Day 19- Fernandes's hidden feelings and thoughts

13:34, 10 September 2016

"So...I bought all the baby food I could find in the store." I dropped the heavy plastic bags on Jellal's table and dusted my hands. "Man, it's hard...I wonder how moms do it."

"You didn't had to do that." He said as he played with the baby with his index.

"Well, since I found her, she has become my responsibility as well, so...anyway, what did you name her?"

"Laila." He said with a slight smile.

"Laila? Huh...that's a beautiful name."

"That's why I chose it."

"Laila Fernades." I uttered. "That's cute."

"Hm." He looked at me, "I made posters."

"You did?"

"Uh-huh, come on, let me show you." He got up from the couch and headed upstairs, I followed suit.

"That was quick." I said.

"Well, we gotta find the mom or dad ASAP." He sat across his computer and signalled me to sit on the chair beside as well.

"I hope this works though." He clicked open a folder and chose an Image. Promptly, a photo of Laila sleeping popped up on the screen.

Above it was written,

Name- Not known.Age - Around a year. Found - Near a trash can at 14th street.

If found the owner of the baby, please contact xxxxxxxxx

"That's perfect." I said, "We could also try giving it the the daycare centres."

"Right."

"You have done a great job Jellal," I glanced at him and he glanced at me back, "but, I'm sorry that it's you who has to go through all this trouble cause of me..."

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"I mean, I found the baby, but the one working hard to find its parent is you."

"It's an unavoidable matter, isn't it?"

"It is, but--"

"Scarlet, just go and check on Laila."

"But Fernandes--"

"Erza," He looked at me, "I want to do this for her. I don't know why, but the moment I saw her...it was like I wanted to care for her. I wanted to find her mom or dad or whoever so badly...I just don't want her life to become--" he suddenly stopped and averted his eyes from mine.

There's definitely something about him that he's not letting out to me. Something he's been hiding since yesterday. I know it's his private life and I have no right to interfere, but I need to know. I want to know so that I can comfort him.

"Just go and check on her. She might be awake by now." He focused his gaze back at the laptop.

"All right..." I slowly got up and headed towards the door.

"Jellal, you know holding back whatever you want to say will only make it worse to say it ever." I said and left the room.

Maybe, someday maybe, he will let out everything to me and trust me with his words.

Me and Jellal stuck Laila's posters on every public place we could put our foot on.

"You sure think this will work?" I asked and all he did was nod.

Well, guess all we need to do now is wait...

Though, Jellal does look a bit--what do you say--uh, tensed? Maybe. Yeah, it's like he's desperate to find the mother or the father of this child.

"Scarlet, let's go home."

"Yeah..."

I wonder...did something of the sort happened to him?
