(Liu Kang is awarded a medal from Raiden)

Raiden: I do not understand why my amulet is further damaged. He must win. If not Liu Kang, then who?

(Jax smokes a cigar)

Jax: Well, you got me. Not sure if anyone could do what he did. Made Shang Tsung look like a chump

(A younger version of Shang Tsung appears)

Raiden: Here to congratulate us on our victory, sorcerer?

Jax: What? Shang Tsung?

Raiden: You have been re vitalized I see. I did not know that your master was in the habit of rewarding failure

Shang Tsung: The emperor has an offer, Raiden. A new tournament

Raiden: Hmph, I see no reason to participate in any plan of yours

Shang Tsung: The emperor proposes a single tournament, to replace the current system of ten. It will be held in out world

(Raiden raises an eyebrow)

Shang Tsung: If earth realm does not win, out world will absorb it. But if earth realm wins, Shao Khan will abandon his claim to it forever

(Raiden turns his back on Shang Tsung)

Raiden: Give your emperor my regards

(Shang Tsung opens a portal, letting a horde of tarkatans run wild)

(Raiden fights Shang Tsung while Jax tries to thin out the tarkatans, but Jax gets knocked out cold)

(Later)

Johnny: What do we do with all of those Barakas?

Echo: They are called tarkatans. Baraka is just the name of a tarkatan. Didn't Raiden tell you this before?

Raiden: Shang Tsung gained a momentary advantage during our kombat and escaped. I now realize what we must do

(Jax wakes up)

Jax: Anyone get the number of that- wait, where's Sonya?

Raiden: Shang Tsung has taken her

Echo: He did? Oh boy...

Jax: We gotta find her!

Kung Lao: We must follow them!

Kenshi: Agreed!

Raiden: Shang Tsung has made it clear that earth realm will be under constant threat unless I agree to a new tournament

(Raiden has another vision)

Jax: Another vision?

Raiden: Yes, I saw Liu Kang win the proposed tournament. I believe that we must attend. But in my earlier vision, your victory over Shang Tsung was not the solution that I sought. Therefore this premonition must show an event that I need to change. Perhaps he must win refers to another

(Raiden looks to the sky)

Raiden: Hear me, elder gods! I accept the terms proposed by Shao Khan!

(A blinding light shines over Raiden)

Raiden: We must go to outworld

(Goro gives Shao Khan an amulet)

(Raiden walks into the throne room with Echo, Kenshi, Johnny Cage, and Jax)

Jax: I assume that's the big man himself

Johnny: The big wrestler guy? With the cow skull on his head? And why aren't the kung fu twins here helping us?

Raiden: I sent Liu Kang and Kung Lao to free their shaolin masters. I expected Sonya Blade to be here with Shang Tsung

Jax: She better not have a scratch on her(Walks forward)

Raiden: Wait, this is a tournament

Echo: Jax, hold up

Kenshi: Don't-

Shang Tsung: Ah, the earth realm delegation has arrived. And we have a volunteer for first kombat as well

Jax: What?

Shao Khan: The tournament will begin!

(A crowd of tarkatans cheer)

Echo: Oh boy, here we go

Shang Tsung: Jaxon Briggs, you will face Baraka!

(Baraka pops his blades out)

Jax: Damn, you ugly

(Baraka pops his blades out)

Baraka: My blades will find your heart!

(Jax fights Baraka. Jax's strength, size, and military training allow him to defeat Baraka without too much trouble)

Jax: You shouldn't be running with those. Where is Sonya?

Shang Tsung: Tell me, Major Briggs. Do you and her do anything other than rescue one another?

(A few of the tarkatans laugh)

Shang Tsung: Your next opponent will be- what is it?

(Reptile whispers something to Shang Tsung)

Shang Tsung: Excellent. It seems I have a pressing matter to attend to. With the emperor's permission, we will reconvene later

(Shao Khan gives a nod)

(Kitana and Jade walk off with the tarkatans as Shang Tsung walks off with Reptile)

(Raiden has a vision)

Jax: You ok?

Raiden: Sonya Blade, she is to be executed. My powers are compromised here in out world, but I will be able to transport us near enough to her

(Raiden teleports the group to a random spot in Shao Khan's dungeon)

Johnny: Maybe you could try for even nearer next time. Where are we?

