Red's first bite

Why was she running?

Red blinked, then stopped, what had happened? Wasn't she just with Azula and the others? Her memory was..... hazy.... like it was a bad dream.

She looked around, confused, blinking, as if trying to make sure everything was real.

"What do we have here?"

Red snapped her head around.

There stood a man, about 16, he was tall, with gold eyes. His hair spiked at the top but was also long, jet black, with pink and yellow streaked into it.

Red tilted her head to the side, oblivious to see the glinting fangs which he smiled with. He kneeled down to her height, taking a few locks of her flaming red pigtail and playing with it, "A little lamb, lost in a dangerous place like this?"

"I'm not scared." Red said bluntly.

The man raised an eyebrow, "No?"

Red shook her head, "No, because my six older brothers are here." She smiles, "They seem strange at first, maybe even a little mean to some people. But they're nice, and good people, I'm not scared of anything with them!"

A wicked smile appeared on his face, "I see...... My name is Ben, what's yours?"

"Red!"

"Nice to meet you Red."

"Ben!"

The two turned their heads to find Reiji having a murderous glare directed towards Ben.

"Reiji-san!" Ben stood up with an overly peppy smile.

"Red." Reiji says, "Come on, the rest are looking for you."

Red rushed over to Reiji, then bowed to him, "I'm sorry." she says.

Reiji said nothing, just glanced at her, then glarred at Ben, who returned it with a sly smile.

"Let's go." Reiji walked away, with Red trailing close behind him. "Red, stay away from him."

Red looked to Reiji, "Why?"

"I don't need to give you a reason! I give you an order, and you obey, is that clear?" Reiji suddenly snapped.

Red jumped back a little, she looked at the ground for a moment, then she looked up to Reiji with a somewhat sad smile, "Ok Reiji-kun." she says, "I trust you. And if you really believe he's a bad person, I'll stay away."

Reiji was a little surprised that she agreed so quickly. Not only that, but she understood his reasons.

"Good." Reiji says, "Now let's go."

They walked side by side in comfortable silence. Soon they were in an empty classroom, and there stood none other than the brothers.

"Red!" Laito's face instantly lit up as he hugged the small girl, "You scared us!"

Red giggles as a light pink dusted her cheeks, "I'm sorry Laito-kun! I didn't mean to leave without saying anything." she says.

Laito stood back up to his full height, "Please don't run off like that again ok?"

"Sorry, I don't know what happened. I heard music and I felt like I had to follow it. I met 4 really nice girls! Azula, Bethany, Dream, and Adriana!"

Ayato rolled his eyes, "Those 4 huh?", he then picked up Red and lightly tossed her in the air before safely catching her. Causing the red head to laugh some more, smiles now noticeable on all the brothers' faces, minus Reiji.

"I also met a man! His name was Ben."

The smiles that were on their faces disappeared. Subaru suddenly looked like he might punch someone, Kanato was squeezing teddy tightly with a look of hate on his face, Shu showed hints of annoyance and possibly anger, Laito bit his lip to stop himself from spewing out cuss words in front of Red, and Ayato forced himself to keep a smile in front of her.

"D-did you now?"

"Yes, but Reiji-kun says stay away. He may have looked nice, but looks are-..." Red stopped for a moment. She put a finger to her mouth in deep thought before looking at Shuu, "What was the word?" she asks.

Shu chuckled, "Decieving."

Red then smiled, "That's it! Looks are deceiving!"

Ayato's real smile returned, "Look at you, you're already learning stuff. You're gonna be smarter than us someday." he says, causing Red to giggle.

Subaru took Red from Ayato and placed her on his shoulders, "Let's go home, it's early morning and school is over." he says.

"Ok!" Red replies, cheerfully while also feeling extremely tall on Subaru's shoulders.

They all walked to the car, Red sat in between Kanato and Reiji. Kanato had actually brought pinky for the young girl, "Thanks Kanato!" she says.

She and Kanato played with their bears half of the ride home, before Red started getting sleepy again.

"It is early morning, try to get some sleep." Reiji says, not looking away from his book as Red gave a loud yawn.

She smiled at him, "Ok..." she said sleepily.

She laid her head down on Reiji's lap, causing him to tense

The brothers all smirked at him, knowing full well how she was worming her way in to his stone cold heart without even knowing it.

Reiji glares at all of them before gently picking up the girl and placing her head in Kanato's lap instead. He wouldn't admit it, but he slightly regretted it, because now he was missing the young girl's comforting warmth.

Reiji went back to his book.

They were soon home and Red woke up, yawning and rubbing her eyes while clutching the small bear in her hands.

"Red, will you please come with me?" Reiji asks politely.

Red smiled and nodded her head.

Reiji led her to his room, Red crawlled into one of the comfy red armchairs and seated herself, still clinging tightly to pinky.

Reiji gave her a less expensive tea cup, in case she was clumsy, and poured a deep red, hot, see through, liquid into her cup.

"Have you tried tea before?" He asked, as Red inhaled the bitter sweet scent from the tea.

She shook her head, "No, I never got the chance to." she says.

Reiji watched her intently as she slowly brought the cup to her lips, "Wait." He says, suddenly appearing in front of her a lightly grabbing the cup, signalling for her not to drink the liquid.

Red stopped just as the drink hit her lips, she didn't swallow any of it. She looked at him confused, "I forgot, this brand of tea really isn't good for one your age." Reiji says, taking the cup from the girl.

Why had he stopped her? He put the concoction in her drink, but for some reason, he stopped her from drinking his own created poison.

He went and dumped the poisoned liquid, deep in thought.

Red tilted her head, she took her bear by the arm then walked up to Reiji as he rinsed out the cup and tea pot. She could tell he was at war with himself due to his more serious than usual expression.

"Reiji-Kun? What's wrong?" she asks.

Reiji froze, and looked down at her. Then, he did what he was used to, he turned off the water, and took off his glasses.

Then he grabbed the small child, pulling her off her feet by the front of her shirt and slamming her against the wall.

Red dropped her bear, and yelped as the wind got knocked out of her lungs. Then she was scared, terrified, of the cruel look in Reiji's eyes. But she didn't see the saddness he was hiding.

"How did a small, helpless girl like you, manage to suddenly appear and change everything in only a short few days?" he asks, harshly gripping tighter on to her shirt.

But the thing was, he didn't want to do it, he was forcing himself to hurt her because that was just what he was used to. But he was also taking out all of his confusion and frustration on her.

"R-reiji-kun." she managed to say.

"Shut up!" Reiji snapped, "Why aren't you scared of any of us?!"

Red gently put her hands on his hand that held her against the wall, and sadly smiled, "Because, you never made me scared, you always made me happy. You made me feel safe." She says.

Reiji softened his grip for a moment, then it became tighter once more, "You don't even know what we are! How can we make you feel safe?!"

"Wh-what?" Red looked at him confused.

"We're not human you naïve, ignorant child!" Reiji yells, "But you're too trusting to realize it!"

Reiji forcefully moved red's hair aside before he did what he never intended to do..........

The young girl screamed...

In all parts of the mansion, the smell of blood hit the other 5 brothers like a brick wall. They all remembered the scent from when a certain girl first entered the mansion. Their eyes all widened, and they instantly went into panick mode, only one thing on their mind.........'Red'
