Chapter 33

Woke up early and phoned my girlies, 'fancy helping me pick out a dress?' 'What's the occasion?' Asked Al, damn I hadn't told them....'a wedding' I replied 'who's getting married one of the lifeguards?' I laughed 'yeah' 'which one' she sounded soo enthusiastic...not! 'Whippet' there was a long silence at the end of the phone...'OMG Charlie!!!!!' She screamed I held the phone away from my face it was so loud. 'Fancy helping me then?' I giggled 'ermmm yeah! Does Jo know?' 'Yeah I phoned before you, meet you here in 30 minutes?' 'Yeah of course' she definitely sounded more enthusiastic now! I then phoned my mum...she was more than happy to come too.

They came to my house they didn't even knock they both barged in 'lemme see it!!!' They argued 'girls!' They both shut up I put my hand out showing them both 'oh wow, Charlie that's gorgeous' they swooned 'right wedding dresses I've done some research and found a few shops we can try' they both clapped excitedly. my mum knocked and the girls both ran to give her a hug. we all went and we got in Jo's car....first wedding dress shop here we come

We walked in and was greeted by a old woman 'who's getting married?' 'I am' I stepped forward, she looked me up and down pushed her glasses up her nose and went to fetch some dresses...what she came back with...well...the first one...there was not one but of flesh on show I walked out of the dressing room, the old woman thought it was wonderful, me and the girlies not so much...'yeah covers too much, it's a beach wedding I need to be cool' I said she tutted at me, well that was it I changed out of it 'come on girls next shop!'

The second shop...we were greeted by a young woman, she was a Barbie...great I'm going to go from one extreme to the other...she found me a wedding dress, I've never seen anything like it...the bit that was covered was VERY minimal and one false move and everything would slip, 'I think we will look else where thanks!' She was too busy sorting out her hair extensions and fake tan smudges to care.

The last shop we were greeted by a middle aged man, he offered us champagne and chocolates, the girls were happy to munch on those...I didn't want any, who know what choices I'd be making!..I told him what wedding I was having and he came back with three dresses matching shoes, veils and tiaras...I LIKED him! 'Who are you gettin married to anyone famous?' He joked ' looked at my mum 'well you could say' that she laughed 'oh??' He was gay...for sure! (I'm not against gays!) 'Ryan Clark?' My mum said...well that was it then! 'Oh hunny!!! Damn he's off the market! Soo tell me how yo guys met!?' I told him about the whole granny pants, he was in stitches 'well hunny we all have those comfortable pants we have to take everywhere' he smiled, he picked out a dress, a pair of shoes and a veil 'right we will sit here and wait for you to change' I nodded and walked away...the first dress...it was short, knee length, pretty basic with a silver diamond belt around the middle it had lace around the skirt, this was going to be a tough choice...the shoes were ballet pumps white and silky they went very well with the dress, the veil was small and covered my face slightly it fastened with a flower feature. I looked at myself in the mirror before walking out, I took a breath and pulled back the curtain 'wow' they all said in amazement 'I knoooowwww' I said spinning round 'nope not that one' Matt said (the shop assistant) 'what?' 'No not that one, you're very glam and that doesn't do you justice' 'right okay' he handed me another set and I went to get changed.

The second wedding dress, this time it was to the floor, it was a bit puffy at the bottom it hose rose details down the side, and the back...well if I bent over the world see my arse...but I tried it. There wasn't a veil just a tiara the shoes again were flats...I walked out and stood there, 'ooh' said Jo, I think she liked anything...Al on the other hand 'it makes your arse look huge!' 'AL!' The rest of us said 'what? Jlo may look great with a huge arse BUT! That dress emphasises far to much' Matt looked at me 'oh no it doesn't! It makes her bum look great! Big arses are so in this year' he did a finger clicky thing and he nodded trying to win this argument 'that dress is far to low at the back, she bends over the world will see her builders bum! And it makes her arse look fat!' Argued al 'OI! less of the fat!' I shouted they both turned to look at me and went back to their argument, this continued back and fourth till I'd had enough i stuck two fingers near my mouth and whistled loudly they all stopped 'right...do you have any others I can try Hun?' I smiled 'oh yes hunny I do!' He have Al the death stare, she stuck the ring up at him, he didn't see...thankfully....he came back with a third...

I stood there looking at the third dress. This was the one it was beautiful...the dress...A Chiffon fishtail dress over a satin silky underskirt which peeked thru as the 2 sides that parted at the front. The bust was lace-trimmed with a sweetheart neckline that accentuated my cleavage - had to put those to use somehow I'm sure whip would appreciate it. The bustline was ruched and formed a twist in between my breasts with gentle beading all over the bodice.

I stood in front of the mirror and teared up, don't cry you stupid fool stop getting emotional! I grabbed the veil he'd given me, it was thin, long and it fastened with a diamantéd clip. My hair was already in lose curls from washing it, my hair was naturally curly. I took the veil and pinned it at the back, tweaking it here and there to make it fall right. The shoes he'd given me were silver, flat they were silver and had tinted blue diamonds in the front and fastened around my ankle. I put them both on, they were so comfortable. I looked in the mirror I got so excited I walked out with a big grin on my face. No one said anything at first 'that's beautiful...' My mum blubbed 'oh don't cry!!' I said softly the girls all stood up and examined the dress Matt had disappeared and came back with a pack of tissues for mum 'here hunny' my mum took some...then Al then Jo, god they were all at it! I turned to Matt 'this....this is the one' I smiled he girly clapped and told me to take it all off he'd meet me at the checkout.

I got back into my normal clothes and packed the dress in the bag...mum and the girlies had calmed down and met me at the desk. 'Do I get an invite?' He giggled winking 'yeah sure' I smiled 'what? Really?' I nodded Al jabbed me in the ribs 'ow' I said under my breath 'I'm inviting him...deal with it' I muttered she just deep sighed 'Im giving you a discount' 'ah thankyou' I smiled 'no trouble for my favourite customer' I laughed 'oh yeah how many you said that too then?' He acted as if he'd been mortally wounded 'I don't...but you're marrying Ryan Clark!' He smiled he actually knocked off 50%....'that's too much!' 'Hunny I earn thousands a day...celebrities come in here!' Nothing like blowing your own trumpet much...'thank you again, ill bring to the invite next week' I said walking out the shop 'look forward to it darling' he waved.

We got in the car and drove back home...I put the dress in the wardrobe so whip wouldn't see it, the girls went home after having 2 cups of coffee, and near enough 2 slices of cake each. I flopped on the sofa and drew up how I thought the room should look. Whip came in from work 'hey chick had any success?' I nodded excitedly 'how about keeping a lifeguard/surfing theme running through it?' He nodded interested 'white and blue,' I continued to tell him about the beach wedding and what would happen he loved it all....'what am I wearing?' 'And your best man' I added 'who's it gunna be?' He paused 'Mouse...' I smiled I loved mouse 'he's lovely' he nodded. I got out my laptop and we looked at different suits we settled on a black one that had a blue lifeguard colour shirt 'perfect' he said we looked where it was from....Matts shop...oh dear god poor Matt would have a heart attack...I didn't tell him thought I'd let him find out for himself the next day.
