Ch. 22 A few Cubs

ย ย  = ALL EYES WERE ON KELLY, they didn't even notice the three furry felines behind her. Tails wagging as they smelled the food. They were hungry both Kelly and Madison knew as they both share a look when they looked to one another.

"Where's the phone?" Ian asks, looking around till he finds the satellite phone and looks through the case packaging.

"You practically told me to come here!" Kelly cries out loud. Trying to calm her fathers nerves but it did not work.

"I what?" Ian looks to his daughter with confusion while Madison jumps when Tony presses a wet cloth against her wounds.

"You said "don't listen to me." I thought you were trying to tell me something." Kelly shrugs.

"You knew exactly what I meant!" Malcolm shouts out loud in both concern and frustration, he didn't want his daughter on this island and wanted to know how Madison even found the girl. "You don't have the faintest idea what's going on on this island, of the danger you put yourself in!"

"Actually I do!" Madison snaps around to the girl at her claim, mentally cursing and physically shrinking into her body when she realised what she was about to do.

"What?" Ian turns with Sarah also staring at her.

"I followed Madison, she and I were attacked by velociraptors." All eyes were now on the older female who shrinks further in response.

"WHAT!?" Ian yells in shock and disbelief. "You didn't bother to tell me Madison!?"

"I found her when I was attacked." Madison answers, hissing when Tony pressed on her leg gash.

"Could've still told me!"

"I was about to!"

"She's my child! Could've told me when I got here!"

"I would've if I had enough- God damn! Time!" Madison yells, having been interrupted when Tony helps with her wound. He looks up to the girl and then back to Ian who has a furious look on his face.

Voices crowds the girls ears, making her scrunch her eyes close and plant her hands over her ears in a groan. Loud noises weren't overly fond for the girl, especially after the Jurassic Park accident.

"I'll clean her wounds." Sarah tells Tony who was making a fool of himself, he nods and stands. "Calm Ian down please, I'll help Miss Faye here."

Softly tapping her knee, Madison opens her eyes to find the soft and warm smile of Sarah Harding. Her friends lover. Pulling down her hands, Sarah smiled widely.

"You okay?" Sarah asks her gently.

"I'm fine, just not fond on loud noises." Madison responds. Then the female focuses her attention on wrapping the wounds, her fingers were soft to the touch. Surprising the girl who thought they'd be rough from her wild adventures.

"Don't shout at Madison." Kelly tells her father who heavily sighs, having already regretted his decision and walked over. Crouching down to hug the girl from behind.

"Sorry Maddy." He whispers and the female laughs.

"It's fine Ian, I'd also be protective and concerned over my child if I had one." Madison pats his arm wrapped around her neck, hearing Eddie randomly yelp loudly.

"WHAT IS THAT!" All heads turn to the RV where two Smilodon cubs were sat on the top step with one fallen onto the earths surface. Head first.

"Stand back!" Ian protectively shoots to stand in front of his daughter before Kelly ducks under his arm and crouch walks over to the cubs.

"They won't hurt me dad!" Kelly tells him, carefully picking the fallen cub up from the ground. Having the small creature lick her cheek with their tiny pinkish red tongue.

"What are lion cubs doing here?" Nick asks the group while Tony pops a blueberry into his own mouth. "And how?"

"How should I know?." Tony murmurs.

"They are Smilodons otherwise known as..."

"Saber-tooth's." Ian finishes, interrupting the girl as he cautiously makes his way over. "Where did you find these? Where's the mother, surely she will be worried."

"The mother is dead, velociraptors must've killed her while she was protecting her cubs." Madison tells him, all eyes turning to her as she stares at them. "We found them chewing on the remains of a human skeleton."

"They killed- they killed a human?" Eddie asks in shock.

"God no, either it was the parent before they died or the velociraptors." Madison grunts, hissing loudly with a curse when she felt the bandage be pressed further into the wound. "For fuck-sake." She groans.

"Sorry about that Miss Faye, you'll get used to it after a few moments." Sarah sheepishly smiles at the girl who nods and pulls her pant sleeves over the bandages.

"Don't Sabertooth's grow big? If so they could be a danger-"

"Madison is like their momma!" Kelly giggled loudly as the cub mewls, she then holds the creature up to her father who was staring at them. "Look how cute they are!"

Ian awkwardly takes the animal from her hands and holds them in front of himself, watching as they stare at the man with a small tilt of their head.

"As much as I'd like to get to know them, I need to take my daughter home. You all can come with me or not." Malcolm passes Tony Stark the small animal, patting their head softly before grabbing his daughters hand and drags her around once more.

"If you're staying, I'd be happy to deliver a letter to your wives or loved ones. Give you a chance to say good bye to them."

Sarah ignores her lover and continues her talk with Nick and Eddie. "We leave no scent of any kind. No hair tonics, no cologne, no insect repellant, seal all our food in plastic bags."

"Maybe you have some personal effects you'd like me to pass on. It's the least I can do." Ian says.

"I have an iron suit on stand by." Tony tells him, cradling the tiny creature he then comfortably sways them side to side.

"And I have no family, apart from Tim and Lex." Madison points out randomly, joining by the billionaires side.

"What about Alan." Ian looks at the pink and purple haired female with a face of worry.

"Tell him, he owes me money." Madison smiles. Leaning onto Tony's side who places a firm hand on her waist, keeping her steady.

"Our presence has to be one hundred percent antiseptic. If we so much as bend a blade of grass, we bend it back the way it-" Sarah continues until they hear a low sound that has been rising while they bickered.

Now it was blasting over the jungle around them, a thunderous racket that shakes the very ground beneath them. Malcolm stops, the door to the trailer rattling in his hand as three military helicopters approach overhead, flying very low.

The choppers are enormous, fast-assed creatures, some dangling huge cargo containers under them.

"InGen? Why would Hammond send two teams?" Eddie asks as they watch them pass, Madison could feel two pairs of eyes on her as she scowls. It wasn't Hammond's doing.

"Doesn't he trust us?! We haven't even had a chance yet!" Sarah complains from beside Ian and Kelly, the youngest Malcolm holding another cub.

Ian grabs the binoculars and he sees the frenzy of activity as the massive containers are unloaded and their MEN and equipment deployed. And standing right in the center of it all was the one and only Peter Ludlow, in a brand-new Banana Republic safari-wear

"Hammond didn't send these guys. Peter Ludlow did."
