that Taylor is laying on her back on the ground, underneath Toni, next to me and jump to the side, to push Toni off her. I succeed in my plan, however I hadn't planned on Jourdan jumping my back right after, biting deeply into the back of my neck. I grunt in pain.

"Taylor!" I shout, wanting to warn her for Toni who was already behind her once more. I was too late, my match is on her back again as I struggle to keep Jourdan at a safe distance from her and me.


"Karls!" I hear Taylor call for help and look to the side but the mean wolf tackles me harshly. Were now both laying on the ground, without any chances of getting up. 

'Well, this is it then' I think to myself as I feel Jourdan's sharp claws, digging into my skin and see Toni, bite Taylor's neck harshly.

 A loud growl sounds however and Selena emerges from the darkness and jumps onto Jourdan.

"Help Taylor!" She growls at me before slamming her nails into Jourdan's face. I run over to my match, who is already bleeding heavily. "Get off!" I growl at Toni, before jumping onto the mean wolf. I grab her by the throat with one paw and dig my nails into her skin. I see fear in her eyes for the first time then as she looks at the side for help.

"Jour!" She squeaks. Taylor steps beside me, holding her down too. 

Jourdan looks over at her match in fear, not being able to help her since Selena is holding onto her tightly.

I loosen my grip on her neck, feeling slightly sorry for the pair somehow, knowing how it is to lose your match.


Taylor takes over, reading my mind and knowing how I feel and she grips the mean wolf by the throat.

"Last chance." She breathes, anger fuming as her now red eyes stare into Toni's.


Toni remains quiet. "Okay, thats your answer then." Taylor says, pushing her paw down even harder, making Toni let out a shriek, since she can't get any air anymore now.

This continues for a few seconds before Jourdan growls loudly: "No! Stop!"

Taylor loosens her grip on Toni's throat. "We will go. We will leave okay?" Jourdan says, her tail figuratively between her legs as she speaks and looks towards her match. 

Toni looks at her match in shock. "Wha-"



"Toni, I know this land means a lot to you, but it doesn't mean as much as your fucking life okay?" Jourdan says, as Selena still holds onto her.



"It's your call, Toni." Taylor says, still holding onto the wolf as I look at all of them.


Toni looks at Jourdan once more and then sighs. "Fine." She says.

"Never return." Taylor says. "It's a miracle I'm not killing you both." She says as she lets go of the wolf, still looking at her with red, angry eyes.

"We will never return. Ever." Jourdan says, scared that Taylor will still hurt her match.

Taylor and Selena let out a loud growl when Jourdan and Toni shift back into their human forms and back off.

Selena shifts back into her human-self too and runs at Toni before tackling her down. She smacks her face harshly. "I hope you'll never find happiness." She says, holding onto her neck before letting her go and getting off her. Fear is evident in Toni's eyes. She knows she has lost. She knows there is no way she could ever even come close to this area. 

And so she and Jourdan leave, running towards the village. To never return to this side of the land anymore.

We hold a funeral a few days later. A funeral for a good creature, a good friend and a good match. A funeral for the vampire who would've turned 155, two days after she died.

We all know Cara hated flowers. She told us that every single time she saw one. And so we had all decided that it would best if we would give her a funeral without any flowers. So instead we held a short ceremony out on the grass fields she always loved to hunt with Taylor in the past. Of course we had to look out for the old, grumpy farmer who was trying to protect his stupid vegetables. But it wouldn't have been Cara's funeral if there wouldn't have been a little action.


"I hope it won't be too boring, wherever you are." Selena says, making us laugh. Her words are directed to the wooden coffin, where her match was laying in. "But ill see you soon okay?" She says. "Well, not too soon of course. But I mean in vampire years, pretty soon." Taylor and I smiled.


"I love you Cara Delevingne. I always will."

And with that, we lower the coffin into the hole in the ground we dug and close it off with the dirt a few minutes later. We plant a tree then, on top of the grave, an apple tree. Cara hated apples. But these were really all the seeds that we could find. She could probably laugh about it anyway.

"Shall we?" Taylor asked mostly Selena as we had stood there for a while, looking at the loose pile of dirt in front of us.

Selena nodded and smiled a small smile in Taylor's direction. We walked through the fields then, just the three of us.

"Carrots? Again?" Taylor asked from the kitchen. "Really, are you trying to kill me?"

"Complainer." I smiled. "You'll get used to it." 

"I doubt it." Taylor says, plopping down onto the bed next to me, where I was reading a book. "Well you better." I say, smiling at her as she smiles at me.

"Or else?" She asks.

"Or else, i'm going to have to find myself a vegetarian match." I say jokingly, making her gasp. 

"You wouldn't!" She says, faking her shock. She lays her head down on my shoulder, resting it there while we both laugh at our playful banter.

"Can we take a walk outside?" She asks then.

"Random." I say, giggling at her sudden want en need to go outside. Once an animal, always an animal I suppose. "But sure."

She kisses my cheek sweetly and jumps up from the bed. It has been three weeks since we had scared Toni and Jourdan away. three weeks since Cara had passed away. We had mostly spend these three weeks relaxing in the cabin. Selena had gone home after one week, wanting to spend some time with herself. 

The cabin felt like our small home right now. It had just what we needed. Except for well, a fridge, a stove, a proper shower, a tv, a power outlet and well, everything modern really. But we liked it here. For now at least.

"Come on,  you're so slow. Human." She says, throwing my jacket on the bed and smiling down at me with those big blue eyes of her.

"Half human and yeah, yeah." I say, smiling up at her and getting out of the nest I was settled in. I really needed my rest after these strange and exhausting weeks. 

A few minutes passed with Taylor complaining and me getting dressed and ready before we stepped out of the cabin and outside. It is around 1pm and not quite as cold as it had been this morning, when I went on my veggie 'hunt'.

We walk in our human forms for a while before the blonde creature next to me turns into a beautiful white furred wolf. I shift too, not much later after she did and we just walk. We walk next to the lake, over the pebbles Taylor first shifted into her wolf-form for me a couple of years before. We walk over the muddy ground of the forest that leads to the village. The village we haven't been for quite some time now. Maybe we will return there later. Neither me or Taylor is feeling homesick at the moment, since we have each other, which is practically home.

And lastly, we walk over the broad, grassy fields, passing a tiny, tiny, new growing apple tree. We walk and walk until our mouths can't talk anymore and our legs can't walk anymore. And we then start walking back home, together. The air is starting to get warm and the sun is shining, spring has officially arrived.
