Chapter fifteen: Honesty is the best policy

It was like any normal start to the morning, the birds chirped outside whilst the sun beamed through the windows. I had showered and gotten myself ready for the day, I wore some black ripped skinny jeans and an oversized black hoodie. My hair was then straightened and I had applied black liner on my waterline.

Walking downstairs I grabbed an apple and sat on the couch, I hadn't seen Evan this morning which was strange as normally he would be the one scolding me for taking too long to get ready.

"Hey- where is Evan?" I asked Julie

"Ah he is being all weird this morning. He won't come out of his room" she admitted with a sigh "I don't think he even slept because I heard him listening to music at three in the morning"

Furrowing my eyebrows I stood from the couch "did you want me to go talk with him?"

Julie placed a hand on my shoulder "I think you're the only person he would want to talk to"

Dylan was poorly with the flu so I wouldn't put it past Evan if he was feeling unwell; but it was still unlike him. The past couple of weeks it seemed like he was becoming more and more introverted. Though that's Aquarius's for you.

After we had those drinks a few days ago round Henry's house Evan has been incredibly distant to the point if I even breathed a word near him he would hurry away. This wasn't me and Evan- and I felt to blame.

Knocking on his door I waited for a response but never got one so I instead walked in like I hadn't a care in the world. "Evan what is wrong?"

Evan buried himself deeper into his duvet and ignored me; of course.

"Come on, don't act like a child" I groaned "you can't hide away from me forever"

I walked over to his bed and sat down on the edge "please talk to me. Honesty is the best policy"

Evan took a loud breath in before sitting up, his eyes had dark circles around them whilst his hair was messily stuck up in multiple places. "I broke up with Aubrey"

Pulling Evan into a hug I rubbed his hair comfortingly "I'm so sorry Evan, I knew how much you liked her-

Evan pushed me off him "I don't care that we broke up" he admitted coldly which made me confused.

"Are you that stupid?" Evan said with a soft laugh "have you really not got any idea why I would be so upset ?"

I shook my head "talk to me, just talk to me and I will try and help you-

Evan grabbed my face and looked between my eyes and my lips which made my whole body tense like fire was running under my skin.

"You can help me by..."

Gulping I bit on my lower lip, not knowing what Evan wanted from me. Though a thought lingered- did Evan want to kiss me?

"You can help me by fucking kissing me" Evan said softly, his words sending shivers running down my spine and through my legs.

Evan's thumb brushed past my bottom lip as he parted my lips gently which made me flush "stop biting your lip"

Daringly I looked into his eyes but I suddenly wish I hadn't; his look was intoxicating and it drew me in like an addiction. My thighs then instantly squeezed together due to the building arousal.

"Henry isn't good for you. He is nowhere near the sort of man you need you're deluded by even thinking so. You and I are end game, we always have been"

Tears pricked at my eyes from his words, was he admitting his feelings for me ? Did Evan truly have feelings for me this whole time but I was too blinded to see.

"T-then why Aubrey?" I choked with a saddened voice.

"Because I wanted you to desire me" Evan stated truthfully "you're the sort of girl who wouldn't like a guy like me.. I thought maybe getting with her would make you want me"

I smiled and grabbed his hands, lacing my fingers with his. "You call me deluded but you thought I wouldn't want you?"

"Evan- I've always wanted you"

Relief flooded through me as I spoke- the same relieved expression now plastered over Evan's face.

I so desperately wanted to jump into his arms but I somehow felt disrespectful because of Henry. I needed to talk with him first, it was only right.

"Evan I need to talk with Henry" I breathed shakily "he deserves to know before I do anything-

Before I could finish talking Evan pushed me on my back and towered over me, his breath running across my neck and to my lips which made my heart increase in speed. "I know you don't love him... I know you feel the same way about me"

"Evan I-

Evan crashed his soft, plump lips onto mine with utter passion that made me squirm. Those lips of his instantly melted away all my worries as I kissed him back in a heated and fiery kiss that burned through my entire soul.

Evan grabbed ahold of the back of my neck to push me closer to his lips, his hands then grabbed my hips and pulled me on top of him so I was now straddling. Throughout all of this the kiss never broke apart- our lips were hungrily attacking one another and I almost felt like we were going too far.

After what felt like an eternity Evan pulled away breathlessly and pressed his forehead on mine "I don't care what Henry has to say because to me you're mine"

I blushed and stroked his cheek "You're a total idiot for hiding this from me"

Evan chuckled heartily "no you're an idiot for dating Henry when you know me better than anyone"

"You're right, I know you better than anyone ever could" I said in agreement
