MISTY'S P.O.V

I walked out of the hotel and accidentally bumped into someone.

It was a woman.

She was a few inches taller than me. Her hair was a mix of blue and black and she shining, black eyes. She looked familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it.

"Oh I'm so sorry dear!" She told me but paused. She looked me up and down. I wondered if that was some sort of thing in Kanto.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up and she clapped her hands together. "Oh my! You don't happen to be Misty Waterflower do you?" She asked me. "Um yes...how do you know me?" I asked her cautiously. She giggled. "Oh silly me! I'm sorry! You've probably only seen me in pictures! Also I got a haircut recently...but no need to worry!" She said waving her hands. No need to worry? That was Dawn's.....

My eyes widened from shock. No wonder she had looked familiar! She was Dawn and Tracey's mom! Dawn had told me that she came her to help her family and send them money. I smiled. Just like how I want to help my family back home....

I looked her up and down. I laughed at how much she looked like Dawn. No wait. How much Dawn looked like her. She didn't hold any resemblance to Tracey but I heard Tracey got his looks from his dad who was working in Hoenn. "Are you Ms. Johanna?" I asked. "Yes! I heard you are friends with my Dawnie!" She squealed. "Yea Dawnie I mean Dawn is my best friend!" I said. "Ooh! And you're dating my son, Tracey, aren't you? Since you're dating my son, you can call me Aunt Johanna!" She said, smiling brightly. I guess Tracey hadn't told her that I broke up with him yet. She took hold of my hand. "Come come! I'll show you around!" She said excitedly. I nodded and she waved over a rickshaw. I looked at it excitedly. I'd never been in a real rickshaw before! I gently petted the horse that would be pulling us before climbing into the carriage.

For the next hour, the rickshaw pulled us around Pallet Town which was a part of Kanto. It was a nice place with many meadows of flowers. It smelled nice. Like chocolate and honey. Mmm.

Finally, we arrived back at the hotel. She told me to come visit her and she would help me get a job and my green card. She handed me a slip of paper with her number and address and waved goodbye as the rickshaw pulled away. I waved until I couldn't see the carriage anymore.

I skipped inside and hurried up to the room which I shared with Dawn. She was gonna be happy that I had found her mom. I got to the room and opened the door. "Where have you been?!" She asked, rushing up to me. "Calm down Dawn! Look when I went outside, I bumped into someone! It was your mom!" I exclaimed. "My...my mom?" She said, tearing up. "My mom is here?" I pulled her into a hug as she burst out in tears of happiness. "I *hic* am so glad *hic* that I *hic* got that extension with *hic* you!" She hiccuped, laughing. She pulled away and took a tissue from her pocket. She wiped at my shirt. I glanced slightly and saw that a bit of her mascara had run into my shirt. I laughed. Seeing my friend like this was rare for me because she always tried to pull a cool front. Only I have ever seen her cry. I mean not even Tracey, her own step-brother, has seen her cry!

I told her to get some rest and that we'd see her mom tomorrow. She nodded and went to bed, happily. I went to my side of the room and flung my stuff on the floor. I kicked off my shoes and threw my coat off. Then I flopped into the fluffy sheets and buried my head into the soft pillows and immediately fell asleep.

THE NEXT MORNING

DAWN'S P.O.V

I woke up refreshed and ready for the day. I wiped at my sleepy eyes as I glanced over at Misty. My red-headed best friend. She looked really happy even though she was still asleep. I'm really glad I decided to stay with her. I had promised to help her find her mom's grave. We really had high hopes that her grave was in Pallet. If not....

No! Don't think about those things! There is no need to worry! I laughed thinking about how Misty liked to tease me by saying my catch phrase to random strangers. I owed it to Misty to help her. She had helped me plenty of times when Kenny tried to harass me or if Paul hurt me. Unknowingly of course. He still doesn't know I like him. I sighed thinking about the purple-haired boy. He was just so...cool! I've known him since we were five. He used to tease me but stopped when he found out my mom went to Kanto to help us out. Not many know it but Paul is actually really a sweetie. When we were six, Misty went on a vacation with her sisters to some aquarium which I know Misty loved.

*FLASHBACK* WHEEE!