Raiden: I will inform you the instant I know

Johnny: Don't tell me we're lost

Echo: Ok, I won't tell you

Kenshi: I do not need eyes to know we are not in a cell block

Jax: Wish this damn tracking device worked in here

Johnny: This is just like my movie"time smashers"! We were going around-

Jax: Give it a rest will ya? Making my ears hurt

Johnny: So, Whats the deal with Sonya anyway? She's smoking hot!

Jax: It's not like that, I'm her C.O.

Johnny: Can you say that in english? I don't speak military

(Jax rolls his eyes)

Jax: Commanding officer

Johnny: A honey like that under my command? Oh, I'd be so-

Jax: You'll wanna stop talking now

Johnny: But if it's not like that then you won't mind if I-

Jax: That's it! Time somebody shut you up!

Echo: (Whispers) I bet five dollars on Jax

Kenshi: Same

(Jax fights Johnny Cage. Jax's blind rage and sheer strength allows him to move fast and hit hard. Johnny wasn't going all out on his ally, so he is defeated)

Jax: How do you like that Mr. A-list?

Raiden: Enough! Jaxon Briggs, you will restrain yourself

Johnny: Ow. You hit hard

Jax: Yeah, well, I-

(Raiden raises his hand)

Kenshi: Do you hear that?

Raiden: Someone approaches

(Jade, Rain, and a squad of tarkatans enter the room)

Jax: Good, maybe someone else needs to get their ass whooped. Looking for something?

Jade: The armory is restricted, you will leave now

Jax: Gonna have to ask nicer than that

Rain: Or maybe you had something else in mind?

(Rain cracks his knuckles)

(Jax fights Jade. Jade's a skilled fighter, but her hits don't seem to do much damage because of how buff Jax is. He's able to knock her out with a strong punch)

(Echo, Johnny, Kenshi, and Raiden fight Rain and the tarkatans in the background)

Jax: Wrong place, wrong time

Johnny: Feel better?

Jax: Uh, listen Cage. I-

Johnny: Don't worry about it

Echo: Did he just say he's sorry?

Johnny: I guess he did

Echo: See? He likes you

Johnny: Guess we know where we are now, thanks to them

Raiden: Yes, and where we must go

Jax: Lets do it

Kenshi: We're all with you, Raiden

(The group walks down a hallway)

Johnny: Um-

Jax: Come on, Cage

(Some shokans are playing a dice game)

Sonya: What is it with shokans and underground cesspools?

Sheeva: If you had not dishonored yourself by attempting to escape, then we would not be here in this sewer

(The group walks into the room where Sonya is being held)

Johnny: Sonya!

(Everyone looks at Johnny)

(Echo facepalms)

Sheeva: Guards, stop them!

Jax: So much for the surprise attack

(Jax knocks a guard into the acid pool, and leaps over the rest)

(Raiden, Kenshi, Johnny, and Echo deal with the rest of the guards)

Sheeva: She is the emperors property, human

Jax: She's nobody's property

(Jax fights Sheeva. Both fighters are strong and bulky, but Jax's combat experience and physical fitness allows him to defeat Sheeva)

Jax: I guess extra arms don't make a difference

Sonya: You sure have a way with women

Jax: What can I say? I'm a class act

(Jax cuts the ropes off of Sonya with his knife)

Sonya: Thanks, what took you so long?

Johnny: He was busy hitting me in the face

(Sonya gives a light chuckle)

Sonya: Weird, I've got two sets of readings. Heavy tech signals, both of them

Echo: I hope it's not what I think it is

Raiden: Technology? Then they cannot be of out world. We need to confront the source of each signal. We may discover the one whose victory I must insure

Johnny: What about us? What are we, chopped liver?

(Raiden gives Johnny a disapproving look)

Johnny: What?

Raiden: Perhaps you are right, Johnny Cage. You will stay close to Kenshi and I

Johnny: Great, I-

Raiden: Close as a shadow, and twice as silent

Jax: Sonya, you're with me, I'm keeping my eye on you. Raiden, looks like you'll wanna teleport yourself about thirty clicks that way

(Jax points to a coordinate on Sonya's map)

Johnny: But we get Echo

Echo: Fine by me
