my karate tournament is tomorrow. pissing my pants rn as we speak im so nervous

Hyemin sighed as she entered the all too familiar rink. She hasn't skated in months due to her injury but now, her doctor allowed her to. She felt excitement bubbling inside her as she greeted her friends. 

"Hyemin? It's been a while since we saw you," one of her friends greeted.

A large smile displayed on her lips, "Yeah. It feels good to be here again."

"I'm glad you're here again," said Minhee. "It's been awfully quiet these past months. As much as I don't want to admit it, I missed your annoying ass." 

All of them burst into laughter at Minhee's words. They chatted for a few more minutes before going into the rink.

"Must feel nice." said a familiar voice.

Hyemin instantly knew who it was. She turned around to face him, "Yeah it is."

"It's like meeting an old friend." they both said in unison. Sunghoon glanced at her and let out a small chuckle. 

"Well, I'm gonna go now so see ya." she muttered, turning around.

She turned around the corner and stopped in her tracks as soon as she saw him. He was looking around for something- no someone. 

Fuck, what is he doing here?

She swiftly turned around and ran back where she came from. 

"Why did he have to come here? I thought I told him to stop bothering me gosh!" Hyemin sighed frustatedly. 

Muttering a string of curse words, she wasn't looking where she was going and harshly bumped into Sunghoon. 

Hyemin contemplated whether to ask for his help or not before making an irrational choice. 

"Hey, could you do me a favor?" Hyemin asked. Before Sunghoon could even answer her question she spoke up once again. 

"Yeom Hyunwoo is on his way here. Could you please tell him to leave? He won't listen to me so maybe he'd listen to you." She spoke quickly. "Thanks I'll owe you one later."

And with that, she took her skates and hid in the girls' bathroom. She could only hope that he would stop if he heard it from Sunghoon. She didn't understand what was Hyunwoo's problem.

He was the one who cheated on her. He was the one who called off their relationship. Over text too. He was the reason she broke her leg. And now he wanted her to take him back? Pathetic. 

Ever since she got over him, she promised herself to never have any high hopes in men anymore. He had broken her heart and left her to pick up the pieces.

Looking back, she cringed at how much she cried over that jerk. But she swore that it would be the last time she cried over any guy excluding Na Jaemin. 

After waiting there for about 10 minutes, she thought it'd be safe to finally leave. She looked around and it looked like no one was there so she assumed classes had already started. 

She made a mental note to thank Sunghoon later while heading to the rink.

After doing her night routine, she grabbed a chocolate bar and plopped on her bed. Hyemin didn't know why but she felt really good. Ever since she'd left the rink, she hasn't gotten any phone calls or texts messages from him anymore.

Her thoughts suddenly drifted to Sunghoon. She wondered what he'd make her do to return her favor.

Maybe he's gonna make me do his physics homework for a week.

Her eyes unknowingly went over to the window. She could see Sunghoon's figure running his hands through his hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt that fitted his figure perfectly. 

Even though she didn't want to admit it, he was undeniably handsome. 

As much as Hyemin wanted to look away, she couldn't. He had this sort of alluring vibe to him, making everyone look his way whether they liked it or not. 

Perhaps that was why so many girls always liked him. She'd always hear them gush and rave about how handsome and kind he was and Hyemin kind of agreed. 

Handsome? Maybe. Kind? I don't think so.

Hyemin wondered whether maybe he was kind to every other girl but her. She wouldn't be surprised if that were true. But one thing she always wanted to know was why he resented her so much. 

She still remembered their first encounter together. Hyemin may have accidentally bumped into him on her first day here and she did apologize but he just ignored her.

And when 10-year-old Hyemin discovered out he skated too she was rather delighted with the thought that she had a friend who shared the same interest as her. 

So when she found out he was in her rival team she was a little discouraged. She tried to be friends with him a few times but he always brushed off her efforts.

If she had to be honest, the only reason why she started to dislike him too was that he disliked her. 

If he'd treat her like any other girl, she was sure she'd probably have a crush on him like the other girls. 

Too bad we're rivals. 

She could see his hands going down to his shirt and when he raised his arms up to take off his shirt, Hyemin looked away instantly.

She could feel her cheeks heat up when she realized she caught a glimpse of his abs. She hurried to her window and closed the curtains. She tried thinking of something else but the image still stayed on her mind. 

Aish this idiot. Doesn't he close his curtains?

In an attempt to think of something else, she grabbed her phone and scrolled through her social media. She got a notification and it was a follow request.

Clicking on it, she slightly widened her eyes at the unexpected request.
