Chapter 10: I'm a Great Actor

Elijah is walking around the study and finds the burnt sage his mother used last night. Downstairs, Rebekah enters the living room, where Kol and Klaus are. Klaus is on a couch sketching. Ophira was sitting next to him with her grimoire.

"Well, well, well, there's our girl!" Kol says. He stands before her and blocks her way."Get out of my way, Kol.""Out all night. What a scandal! I trust you did better than that commoner? Matt, was it?""If you don't shut your mouth, the next thing to come out of it will be your teeth." Klaus grins."Don't start, Nik!""I didn't say anything.""I'm bored. Our sister is a strumpet, but at least she's having fun. I need entertainment.""What are you waiting for? Go on, have at it.""It's not fun to go alone. Join me, Nik! It's the least you can do after sticking a dagger in my heart.""Okay. Why not? I didn't have nearly enough to drink last night, what with you trying to murder Rebekah's date.""Yes, please go, this house has enough men rolling around it in.""Just like you, Bekah." Rebekah throws her shoe at Kol."Good riddance, both of you!" Ophira turns to Rebekah and asks, "Whats a strumpet." Elijah enters the room, still holding the burnt sage."Rebekah, Ophira.""Not you too, Elijah.""I'm worried about mother. Have you not noticed her strange behavior?""She's been dead for a thousand years. What's strange for her?""Burnt sage." Elijah shows Rebekah the sage and she takes it from him. "She was doing a privacy spell.""You know she fancies such things. Why don't you ask Finn? He's been doting on her.""I don't trust Finn. He hates what we are, he always has.""That's not true. And as for mother, she returned for one reason, to make our family whole. She loves us. What trouble are you looking to find?"After Rebekah leaves Ophira stayed behind with Elijah he turned to her, "Ophira is everything in place.""Yes the sacrifice happens tonight all you need to do is get the doppleganger." Ophira responded.

Old Witch House

Abby and Bonnie are walking up to the mansion. Esther, Ophira and Finn and walking out of the entrance.

"Who's the creepy, lurky guy and the little girl?" Abby asked."Esther's son, Finn, he's a vampire so... Bonnie points to her ear to indicate he can hear her. "and Esther's distant niece Ophira, she's a witch.""Wonder what your Grams thinks about the part we're playing in all of this balance of nature stuff.""She's probably on the other side, screaming about getting involved with vampire business.""Bennett witches. Thank you for coming. I can think of no better allies than the woman who sent Mikael into his long sleep and the girl who fought Niklaus so bravely.""Why exactly did you invite us here?""You are the descendants of the witch Ayana. She was a great mentor of mine and I think it's only fitting that I draw from her bloodline.""So are you channeling our ancestors?""I draw from the entirety of the Bennett bloodline, living and dead. The connection affords me great power, although it is somewhat difficult to maintain, which is why I require you, mother and daughter. The bloodline made manifest. Tonight, my sisters, we shall bring peace to the spirits of nature that we serve and for that I thank you."Later

Outside the house, Finn is lighting torches around a pentagram on the ground made of salt Ophira was making.

"The pentagram represents our connection to magic. The salt is a symbol of the Earth." Esther explained."The torches?" Bonnie asked."Five torches. One for each of my children.""What's the spell you're doing?""As the witch who cast the spell that made them vampires, I can also reverse it. When they become human again, they can be killed. As they are linked as one, my brave Finn will be the sacrifice. With his death, will come theirs.""And you're just willing to die?" Abby asked Finn."My mother has released me from an eternity of shame. It's not a sacrifice, it's a gift." Finn asked."You Ophira your always with the Originals?""There vampires and let's just say I'm a great actor."

Finn dies and falls to the ground.

"Something's wrong." Ophira said.

Later

Finn is standing in the center of the pentagram. Ophira was standing next to Ophira.

"They're coming, Mother!" Finn said"No, it's too soon, the moon is not high enough. Go! Quickly!" Bonnie and Abby retreat into the house. Kol, Elijah, and Klaus walk up."My sons, come forward.""Stay beside me, mother."

"Esther walks onto the pentagram."

"It's okay. They can't enter." Kol approaches the pentagram and the torches around it flare up bright. He's driven back."That's lovely. We're stuck out here, while the favorite son plays sacrificial lamb. How pathetic you are, Finn.""Be quiet, Kol. Your brother knows virtue you cannot even imagine."" Whatever you think of us, killing your own children will be an atrocity.""My only regret is that I did not let you die a thousand years ago.""Enough. All this talk is boring me. End this now, Mother, or I'll send you back to Hell.""For a thousand years, I've been forced to watch you. Felt the pain of every victim, suffered while you shed blood. Even you, Elijah, with your claim to nobility, you're no better. All of you. You're a curse on this Earth. Stretched out over generations. If you've come to plead for your life, I'm sorry, you've wasted your time. Even Ophira a girl who loved you all agrees with me.""Well that would be a bit of a stretch." Ophira said, "Distrumtime." the ground shakes the salt disburses. The pentagram torches flare up. Finn grabs Esther. The other brothers cower from the flames. After a moment the torches die out. Elijah, Klaus, and Kol stand around in shock. Finn and Esther are gone. Klaus runs over Ophira, "You did good Ophira." Ophira smiled.
