PART 21

"Don't you know Nani's dream is to become a model?" Dew said to Sky, taking a deep breath. "I don't understand why Milk wouldn't consider him. Please, don't accept the offer; let Nani pursue his dream."

Sky remained silent, wrestling with the conflicting advice.

Later, back in his room, his father called. "You must agree to be Milk's model," his father insisted, his tone brooking no argument.

Torn between his father's demands and Dew's plea, Sky knew only one person could help him: Nani.  He hurried to Nani's room and knocked. Nani opened the door, his expression unreadable. "What do you need?" he asked, his voice flat.

"Can I talk to you? Just for a minute?" Sky pleaded.

"No, I'm busy—" Nani began, starting to close the door.  Sky quickly stopped him.

"Wait," Sky urged.

Nani glared at him, his irritation evident.
