Chapter 38
11:23, 14 May 2023Hana's POV
I was in a daze for a while after Vlad attacked me, not really noticing what was going on around me. I drifted between consciousness and unconsciousness. I had no way of telling how long I had been out for, but when I finally managed to crank my eyes open I knew it had been a while. I was in a different room then the one I was inprisoned in when I got here. This room was much more spacious with big windows to one side. The bed I was laying in was much bigger and more comfortable than the one I had been sleeping in for the past few days, or had more than on day gone by? It was hard to tell. It seemed to be dusk outside, so either it had almost been 24 hours since the attack or much more.
I winced as I tried sitting up, my neck was bandaged, covering the bite marks that Vlad no doubt had left behind.
I bit through the pain and stood up, I had no time to waste. I had too many things to do now. I finally found one of the monsters that killed my friends, it was time they payed the price. I walked slowly to the closest door, assuming it was the way out. But it instead led to a big bathroom. I closed the door again, making my way instead to the other door.
This time when I opened it I was met by someones back. I inhaled sharply in suprise. Chess turned around at the sound and looked me up and down.
"Oh so you are finally awake. Lord Crowley will be pleased to hear that." She said smoothly. She keept looking at me as if I was nothing more than an insect to her but I didn't care what she thought of me.
"How long have I been out for?" I asked her. I would much rather speak to Crowley, but Chess is the best thing I have right now. Unlike Vlad, she wouldn't dare to touch me.
She seemed displeased at being asked a question but she answered nontheless.
"You've been out for almost two days." She said curtly before walking towards me, forcing me to step back into the bedroom so as not to collide with her.
"Stay here while I get Lord Crowley and don't go anywhere." She instructs me as if she's speaking to a child she has to babysit.
She closes the door in my face and I'm once again alone. I walk to the windows of the room and look out. Still on the fourth floor. But I wasn't that much interested by that. I checked the windows and to my relief I found that the windows in this room could in fact be opened. The more escapre routes the better.
Before being able to think more about this discovery the door to the bedroom swung open and in walked Crowley. His ruby red eyes landed on me imidiatly and in a few large strides he was in front of me. Before I could open my mouth to ask him about Vlad he ingulfed me in a hug. I was so stunned by the sudden action I lost my trail of thoughts for a moment.
A tingling feeling krept up my body and I noticed he wasn't wearing his gloves. His bare hands were touching my bare arms. I was only wearing my blouse which I wore under my uniform, the arms of which was rather short, exposing the skin that Crowley now was touching.
It felt good to be touched by him. It gave a calming and reasuring feeling that I desperatly seemed to crave at the moment.
He let go of me and looked me up and down before speaking.
"You seem well. How are you feeling?" he asks me carefully.
"As well as can be expected. My neck still hurts but otherwise I feel fine" I answer him honestly.
He opens his mouth, wanting to say more but this time I beat him to it.
"Where is the vampire who attacked me?" I asked getting straight to the point. I had to know if Crowley had let him live like he promised.
His eyes darkened sliglty but he answered.
"As promised, he is yours for the taking. I may have had some fun with him while you were asleep, but he is alive and healing quickly as we speak." he replies darkly.
I nod, satisfied with the answer.
"I remember you saying you knew where the others were?" I continue hopefully. If all who were involved in the murders were here under Crowley's mercy I could finally have my vengeance. My friends could finally have their peace.
Crowley nodded. He took my hand, the comforting sensation returning to me. I let him hold my hand and lead me out of the room, Chess was nowhere in sight when we entered the halway.
"I do need for you to confirm it is them. They themselves do not seem to have a specific memory of your squad, likely because they have killed many under the years." He tells me, leading me down a flight of stairs.
I held his hand tighter. I remember my plan to seduce Crowley to let me see Guren again, but that was now not my priority anymore, maybe the plan would be entirely unecesary. Crowley had saved me, taken care of me and now he is helping me get my vengeance without batting an eye. They were his kind, also nobles like him, yet he promised me I could do with them whatever I wanted. He was putting me before his own kind and the realisation of that fact concerned me.
He would never let me leave with Guren even if he held a dagger to my throat.
I was now fully convinced that Crowley Eusford would find a way to save me from Guren and the blade, and he would kill the colonel afterwards. The only way Guren and I would walk out of here alive would be if I killed Crowley. My heart cleched when that thought came to mind. I wasn't sure anymore I could do it even if the opportunity arose, but the opportunity would come, and soon.
Crowley would have to give me a special weapon to kill the vampires. I could use it to kill him aswell.