Dawn sat down on a swing after walking around the playground, aimlessly. She kicked her feet to give herself motion and sighed as the swing moved slowly. Things just weren't the same for her without her best friend, Misty. She looked up and saw the three bullies of Sinnoh Primary School. Her enemies. "Hey loser. Get off our swings." The leader, Trip, said. Trip was not very tall but his blue eyes were sharp and intimidating. His lackeys, Bianca and Stephan, laughed. Bianca was tall for her age. She had blond hair like Trips but had brown eyes and always wore a green beret. Stephan on the other hand, was a chubby boy with scarlet red hair which he always swept up. "Yea you better do what he says you ugly girl!" Bianca retorted. "Yea ugly girl!" Stephan copied and they snickered. Trip held up his hand in annoyance causing them to stop. "Shut up guys." He said to them. "Now Dawn-" "Yea shut up guys!" Bianca said not realizing it was meant for her. Trip glanced back and glared at her. She silently cowered back and closed her mouth. "Now as I was saying. Get off our swings or you're gonna get it." Trip said pushing Dawn off her swing. Dawn fell on her back and had hurt her hand from trying to catch herself. She tried to hold back tears as blood slowly trickled from her palm. "I...I...I-I'm s-sorry...." She whispered. Trip smirked. "Without Misty to protect you, you're just a weak little girl who is a total lose-" He said but got suddenly pulled back and swung to the ground. He groaned and looked up to see Paul. "Go away. Don't mess with Dawn." Paul growled. Bianca and Stephan whimpered. "C-Come on Trip. Let's go." Stephan said trying to help him up. Trip slapped away his hand and picked himself up. He glared at Paul hoping to intimidate him but Paul just glared back. Soon, Trip got tired and spit on Paul's shoe. "We'll be back." Trip said and walked away with Bianca and Stephan rushing after him. Paul turned back to Dawn. "You ok Dawn?" He asked, kneeling down next to her. Dawn looked at him, carefully. "W-What do you want?" She asked him, a little scared. Paul scoffed. "I don't want anything from you. I believe I asked you a question though." He said and noticed her bleeding hand. He took her and examined it to make sure there was no tiny pebbles or dirt in the wound. She blushed lightly. "Th-thank you...Paul...." She said, looking down. Paul looked at her slightly. He looked at her face and wiped away a tear. Then he went back to examine her hand. "Yea whatever..." He said. Then he got up and held out his hand. "Wanna swing with me?" He asked her. She looked up at him and then at the swings. She only liked swinging with Misty but she decided to make an exception for him. She took his hand and nodded. He pulled her up. "I'll push you ok?" He said, holding out a swing for her. Soon, the two were swinging and talking as if they were the best of friends.

END OF FLASHBACK...nuuuuu

I blushed. What am I doing thinking about Paul? This is for Misty! I looked at my phone and saw that it was 8:00 in the morning. The rest of the choir would be leaving on their flight soon. I know Misty is gonna want to wish them a safe flight. I got up and trudged over to her bed. I swiftly pulled off her blankets and shook her. "Come on Misty....wake up!" I urged her. Misty grumbled. "Nnn...five more minutes Violet..." My face heated up. Violet? Violet?! I won't let her mistake me for Violet! Violet is always trying to snag Paul's attention from me! I growled. "WAKE UP!" I shouted. Misty sprang up, looking around in shock. "I-I'm up! I'm up!" Misty saw me and calmed down. "Oh...it's just you..." She said and sighed. I groaned. "Come on! Don't you want to say bye to everyone?" I asked her. She looked down at her phone. "Oh no! Their flight leaves in thirty minutes! Let's go!" She said and rushed around the room, throwing on her clothes. I changed into my own clothes while she toasted up two stroodles for us. "Here! Eat your stroodle! Now come on!" She said and ran out the door. I shoved the toaster pastry into my mouth and ran out after her. We managed to make it to the hotel doors before everyone left. "Hey guys! Have a safe flight!" Misty breathed hugging them all.

Paul came over to me. "Hey..." He said. "Hey..." I said back. We stared at our feet and the ground trying to avoid our eyes. Finally, he sighed and tugged at his sweatshirt. The purple one he always wore. I looked at him in shock as he started to pull it off and I covered my eyes. I waited a few seconds and then peeked through my fingers. I saw Paul smirking at me and handing me his sweatshirt. "Here. You'll need it. It's cold here and I don't want you catching the flu or anything..." He said. I blushed and gingerly took the sweatshirt from him. "T-thanks Paul..." I said. There was an awkward silence as I just held onto his hoodie and he just stared at me. Suddenly, he pulled me into a hug and I swear my heart stopped. "P-Paul?!" I asked, confused. I tried to wiggle from his grasp but he just held on tighter. "I'm gonna miss you Dawn." He said. My face felt hot and I tried to cover it. "Um thanks. I uh I'll miss you too Paul." I said. We stood like that for a minute or two and then soon he pulled away. He pulled something from his pocket and handed it to me. I held out my hands and he dropped it. I looked and saw that it was mini Pokemon plushie keychain. Ok I'll admit. Misty and I were a bit of nerds when it came to these little cuties. I smiled when I saw that he had given me a Piplup. It was my favorite Pokemon. "Thanks Paul!" I said. I swear the tiniest faint of red appeared on his cheeks. He smiled back at me. "Bye Dawn. I'll see you soon. Call me." He said, handing me a piece of paper before slipping out the door with the others. Misty and I watched them climb into the bus and we shouted our good byes as they left for the airport. Paul caught my eyes and winked right as the bus turned a corner. I sighed, happily. I slipped on his sweatshirt and allowed myself to wallow in his scent. He smelled like hazelnuts and a hint of mint. I tucked the keychain into the hoodie pocket and registered the number into my phone. I reminded my self to give him a call on my laptop so we could Skype.

