peace offering

Rider's POV

I woke up and groaned. I couldn't move anything. It all hurt. I looked next to me and I didn't see the chunk of ice that I grabbed onto. Instead, I saw a dragon kneeling over me.

"Are you dead?"

"I don't think so"

"Are you okay?"

"Everything hurts, but I will live. Where am I?"

"You are on an island. I brought you to the first one I saw."

"Did you bring me to safety?"

"Yes."

"Thank you. I owe you my life. You are in debt of the dragon prince."

"Wow! You are the dragon prince? What were you doing out in the ocean like that?"

"I was kidnapped by vikings. They tried to take me back to their island, but luckily I escaped. I have to get back to the nest and evacuate everybody. They are in danger as long as the vikings know where they are."

"You don't have to go back. They are not there. They are looking for you as we speak. "

"Do you know where they are?"

"No, but I can scout up ahead and see where they are."

"Hopefully they are not at berk. I don't like berkians, but I don't want to see them getting hurt. And even more, I don't want to see my friends getting hurt. "

"If they are there, I will tell them that you are fine. And I will tell them where you are. In the meantime, you should find a cave and stay there. That way the waterdragons won't find you. Stay hidden and out of sight."

He flew off. "Wait! I didn't get your name!"

"It's Scullcrusher."

He flew on. I found a cave a few miles away from the beach. I went in deep. Tbere were no sighns of a bear ora dragon or anything for that matter.

I found a bunch of leaves and made myself a bed.

At least it was more comfortable than rock.

I layed down and closed my eyes ad fell aleep almost immediately.

I woke up when I felt that I was moving. I looked around and saw that I was on a dragon's back. It wasn't Toothless. It was someone else. A waterdragon.

"Where am I?"

"He's awake. The king will be pleased. King would want to see him." Said the dragon.

"Where are you taking me?"

"We will be going under soon." The dragon was still talking to another dragon.

"Wait! I can't breathe under water! You will kill me!"

"Do you think we should get the king up here, or should we just leave the kid be?" Asked the other dragon.

"Leave me be! Leave me be!"I answered for the dragon that I was riding on.

"Nah, let's bring the king up. He won't be happy if the kid is dead or if we let him go."

"You know we would have to go back underwater again some time, right?"

"Yeah, we will just chain the kid to a rock on the island near the nest. "

"Sounds good."

"Let go of me!"I yelled

"By the way, how do you think he can speak dragonease?"

"I am Rider! The prince of land dragons!"

"Oh no! If the bewilderbeast finds out that we stole his prince once again, he will kill us for sure!"

"That's bad. Maybe we should just let him go now. "

"In the middle of the ocean?"

"Yes, we make it look like an accident. "

"Sounds good. But what if the boy survives?"

"We are like twenty metres high over the ocean. That would at least break all of his bones. Probably kill him too."

"No! Please! If you take me home, I promise that I wouldn't let the Alfa attack your nest! Just take me back to where you found me. If you do, I will probably not even tell him! "

"Should we trust him?"

"Probably. He is a dragon prince after all. I think that's the only way our tribes can ever be united. The Alfa is probably already at the island. We should maybe use him as a peace offering."

"I must admit that's a good idea. We could become allies."

"That sounds great!"

"Ok, we take him back to the island and wait for the Alfa to show up, then we give him the kid and make peace. But we should knock the kid out first."

"Good idea."

And he let go.

Alfa's POV

Scullcrusher came to us and told me where Rider was. He lead me to a tropical island. There was a fire, but no sign of Rider anywhere.

"Well, where is he?" Stareted getting irritated.

"He is somewhere around here in a cave. I told him to stay out of sight."

Knowing Rider, he would be very hard to find. He was a great camouflager. He could paint himself like a tree and he could hide for hours. But, as Scullcrusher told me, he was exhausted and probably somewhere in a cave nearby.

After searching the entire island, I found something. It was a bundle of leaves in a cave . It had his scent on it. But he wasn't there.

I walked back to Scullcrusher and said," I thought you said that he was here."

"He is! We just have to keep looking."

" We have searched the entire island and there has been no sign of him anywhere!"

Just when I finished my sentence, I saw two waterdragons heading our way. One of them was carrying something in its paws.

They landed here. The thing the one was carrying was hidden.

They both bowed.

"What do you want, dragons of water? "

"We are here to make a peace offering,"

"This is not a good time. Come back later."

"Ok, if you don't want to see your prince, that's fine with me. " They started to turn around to fly off.

"You have Rider? " they grinned and nodded.

" I want to see him first. "

"What? Don't you trust us?"

"You have betrayed us several times. Why should I trust you? "

"Because we are the only ones who knows where your prince is."

"Can I see him?"

"Oh, okay! Just keep your scales on!"

They backed away and I saw Rider. He layed on the ground. He was unconscious and he was wet. I knew Rider better than anyone. He wouldn't be unconscious unless he was badly hurt.

"What did you do to him?"

"He might have slipped out of my paws once or twice..."

"How high above the water were you?"

"About twenty metres......"

"How would he be able to survive that kind of fall? He's just a boy! You are lucky he's not dead!" Yelled Toothless.

"His skin is too smoothe. I can't hold on to something that smoothe"

"Why not pust him on your back? It's easier that way."

"Do you want him or not?"

I walked up to them and said under my breath," if you ever bring any harm to him again, I will personally hunt you down and tear you apart."

They stepped aside and I let toothless pick him up.

I thanked them and we were of to find a better, safer home.
