Now Playing; Lover Is A Day by Cuco

Eunha traversed the dark hallways all the way to the bottom floor, through the commons room, and down another hallway until she reached the eldest vampires room.        It was still dark out, but well into the morning hours at this point. She let the hybrid leave to feed, since he stayed while the others went earlier in the night.       The human didn't knock, entering to find the vampire wasn't in his room. She frowned at his absence, but heard a soft rustling in the wash room. The door opened seconds later and revealed the person she was looking for. "Still want me to kick his ass?"       "No, he went out to feed." She strolled over to his bed and ripped the duvet open to crawl inside. He watched her with wide eyes, no longer striding towards her. "Well, you coming?"        Seonghwa chuckled and laid beside of her, pulling the duvet over them. "Enjoy your nap?"        "You know I did." He lifted his arm to allow her the room to get comfortable against his side before wrapping it around her. "I tried to talk some sense into him, he's still ignoring the subject."       "That doesn't surprise me. I know he's been through shit, but we all have. He and Zero haven't always had the best relationship, but he hasn't even mentioned trying to find him since they were separated. It doesn't make any sense to me." Eunha listened to her husband rant away, completely understanding his points. "It's like he doesn't even care that Soojin might be—and probably is—the one who captured him."       She rubbed his chest to hopefully calm him down, which it seemed to work. "I'm sorry for throwing it all on you. I should be telling him." He sighed loudly, using his free hand to rub his face in frustration.        "That requires him to be listening to you." Seonghwa huffed out a laugh, removing his hand to look down at her.        "You got that right. It's like talking to a brick wall." Eunha grinned at his perfect comparison. "Oh, by the way. I found something you might have been looking for."        The vampire reached over her to grab a book from his bedside. She recognized it immediately, snatching it from his hands. "Where did I leave it?! I've been searching everywhere for this. I haven't even gotten halfway, I'll probably have to start over."        "Yeosang found it in a pile among his own."       She placed it back on the bed-side table before returning to cuddling her husband as he slipped down the pillows more, lying instead of sitting up. His hand ran circles from her arm down to her torso, then back up to repeat.        This slowly put her to sleep.

Eunha woke up the next day to the sun beating down on her eyes. They fluttered open slowly, her arm reaching out to block the brightness. She stretched wide, sprawled limbs looking for the cool places under the duvet. She rolled over to find her husband wasn't with her this time.        But he made himself known by leaving the wash room, gaze landing on her. "Good morning, doll."        She gave him a warm smile, eyes droopy from her recent slumber. "Good morning." The human sat up slowly, pulling the duvet off her legs so she can swing them around the side.        Seonghwa helped her to the bathroom and slowly ran a bath while she emptied her bladder. He removed her robe after turning the water off, allowing her to dip into the soothing bath.        After she was comfortable, the vampire began to strip out of his own clothes, before joining her by crawling in behind her. Once he was settled, she leaned her body weight against him; having a much softer cushion compared to the hard porcelain.        He took scoops of water with his hands to begin washing her hair, combing through it and massaging her scalp. "We should do this more often."        The vampire chuckled at her comment, moving to her shoulders. The warm water glided over her skin in a way that felt more than just relaxing. "Say the word, and we can do this every day." Eunha hummed at him, leaning forward as he began to wash it with soap. "What word would that be?"         Seonghwa laughed. "You know what I mean. Just ask, doll. I'll drop anything to do this for you." The smile extended on her face from his offer, nodding in response. "Good, because if I find out you have anyone else do this for you, I'll be sad."        Eunha turned her head to rest on her shoulder, getting a look at his face. He was thoroughly combing the soap through her hair, but realized she was watching him. "We can't have that." She followed his humor, noticing his smile. He leaned down and stole a quick peck from her lips.         Once he was finished with her hair, he focused on rinsing the suds. He took his time washing, making sure to massage as went. Her eyes eventually fluttered closed, enjoying the feeling of his hands working through each sore muscle.        He finished in no-time, the vampire getting out to dry himself off while he let her bask in the warmth longer. "You mentioned that you felt Hongjoong didn't seem too worried about Zero." Her sudden entrance for the subject peeked the vampires interest. "Well... The night it happened, he told me something."        Seonghwa was previously hurriedly scrubbing himself with the towel, but her last sentence made him slow his pace, focusing more on her. "What did he say?"       "He said he trusts you all, but he doesn't trust Zero. Apparently... he's had a lot to say about me." Now the vampire had stopped his movements, completely listening to her. "And it was rarely good things. He's possessive, to the point Hongjoong can't tell if there's even an ounce of love in there." "Did he specify on anything he said?" Eunha didn't verbally respond this time, giving him a head shake to signify 'no'. "That's odd... the last time he spoke to me about Zero, he was still having trouble sharing, but nothing to this extent." "Hongjoong also mentioned that he's not a good person. At least not anymore." She looked down at the water rippling slightly from her movements. "Do you think.. Zero went willingly?"       "I hope not." Seonghwa finished drying himself off then helped her out of the water, beginning to dry her now as well. He clothed them, picking her up to carry her back to the bed. "Do you think he did?"       Eunha sat on the edge of the bed, watching the vampire kneel down in front of her. Her eyes shot between his eyes. "I don't know.. I don't know what to think."        He sensed she had more to say, but she had looked down to watch her fiddling hands. His hands covered hers, stealing her gaze as well as stopping her stressed movements. "I'm just... I'm scared." Her voice cracked in tune with his heart breaking.        Seonghwa reached for her face, caressing her cheeks. A small tear slid down to coat his skin. "Oh, doll. It's going to be okay."        "But what if it isn't? He will have no mercy. He will kill you. I don't want any of you to die. I don't want him to take my baby." Her small tears turned to full crying, making the vampire pull her into his embrace and rub her back. "I'm so scared.. I want him to leave me alone. I want him to leave us alone."        Eunha sobs were muffled into his chest, but it didn't make it hurt less for him. "I'll protect us, Eunha. I promise you. And I'll do it all while staying alive. I will protect you. I promise you."         "I can't lose you. I can't lose any of you. I already lost my family. You're all the family I have left. Please don't leave me."        Seonghwa couldn't stop his own tears, much less calm hers. He could only hold onto her tighter, never wanting to let her go. "I'll keep us safe, doll. I promise. It would be my greatest honor to see through that you live a long and healthy life."