Misty tugged at my hand. "Come on! Don't you wanna go see your mom? She said we had to bring all our bags with us so I guess she found us a place to stay. I have her number in my phone. Wanna call her?" She asked and I shook my head. I knew I'd be seeing her soon. If I called her now and heard her voice, I knew I would be crying in the middle of the hotel lobby. Misty smiled, understanding, and then walked to the elevator. "Well come on! Let's go!" She said and I walked after her.

TIME SKIP

We walked down street to street and finally I couldn't take it anymore. "We're lost aren't we?" I asked in exasperation. Misty sighed. "Fine! Fine! We're lost! I'll admit it!" She threw up her hands. "Ugh! I knew we should have taken a cab!" I said. "She said we could be there in 5 minutes! How was I supposed to know I would get lost?" She asked. "It's been half an hour!" I said. Suddenly, her phone rang and her hands fumbled as she struggled to find her phone in her bag. Finally, she pulled her phone out and answered the call before it went to voicemail. "Hello?" She asked. I leaned in and heard a woman's voice. "Oh Misty! Hello! Are you having trouble finding your way?" The woman asked. "Aunt Johanna? Oh yea sorry about that! Yes! Please help!" Misty answered. Aunt Johanna. Johanna? Tears welled up in my eyes. It was my mom! I quickly wiped away my tears as Misty asked directions from my mom.

Soon, Misty turned off her phone and put it back in her bag. "Ok! I know what we-" She started but I glared at her and she sweat dropped. "Ok I mean what I did wrong!" She corrected her self. "Lead the way." I said. We backtracked one street and took the other corner. We ended up at a nice looking building. Probably where my mom lives. "Come on! She lives on the third floor!" Misty exclaimed, running up the stairs. I ran after her. "She said she had a surprise for us! I wonder what it is!" Misty said, ringing the doorbell. I rolled my eyes. Misty loved surprises. They were her weakness since she never got many surprises back home. "Coming!" We heard from inside. There was a click and the door swung open. "Misty! You're here!" She exclaimed. Then she turned to me. "D-Dawn?" She asked. Tears were starting to form in both of our eyes as I nodded. "Mom! It's me!" I said and she pulled me into a hug. "Oh my little Dawnie! How I've missed you! And your brother of course! But having you here makes living here better!" My mother said. I hugged her back and we both cried. That hug was making up for years of not seeing or hugging my mother in person.

After a few minutes, we pulled away and wiped at each other's tears. "Come! Come inside! Bring in your bags! It's cold!" She said picking up our bags and leading us inside. Since we only had one bag besides our purses, we just came inside and closed the door. We looked around. It was a cozy, little apartment with a small kitchen, a tiny dining table,  and a few chairs and small tables. There was a sofa that covered one wall and we found it was a pull out couch. All the walls were lined with pictures. Pictures of our family before she left, pictures of me and Tracey with her as kids, and pictures of us as we grew up without her.

There were three doors at one wall.  Two were bedrooms and the other was a bathroom. She opened up one of the bedroom doors and put down our bags in there. "You can stay with me until you are able to afford your own apartment." She said and we looked around the bedroom we were gonna share. It was small. There was a tiny window on one side and a closet occupied another. There was a bed pushed against the last wall and Misty sat down. She smiled and patted at the soft blankets. "Thank you Aunt Johanna!" Misty smiled. "Yes! Thanks mom!" I said. Mom giggled. "I have another visitor coming so I'll just go prepare some snacks." She said and closed the door behind her.

Misty flopped on the bed, exhausted. "Man am I tired!" She said. "Ugh wake up. There is gonna be someone visiting and I don't think it'll be a very good first impression if you have a bed head." I said, pulling her up. She groaned. "Fine. Fine. Who do you think it'll be? A friend she made here in town?" She asked and I shrugged.

We were lazily playing on our phones when we heard the doorbell ring. Misty jumped up and rushed out. "I'll get it!" She called. I peeked out from our room as she opened the door, ready to make a good first impression. I heard her gasp. "You?!" She exclaimed. I thought it was funny how I heard two voices instead of one. And how the other voice was a guys.

Sorry this one is really long ^~^                ~Jason Hibiki
