Attack on Titan: I want to see the World Beyond the Walls - Part 2

In two days we will be going Outside the Walls once again-- simply to lower the numbers of the Titans. Hanji kept asking some of the higher ups if they could at least capture one Titan alive for research sake, but nobody listened to her. It was a risky job. Or maybe they just didn't like the idea of bringing a man-eating giant inside of the Walls? Probably...

I have been looking around in the City for Armin. And so far I couldn't find him. The only thing I wanted to do right now was look for him-- I wanted to talk with him or simply just be by his side.

I kept looking and looking and I just couldn't find him. A soldier noticed how It seemed I was working up a sweat, trying to find a certain someone.

He asked Me what or who I was looking for, and I explained I was looking for a friend, Armin Arlert.

This had to be one of the luckiest things that have happened to Me all day. He told Me he was on top on the Walls with the Stationary Guard.

That was when I began to run as if the Titans just broke through the Wall, and I began to head to where Armin was-- or at least if the guy wasn't lying, that's where he should be.

I finally made it to the very top of the Wall, I looked behind Me to see a scenery of the entire city. It was so big and vast.....so this is a view of what humanity looks like, caged as cattle. It was just as Armin once said.....

It's only a matter of time till they break through the walls once again, and strike back.

I searched around to see if I'd spot Armin. Hanns, a good pal of Eren, Mikasa, and Armin had noticed Me and approached Me.

"Hey, Kiya! What brings you up here?" he asked Me with a greeting. He likes nicknaming me Kiya for some strange reason. But I was fine with it.

"By any chance....is Armin up here?" I huffed and puffed, nearly out of breath.

"Have you been looking around the City for him this whole time? Here, let Me fetch you some water." Hans approached a cooler box and opened it up to reveal countless water bottles filled with cool water.

Hans closed up the lid after taking one out and handed it to Me.

"Here you go. You've must've worked up a sweat." Hanns was able to notice just from looking at Me, how hard I've been trying to find Armin. It seems like Hanns knows where Armin is...

I suddenly began to feel a bit shy and nervous. How would Armin react if he found out I've been working this hard just to find him? And especially when it's not really for a important reason-- but if I had an important reason, it would be to find him so we could chat or just be near each other.

I slowly began to catch back most of My breath.

"So....is Armin up here?" I asked him.

"Yep, he sure is. Sitting right over there." He pointed over to Armin who was sitting at the very edge of the wall with his legs hanging off. He was staring out at the horizon-- beyond the Walls.

A big grin curled itself upon My face as quickly as I spotted him. I quickly hurried up to him.

"Armin!" I smiled as My heart began to rapidly beat in excitement.

Upon Armin hearing My voice, his head quickly turned around to see My face.

"K-Kiyomi?!" he worn a look of surprise.

"Kiyomi, what are you doing up here?" he asked Me in curiosity-- not expecting to see Me up here.

This was when I began to stutter and My shyness and nervousness along with my timid nature, began to get the best of Me.

"I-I um, was.....sorta looking for you." I gave him a sheepish smile.

"Was there something you needed to tell Me?" be began to come to the conclusion that there was something important that I had to tell him.

"N-Not really....."

We both became silent. But I wasn't yet done speaking. I wanted him to hear the reasoning as to why I came up here to find him.

"I sorta just.....wanted to see you." I gave him another sheepish smile. Why was this so hard to say?

"Y-You just wanted to see Me...?" Armin had a surprised look with a look of disbelief. He could tell there was sweat on My face from doing some kind of busy work.....and he began to realize that the sweat was from looking for him.

"Yeah." I suddenly felt My face alter from his along with My eyes, as a blush slowly made an appearance on My face.

How would he react?

Ok?

Happy?

Confused?

Upset?

Uncomfortable?

Weird?

What?

I awaited an answer and I felt as if My eyes would suddenly squint close from awaiting his reply for so long. But then....

"So....you just wanted to see Me?" he repeated the question.

I felt My blush redden and My heart began to skip beats and pound quicker than it should.

"Y-Yeah." I answered without giving him so much of a glance. Why did I have to be so shy and nervous about this? It wasn't like I was confessing My feelings to him or anything....

Because I was altering eye contact from him, I failed to notice his cheeks slowly getting a faint color of blush upon his cheeks.

"T-That....that kinda makes Me feel good that you just wanted to check on Me....t-thanks Kiyomi." He stuttered shyly.

I slowly tilted My head up and glanced back into his face to see him looking directly at Me. His eyes gleamed and I noticed the light coloring of pink on his cheeks. Was he blushing...?

But we both found ourselves altering our gazes upon seeing the horizon before us. It was a green vast land along with some growing trees with the wide blue sky that was painted many different shades of colors.

Light blues, Sky blues, and grey. But soon enough the colors of blues changed into yellows, oranges and reds as the sun began to collide towards the edge of the earth.

My face suddenly reddened at the thought that I was watching the sunset with Armin. I tried to get that thought out of My mind, but it just couldn't disappear.

"In two days......weir going to be going Outside the Walls again." Armin's tone sounded a bit serious this time.

"Yeah."

.....

My eyes glanced over at Armin to see him still looking out at the horizon a bit intensely and he seemed to have a worried expression upon his face.

I couldn't believe I was about to do this....but I took my hand into his-- causing Myself to look just as red in the face as the sunset.

That was when I had to ignore all of My nervous, shy or girly feelings and I had to speak words of reassurance to him.

"Don't worry Armin-- we'll make it back alive like we always do; I promise."

Armin was silent for a moment until he finally began to return a smile.

"Alright. Both of us will come back home together in one piece. It's a promise."

That was when we both made each other a promise-- no matter what would happen, we both would return to the Walls together.
