Chapter 6
12:12, 8 March 2025Y/N arrive at the spot where he's told to come for an interview. His whole body hesitated to enter the place, giving him a warning at how shady the place actually is.
"I need the job." He speaks, his own voice are the only sound can be heard on the quiet alleyway.
The building shine alone amongst other building near it, a bar neither small or large, a neon sign written "IZAKAYA" in it's dark window. He entered the bar, the door chime instantly greeted him as he opened the door, followed by the bartender welcoming him.
"Tanigo-san expected you." The Bartender said, at the same time panning his eyes to the side, showing Motoaki Tanigo known as Yagoo in the industry, sitting together with a bunch of men in black suits.
Despite the screaming dangerous air around them, Y/N approached the table without any hesitation.
"Y/N L/N?" Yagoo asked as Y/N made his way to his table.
"Yes. I'm here to meet someone, his name is Motoaki Tanigo." He replied, his voice firm.
Yagoo tilted his head, with only a movement everyone inside the bar leave. He told Y/N to sit across him, Yagoo's eyes sharp as he sized Y/N.
"I don't expect you to really come." Yagoo speak, his eyes never leave Y/N's. "Thought you would chicken out, but here you are...Impressive." A satisfied smile formed in his lips. "Tell me about yourself."
Y/N Spend the next couple of minutes telling Yagoo about himself, where he graduated High School, what his hobby are and his experiences.
"You seem confident for someone who never work in management before." Yagoo speaks, his voice low and measured. "But, confidence will get you nowhere if cannot think clearly. You're not only managing talents, but you need to be able to control chaos, egos, and expectations."
He tapped his fingers on the table, choosing the next words carefully. "My talents, they are unpredictable, and some of them have their own...complications. You'll have to be able to handle whatever that comes with it. Are you ready?"
Y/N didn't flinch, he knew the problems in the industry are not one to be played with. He had heard rumours, and stories on his own. But, he cannot back down now.
"I'm ready, sir." His voice firm, full of confidences. "I'm ready, I want this job."
"Good." Yagoo replied, his voice dropping near a whisper. He tapped the table with his fingers again and everyone entered the bar again. "Once you're in, you will prove yourself that you're worth of this job, not only to me, but to everyone, the staffs, the talents."
With seconds, the table which Y/N and Yagoo seated surrounded by the same men in black suit as before. Yagoo speak, his voice deep and serious, his eyes stare into Y/N's souls, "Because the world isn't forgiving, neither am I."
Y/N nodded in understanding, wihich Yagoo replied with a nod telling him to leave the place, and so he did.
"With that, there's only one problem left."
The air is warm and filled with comfort inside Sakura Miko's apartment, the sound of kettle blowing its whistle filled the room. She turned the stove off and pouring the hot water into a glass, making a tea for Suisei who had been spending the night in Miko's.
"Here have some tea, I'll order something for breakfast." Miko smiled as she handed Suisei the cup of tea.
Suisei nodded as she put down the glass into the table, she pulled his phone only to find a message from Takehiru.
"Make sure to not forget about our agreement, Sui-chan."
The message do not end there, as Suisei about to close her phone, Takehiru sent a picture of her in her apartment, together with another picture of Suisei wearing...an underwear.
Suisei's eyes widen the time she sees the picture, her heart rushed at the messages, she gritted her lips, holding her tears from her eyes. Miko whom noticed it, sit next to Suisei.
"Sui-chan, is he sending messages to you?" Her voice gentle and filled with concern.
Suisei's fingers trembled as she clutched on her phone, the world crumbling the longer she stares at her phone, the message, and the pictures. Miko who doesn't receive any answer from her, grabbed her phone and witnessed it.
"This bastard, he won't get away from this." Miko spokes, her voice loud, irritatated, annoyed, anger filling her.
"I...Don't know what to do..." Suisei rubbed her eyes, fighting back the tears. Her voice weak, her body trembling with fear.
"Sui-chan..." Miko without hesitation hugged Suisei, comforting her. "I'm here with you, okay? You're not alone, we'll figure this out together."
"But how Mikochi? How???" Suisei replied, her voice barely a whisper.
"We'll talk with Yagoo, I'm sure he will act immediately." Miko suggested as she hug Suisei tighter.
Suisei hesitated, the thought of bringing Yagoo to the mess make her anxious. But Miko reassured her. "It's okay, he will make things better."
While in the other hand, Takehiru who walked along the streets of Tokyo smiled widely after seeing his messages was seen by Suisei. He chuckled at the thoughts, at the same time sliding down his phone to his pocket again.
But as he walks into much quieter streets, a figure behind him appeared.
"Hey! Watch where you going!" He yelled, raising his voice to the figure that bumped him from behind.
The man grinned before turning to Takehiru. "What's your problem, kid?"
"Kid?" Takehiru replied, his voice irritated. "Do I look like a kid!?"
The man height towered Takehiru as he approached him closer and closer, Takehiru started to panic as he saw a hint of tattoo in the man's neck.
Takehiru pulled his phone, threating him by calling the police but the man didn't even flinch. He "accidentally" knocked Takehiru's phone, revealing his messages to Suisei.
"Don't tell me, you're a stalker?" The man raised his voice slightly as he saw the picture on Takehiru's phone. The man's voice immediately drawing attention to a couple of people nearby. "Don't you know that people hate stalker?"
"I'm not a stalker!" Takehiru yelled, denying the assumption. "That's my girlfriend!" Takehiru panic as people began to stare at him.
"I'll tell you what, man." The man continued to speak, looking down at Tatsuya who picked his phone. "I'll let you walk away earlier, but now that you called the police on me, and the fact that I hate stalker..." He paused, waiting Takehiru to stand.
BUGH
Takehiru fall to the ground, the sound of his body hitting the concrete was loud. He struggled to get up after a fist connected with his jaw, knocking him out.
"Fucking creep." The man leaves the place, leaving Takehiru laying on the cold ground alone.
"Good job." The same man from before could be seen standing alone in the alley as he received a phone call. "That's enough for now." A voice could be heard,
"Understood, Boss."
While Y/N who just walked away from the shady bar let out a long sigh after the most intese interview he had ever had. "At least I got a better job than those black company." He talks to himself, as he entered a grocery store.
He wandered around the aisle, purchasing his favourite instant food. Despite of how a mess his mental state currently, he still find happiness when he saw the instant food he always had for the past seven years.
Y/N find his way home after leaving the grocery store, the darkness that crept inside his apartment greeted him as he made his way inside.
There's still the teared rope that he used from couple of days before, making him realize what he almost do that day.
But, he didn't even bother at the mess he made, yet alone cleaning it. He sit at the sofa turning on the tv that become the only source of light inside his apartment. His body feels heavy after the interview, his eyes flickered to the rope, a reminder for him of how desperate he was.
He stares at the flickering screen, lost in thought, his hand clutching a cup of instant noodle. Despite its familiar comfort, it didn't fill the void within him. The words from Yagoo lingered in his mind, "The world isn't forgiving" A smile formed in his lips, he knows too well, of how harsh and unforgiving the world is.
His phone buzzes, he opened it up and find out its an email from Yagoo himself. He stared at his phone, realizing now he really have a new job.
He closes his eyes, letting out a sigh, unsure if this job of his and the new opportunity would find him a light, or only just going to drag him down deeper to his own darkness.
