Red's new friends?

09:09, 8 September 2015

There were four girls. All up on a stage, bathed in a bright spotlight.

On the drums, a girl with golden eyes. Short black hair with hot pink stripes in it that complimented her hot pink jacket that showed her stomach, black jeans, tennis shoes, and black cap on her head.

Keyboard was a girl with dark abyss black eyes. Long pitch black hair, the darkest shade of black Red had ever seen. Pale ivory, almost white, skin that was complimented by and equally dark, black dress. Black flats, and black ribbon that wrapped around her arms.

Bass was a very bubbly and happy looking girl. With dark blue hair and purple eyes. She wore a black and red uniform that was topped off with shin high black combat boots.

Finally, the lead guitarist and lead singer. A girl with platinum blonde hair that stopped just below her bottom and murky blue eyes. She had on a white t-shirt with a black overcoat, black jeans, white tennis shoes, and blue headphones around her neck.

Red smiled from ear to ear and began to clap. The four girls looked to her, a little shocked, "What's a kid doing here?" The girl with pink striped hair asked.

A small tint of pink dusted Red's cheeks, "I'm sorry." She says, "I didn't know I wasn't allowed here."

The girl with blue hair jumped down from the stage and looked down at the small girl. She smiled, a bright, warm, and bubbly smile, "It's OK sweetie! My names Azula, what's yours?"

Red's smile returned, "My name is Red!"

"Awwww, aren't you just the cutest thing ever!" Azula gushes, "The blonde up there is Dream."

Dream gave an awkward wave towards the child, still utterly confused, "The girl on drums is Bethany."

The girl with striped hair gave a small smile and waved her drumstick, "And finally, on the keyboard is Adriana!"

The black haired girl merely glanced at Red before going back to her music sheets.

"What are you doing here Red?" Azula asks.

"I heard your song so I followed the music."

"Why are you at the high school?"

"Onii-chan!" Red exclaimed happily.

"Your brother?" Azula questions.

Dream muttered to herself confused, "But she smells human."

Red giggled and twirled around on her toes, her blue and white plaid shirt floating around her, "Will you play another song please?" She asks.

"Sure! We were gonna play one more song anyway! Right girls?" Azula looks to her band members with a happy face.

Dream was inspecting her nails, Bethany was reading, and Adriana was writing notes on her music sheets. Azula's face dropped and anime tears poured down her cheeks, "Come on guys!"

"Let's just hurry up, We've got class in 10 minutes." Bethany says, putting her book down.

"Yay!" Red says, excited.

"My turn to get the mic!" Azula climbs back up on stage and grabs the mic from Dream.

Dream grabbed Azula's guitar and Adriana grabbed the bass, Red sat on one of the low bleachers with her head resting on her hands, eager to listen to her new friend's music.

I said I wanna be healthy, but I turn up the noise, The IV drips a steady stream of poison!

Azula's voice boomed through the speakers so loud, that Red didn't know what to make of it till she found the melody.

I think I'm just in love with the feeling, I break my bones so I can feel them healing! Crazy's, I believe the medical terms, where we wanna recover, but we don't wanna learn, keep breaking what's been fixed a thousand times. And give me some more of that iodine!

The music pounded in Red's ears and echoed in her head, and as she listened intently she found the song expressing anger and almost.... Sad.

I can't make reality connect! I push till I have nothing left, so if we want to wake up, why we still singing these lullabies? I'll run in circles 'til I crash, one day these steps will be my last So if we want to wake up why we still singing these lullabies?

I say I wanna be happy but I quickly forgetWhen I sabotage all the good I've got leftDepression's like a big fur coatIt's made of dead things but it keeps me warm

Crazy's, I believe the medical terms, where we wanna recover, but we don't wanna learn, keep breaking what's been fixed a thousand times. And give me some more of that iodine!

I can't make reality connect! I push till I have nothing left, so if we want to wake up, why we still singing these lullabies? I'll run in circles 'til I crash, one day these steps will be my last So if we want to wake up why we still singing these lullabies?

I don't like pain but I bring it to lifeI don't like scars but I'm good with a knifeI don't like tears but I'm starting to cry when I realize I'm destroying my lifeI do this to myself, I do this to myselfStop blaming someone else, we do this to ourselves

I can't make reality connect! I push till I have nothing left, so if we want to wake up, why we still singing these lullabies? I'll run in circles 'til I crash, one day these steps will be my last So if we want to wake up why we still singing these lullabies?

So if we want to wake up, why we still singing these, why we still singing these lullabies?

The song ended, the girls looked to Red, Red sat in the same place she was before. Her face was unreadable, but it almost looked like she was questioning something while at the same time, fascinated.

"Red? You OK?" Dream asked the young girl.

"Angry." Red simply said.

The girls looked a bit surprised, Red looked directly at Azula, "The way you sang... I loved the song but... You sounded angry, so angry but also....... So, so sad."

Azula's eyes widened in utter shock, "Why are you so sad Azula? Why are you so angry?"

Azula and her band just starred, and starred, in silent shock. Red was indeed human, they were positive of that, but she was the most extraordinary human they had ever met.

Bethany, set her drumsticks down and stood up, "Hey! We got to get to class." She says.

Bethany stood up and jumped off the stage, "Beth what happened to me?" Red asks bluntly.

Beth glanced at her, "What do you mean-?"

"You know something, you all do but you're not telling me."

One glance at the girl and they knew something was up, Red's eyes had gone wide and glazed over, her face was becoming deathly pale, and she was almost trembling.

"Red?" Adriana spoke, for the first time, a bit concerned for the child.

"You never asked, what happened to my arm, not even I know. You know do,t you but you won't say, why not, why won't you tell me about the man covered in shadows?" red's voice was almost frantic.

"Man.... Cover in shadows?" Bethany nearly gagged.

And that's when they all noticed the bright red handprint on her arm, they hadn't seen it before because her red cloak had concealed it.

"What's happening to me?" Red trembled, she lept from her seat and ran out the door.

"Red!" Azula yells.

Red didn't look back, she ran, repeating the words in head that refused to leave.

Come little children, I'll take thee away,  into a land of enchantment. Come little children, the times come to play, here in my garden of shadows~
