Auroras pov

If you told my middle school self I'd be out partying practically every day of winter break, I'd probably have a stroke.

But my parents are coming back from their anniversary trip tomorrow, to celebrate Christmas with us, so tonight's the last night. But for now..

Back at it again, I think, throwing open the party doors.

Hopefully my brothers don't decide to crash, this time. The party's at Annie's house. So spotting Isaac across the room, I know he's definitely off limits tonight, try all he might.

But of course, the party's at Annie's house, which means it's ten times louder, chaotic, crowded, and sketchy, than usual.

Most people are down stairs, the lights off and being replaced by flashing disco lights, lighting up people's faces in flashes of red, green, blue, and purple. The ones that are upstairs are hooking up. Well, you can do that downstairs, too. I scrunch my face at a couple going at it on the floor in a corner. And the best part, the line for the bathroom reminds me of the wait for a Disneyland ride.

Arianna hollers from beside me, "HEY BITCHES!!", as we walk in, and I wonder if acting drunk is just a permanent state she's in.

The dramatic entrance does, though, grab the attention of Eliana, whose face lights up at the sight of me.

I give Arianna a pat on the back, "try not to make a fool of yourself," I grin jokingly, and saunter over to my more recent best friend, who rolls her eyes at the sight of me.

"Still waiting on the day you don't look like the hottest girl alive." Eliana says, grabbing my wrist above my head as I do a twirl. I'm wearing a dark red mini dress, my hair loose and free.

"Girl, right back at you." I eye her up and down in her royal purple maxi dress. But the resemblance, however different in personalities, makes me think of her sister. God, I would hate to have a twin.

Me and Eliana alternate from chatting, dancing, and lowkey stalking all the cute guys at the party. Which, she insisted on not paying any mind too, preaching about having eyes only for her boyfriend.

And eventually we've made our way onto Annie's plush gray sofa, after snagging it the second it cleared up.

So when Eliana wants to refill our drinks, I tell her I'll stay to save our seats. Bad idea. Because as soon as Eli gets up, one of the guys we were stalking immediately swoops in to take her seat.

Being cute is not an excuse for being rude. And although I'm one to talk, I open my mouth to argue with him, searching for Eliana in the crowd.

She spots me and winks, making a go ahead motion with her hands, and then walking towards Demitra.

I turn my attention back to the boy in front of me. I don't recognize him, so he must not go to my school. But then again, the Kalogeras sisters don't either.

"This seat taken?" Blond boy asks. He's attractive, but in an unsettling way. Must be a model. Sand colored hair, smooth skin, and light blue, pale eyes, the color of a misty spring.

"We can make exceptions." I smile back. Which makes him laugh, and lean in.

"What other exceptions do you think we can make?" He asks me, his eyes trailed on my lips, mine trailed on his. They flicker up for a second.

"How many do you want?" I breathe. And that's all it takes before he's on me, his mouth working against mine. Adjusting my hips, I lean back as he comes on top, my head flat against the couch cushions.

A snaking feeling comes over me, slithering down my spine, like I'm being watched. But I tell myself there's probably a hundred people at this party, and ignore it. Choosing instead to focus on the wet heat being pressed against my lips as blondie makes out with me feverishly.

He slides down, his teeth grazing down my neck until he finds a spot to focus on. It does feel kinda good. And I bathe in the attention, but I can't shake that feeling of being watched, to the point I'm feeling uncomfortable. I peek open my eyes and scan the crowd,

Immediately locking onto Demitra's.

The moment our eyes meet, neither of us can do anything. I freeze, like the sense of time around us. And Demitra doesn't so much as blink as she stands there. Watching as a guy drools over me, pressing my body into the couch below us.

We stay like that for a second. Or a minute, or five. The world around me slips and twists into a warp of heated tension. Neither of stir a muscle.

But then blonde boy bites down on a particularly sweet spot on my neck, and my bodies reaction is to arch my back, throwing my head back, my lips parting in a quiet whimper.

When I look back up, Demitra is gone.

Just slightly disappointed, I'm about to relax back into the couch, when I feel a hand wrap around my wrist, another coming to the fabric of my dress. They yank me off the gray sofa, right out from under blonde boy, who watches the scene with a confused look on his face.

I start to panic, a second from pushing and shoving, and maybe even screaming, when an all too familiar scent drifts over me.

She drags me into the bathroom, miraculously empty. God, the universe just loves to torture me.

And when my back is slammed into the white tiled wall, does Demitra Kalogeras pissed off face finally fill my vision. She smooths her expression out.

"Stop it." She grinds her teeth, her eyes betraying her and showing a fraction of anger. And a thousand other emotions.

I relax into the wall behind me, not trying to stop the on edge feeling that creeps into my veins as her eyes scan me up and down. "Stop what?" I ask, bored. I'm anything but.

Her hands are twitching by her sides, like they want to be anywhere else. "You know exactly what you're doing."

The energy between us is crackling. Like every ounce of energy in my body is tugged on by every ounce of energy in hers. Her presence is amplified, until everything she does leaves a mark, an indent, somewhere on my body.

I blink, accepting the fact that I can't run from Demitra Kalogeras. She'll always be invading my head, whether she's there physically or not. And I can't run from the way my body reacts to her, how I desperately, achingly, want to be near her. "Maybe I do." I say, blatantly staring at her lips, and I start feeling a little like blonde boy. "And if you want me to stop.." I continue, my voice low, just above a breathy whisper. I grab her hands, guiding them up, planted on the wall next to my head.

Her body naturally leans in to me. Until I'm caged beneath her arms, and our faces are awfully close.

"You'll have to make me." I whisper, turning her gaze to fire. She gets closer, until I can feel her hot breath on my face. My stomach is doing nauseating flips as I slowly part my lips, time slowing more and more as she leans in and—

"HAS ANYONE SEEN—" Eliana bursts into the bathroom. I jump out from under Demitra, both of us parting like the fucking Red Sea as we pretend to be doing anything then what we were just doing.

"Wow, what's up with you two?" She asks, looking us both up and down. I'm about to open my moth and offer the most lamest excuse ever but she cuts me off first.

"You know I've been looking everywhere for you! I thought you got like kidnapped or something!" Eli's words are slurred, and though a flash of suspicion washes over her, her face is drunkenly flushed.

Both me and Demitra not so secretly breath a sigh of relief.
