Attack on Titan: Don't Shoot the baby/ Part 1
23:01, 15 August 2018It was another day for the 1o4th cadets and everyone was on some kind of an assignment mission set for everyone to journey outside the camp and survive until they reach to their destination or whatever.
Armin was given a notebook and a pencil to take notes during the journey and if anybody was misbehaving or anything, he was told to make sure to write that down as well.
During this time while I was riding on horseback, I would be writing in my own notebook. Its the notebook I keep on me all the time and everyday I make sure to put in an entry of everything that had happened to me throughout the day including what occurs during my training.
I definitely made sure to include how Eren and Jean were bickering and fighting what seemed none-stop. It was beginning to become so annoying, I had to hand write an two-to-three page rant between the two and add my own personal thoughts over how annoying and irritating it was.
Gosh, can’t they get along even for a mere minute?
“You know Kiyomi, I'm beginning to think that instead, the instructor should have invested writing down everything that occurs on our trip to you instead of Me. Your always writing without end in your notebook whenever you get the chance.” Armin spoke to me as his horse began riding besides mine.
I shyly gave him a smile in return.
I wasn’t very sure how to respond to that. He was too sweet.
“But...i'm sure your a good writer too, Armin.” I complimented, despite never having read any kind of writings he’s done before.
He thanked me as he bashfully placed a hand behind his neck and he continued to press on how good I was at writing to the point, compared to him, I was far better at it.
It made me really happy getting so many praises and compliments from him.
But i'm sure he’s pretty good at writing too.
“Um...Armin, is it ok if I see what you’ve written during our trip so far…? I can let you read mine.” I offered.
“Sure! I’d love to read what you've written so far!” Armin agreed with a smile before we traded notebooks.
I suddenly got all excited and nervous and began to worry slightly and think back over what exactly I wrote anyways.
I sometimes pour too much of my inner thoughts or feelings inside my notebooks. But if anything, I just hope if I written anything about Armin, it doesn't include my secrete feelings for him…
We train in the 1o4th for around three or four years, so we’ve known each other for a while now. Weir on our final year and soon we will eventually take our final test and exams and graduate and the top ten will be announced.
Back in Wall Maria, my home, I lost everything on what seemed to be another ordinary day.
An Colossal Titan appeared. It was a skinless Titan whom was able to peek its head over a 50 meter high wall.
It kicked a hole into the wall and the broken up pieces to the wall crushed many people...even my beloved parents. I don’t know what happened to my grandparents. They were either crushed by the broken up parts of the wall or probably eaten by a titan. I’ve hated and loathed the Titans since that day.
I loved my family more than anything in the world, and those monsters took them from me. The only family other than my dead mom, dad, grandma and grandpa I have left who is actually alive is my Sister.
She tried talking me out of joining the scouts because after what happened inside wall Maria, she wanted us to find some part-time jobs so we could not only feed ourselves well during the time, but also so we could one day afford a house and once again live a peaceful life without being in an orphanage or being out on the streets.
That kind of life could have been nice. But I can’t get the image of the Colossal Titan peeking down at us above the 5o meter high walls out of my head...and I couldn't get the image of the Armored Titan’s glowing red eyes out of my brain as well.
The Armored titan appeared later on and broke through the Gate.
I hated both of them along with the rest of the Titans….they stole away my home...my family...everything! I can’t forgive them. They’ve caused me and many others way too much pain. They've stolen too much from us. They must be stopped. I don’t want to live inside Wall Rose...I want my life in Wall Maria back.
I know that things will never be how they used to. If we take back our home Wall Maria, my parents won’t be at our house. They won’t be there. but….I want my home back. Perhaps I can’t stay and live there, but I want to take it back. And the Titans must be stopped and destroyed.
That day a few years back was a warning….humanity won’t be safe inside these walls forever.
Like Eren said, Humanity didn’t start this fight, but we will be the ones who finish it.
Hiding behind these walls won’t accomplish anything. We need to fight. We need to take back the freedom that was stolen from us.
I want to be a part of that.
But I’m worried.
After awhile of me continuing to be stubborn over this ideal and signed up to become part of the 104th training corps, My sister, wanted to join as well.
I told her that I didn’t want to drag her with me and this was my own decision and I don’t want her getting hurt or worst.
I’ve already lost my parents and grandparents. losing her too, would destroy me.
But she said that it was ok and no matter what that we will always stick together because weir sisters.
“Besides, I need to look after you. After all, I am your older sister.”
“By One second!!” I reminded her.
We were basically the same age! Perhaps I was still a few seconds off, but still- it was close!
She giggled in return.
And now here we are- training in the 104th to become soldiers.
My sister plans to join the Garrison and she told me that I would become one too, and she won’t let me join the scouts.
She was definitely not letting her sister join a suicidal branch.
So for now i'm sorta just pretending that i'm thinking about joining the Garrison at the moment instead of being honest that im wanting to join the scouts.
“Kiyomi? You ok? Your dozing off into space.” A voice called out to me.
I snapped out of it and saw Armin looking towards me with concern in his eyes.
“Are you alright?”
“O-Oh yeah...sorry Armin. I'm just a little tired and got lost in thought.”
After that I began to read Armin’s notes in his sketchbook. I smiled and blushed as I did so.
Reading this was basically like reading Armin’s inner thoughts...which it exactly was, but...the thought just got me excited.
Well….cause I sorta have a crush on him and who knows, reading this might help me know him possibly better…?
Don’t kill me.
