Attack on Titan x The Hunchback of Notre Dame: Out there/ Part 5

Images were placed into his mind. He saw the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Quasimodo there. He was outside of the Bell tower, standing alongside the people of the city, and smiles were on both his and everyone else's faces.

The people lifted Quasimodo into the air and he seemed to be accepted. Nobody looked at him as if he was some kind of an monster. They treated him as if he was one of them.

It was an image that appeared...but then disappeared.

“_____!!

“____in!”

“Armin!!”

Armin woke up and found his vision blurred. He blinked a few times and eventually his vision cleared.

Before him was Eren and Mikasa.

“Yo buddy! Your finally awake. Me and Mikasa were worried. You were asleep for a full day.”

“H-huh?”

“We were on an expedition outside the wall and we found you laying on the ground towards the end. We were lucky to find you and we brought you back. It looked like you fell of your horse, your forehead had a little bit of blood on it. But don’t worry- your horse is alright, we found her and she's ok. But...it sure did surprise us that you stayed asleep for a full day.”

“I was asleep….for that long?”

“Yeah.”

….

So...everything back at Notre Dame that happened was all a dream? But it felt so real…

“Hey, Armin! Snap out of it! Time for you to wake up! Everyone has been worried, let's go see them and get you a bite to eat at the Mess hall.”

With that Armin left the infirmary to go outside the Eren and Mikasa. He was then greeted by the rest of his friends from the 104th who were relieved to see he was alright.

Armin’s gaze eventually left out towards the sky.

Out there...did that hunchback from Notre Dame really manage to go outside and to be a part of the people instead of watching them from above?

Out there, was he ever accepted for who he was, not getting treated like he was some monster?

The images that appeared before he awoken….it seemed like all those things came to be.

Perhaps the Hunchbacks dream did come true.

But as far as his and Eren’s dream...will they ever be able to go outside without living in fear of the Titans? Will they ever be able to see the Ocean and to explore the world?

Armin was finally back home. He was where Eren and Mikasa were. He was finally reunited with his family. But now its the time for them to make their own dreams come true.

They will defeat the enemy and one day see the Ocean together and discover more of what lies beyond the walls….the would see what else lied out there.
