Thirty six

Riley was starting to get tired of her her dad acting like he was a saint. How dare he say anything bad about Levi, the guys or any guy after what he had done!

Riley walked along to Drew's house. Frowning, and kicking around little stones that got in her way. She sighed, and walked into his gate and up the pathway before opening his front door.

"Drew?" She then called out. "In here, Riles!" She heard the girls call. Turning into the living room, everyone sat around. "Hey!" They all greeted her, and Levi looked up from his phone and smiled sitting up. "Hi" She waved, as she walked in.

"You okay?" Drew asked her. "Hm..." She nodded. "No, you're not..." Harper began. Levi moved over on the sofa, and made space for her to sit down smiling. Riley smiled, and sat down as she sighed. "Parents. Well...dad" Riley cleared her throat. Levi frowned as he looked at her.

"That why you're late?" Harper turned to her. Riley looked at her, and nodded. "Mhm!" She quickly responded. "What's going on?" Austin asked, as he sat across from her. "Apparently, I'm delusional for ever thinking that I could be in a relationship with a guy at this age. I dont know what love is, I think it's game and I dont know what I'm doing." Riley nodded.

"Well...everyone at this age." She nodded at everyone. "What?" Nate chuckled. "I'm tired of him being a hypocrite. After what he's done, then tells me that I can't like someone." Riley rolled her eyes.  "You like someone?" Austin smirked, asking the obvious. Riley stared at him, before shaking her head.

"Enough about me. Austin, what is the news?" She then asked. He sighed, and sat back. Looking around at everyone, as all eyes were on Austin. "No one knows?" She then asked. "We didnt start, we waited on you" He then smiled. "Oh I'm sorry!" Riley sighed. "No! Course not, no worries" Austin smiled.

"Yeah come on, what is it?" Harper then grinned. Austin sighed, and soon a disappointed face appeared as his expression. "Um...I got word back from a college I applied for" He began. Everyone smiled widely. "It was an arts school, and I had an audition...I went, and got rejected. Right there...and then" He nodded, as he began to stare into space.

"Wait, what?!" Harper asked. "How did you get rejected?" Drew asked, looking rather offended. "It's simple." Austin scoffed, as he shrugged a little. "I went, did it, then got boot out the door...literally" He sighed. "Wait, why didnt you tell us about it?" Riley asked. "Because of this. The disappointment" He shook his head.

"Awh babe" Harper slid down from the arm of the chair, to beside him as she put her around around him. "That's crap. You should've told us, we would've been there" Riley told him, and everyone nodded in agreement. "I didnt want to disappoint. Which is now the obvious" Austin sighed.

"I thought you guys wanted to be a band?" Scarlet asked. The guys turned to her. "Oh we like playing together" Drew nodded and smiled. "Yeah but...you guys are a band. You are awesome, together" Riley told them, as she looked at Levi. "Yeah, you fit into each instrument. That's who you are" Scarlet nodded with a smile.

"We all want to do music. We just havent...thought about going out there as one. Like, I play the bass with the guys but I like to play guitar" Levi told them. "...And ukulele" Riley then told them quietly, with a small smile. Levi chuckled, as he went a little pink. Everyone looked at them with a sly face.

"How come they let you go? You're an amazing singer!" Harper sighed, as she ran her hand up and down Austin's back. "Better people, better talent" Austin shrugged. "You're better!" Harper shook her head. Sighing, she then looked up at everyone. "Pissed off now." She then scoffed. "No, dont. Seriously...this just puts me on the ball...more" Austin nodded as he patted her knee.

"Thank you" He then smiled at her. "Well they let someone really great, go. That's their loss" Scarlet told him. "Yeah totally!" Everyone agreed. "Yeah man" Nate and Drew leaned over and patted him. "Thanks guys" Austin nodded with a small smile.

"I just know, I have to practice more. Maybe even audition for the towns show choir competition" He chucked, as if he was kidding.

The competition. The same one, they auditioned for last year and lost to those guys! The one Oscar was talking about. Riley thought for a moment, before she smiled.

"Wait...the show choir?" She asked. "Oh yeah, that place. Where we were crowned the losers!" Nate chuckled. Drew looked at him, and punched his arm. "Ow" Nate laughed. "Not a place I'd like to repeat" Levi cleared his throat, and Austin nodded.

"Wait guys...here me out okay?" Riley sat forward. "I think...you should try out" She told them. "Why? and fail again" Nate looked at her. "Who said you'd fail? You guys are awesome! Seriously, I think you have a real shot" Riley nodded.

The girls looked at her.

"Come on. Like...you guys like to write, right?" She chuckled. The guys then looked at her. Oh right...only Levi told her that. "Someone's been passing info" Drew smirked, as he eyed both her and Levi up. "You guys write?" Harper asked. "Only a couple songs...." Austin shrugged.

"I think you should do it!" Riley nodded. "We have to hear one!" Scarlett nodded, grinning. "I...agree." Harper then smiled widely. "No, guys...." Austin began. "No. No no's, no buts...I'm serious. Guys, I believe in you. The three of us do, and we seriously think you guys have a shot!" Riley nodded to the girls.

"Yeah!" They both agreed with her. Levi stared at Riley, as a smile appeared on his face. "We should try it" He then added. "What?!" Austin and Nate asked. "Yeah, come on. We can do this, we can beat those...snob nosed dicks. Guys, come on...we even have support!" He grinned as he looked at the girls, and Riley.

"I'm up for it. I mean, I love it." Drew raised his hand. "Yeah, come on guys!" Harper nodded to Austin. He stared at everyone for a moment before sighing. "Okay, okay we'll do it" He nodded. "No, no! I'm not getting humiliated by those assholes again!" Nate threw his arms up, in surrender. "Oh come on! Please...we'll be rooting for you!" Scarlet stood up and headed over to him.

She wrapped her arms around him, swaying him around and everyone began to laugh. "Scar, stop!" Nate laughed. "Please, please!!" She held him. "Fine! Fine, okay!"He told them giving in. "On one condition!" He then looked at her. "Anything" She smiled. "...You have a date, with me" He smirked.

"Oooh" Everyone cooed. "Deal" Scarlet blushed.

"So we're going to do this?!" Riley nodded. "We're going to do it!" Austin agreed. "Yes!" They grinned. "You should get to writing." Riley smirked, as she looked to Levi.
