Hana's POV
It had been a while since Crowley left my room. I didn't know if I had been relieved or disappointed that he rejected my offer to stay the night. A bit of both maybe. But knowing that he promised to come by later tonight has kept me wide awake and alert. I decided to hide the dagger in the bathroom instead, so if Crowley were to in fact do anything with me in bed he wouldn't find the dagger under my pillow.
Gosh what am I thinking! I'm literally preparing myself to sleep with a vampire!
A wave of shame washes over me. All my fellow soldiers would spit on me for sleeping with a vampire, and even worse, I would probably enjoy it sleeping with Crowley, which is why the shame is that much worse. No, I could not allow this visit to go that far, not yet. If Crowley does come tonight I will not allow him to touch me, not yet at least.
The sound of my bedroom door creaking open slowly caught my attention. I quickly closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep. Maybe Crowley would not touch me if I was asleep and I could avoid the whole awkward interaction altogether.
Slow and calculated steps began creeping closer to my bed. A rush of adrenaline was coursing through my body, my brain screaming at me to fight or flight the intruder in the room. But it was only Crowley and I knew deep down that he would not hurt me which made my bodies reaction to him entering my room strange. I had to focus all my might at keeping my breathing even and pretend to still be asleep, but my heart was hammering in my chest so loud he can probably hear it.
The heavy footsteps stopped at the foot of the bed and a long silence fell over the room.
What is he doing?
I was about to open my eyes to peek at him, but the bed suddenly dipped and a heavy weight was sitting on the end of my bed.
It became harder and harder to pretend like I'm sleeping with Crowley so close to me. I was glad it was dark in the room because I could feel the heat rushing up my cheeks.
To my surprise the weight of his body started scrawling on his hands and knees over my lying form all the way up to my face. From what I could sense he was literally hovering over me now, caging me in between his legs and arms. His breath fanned my face and I felt like I was about to combust.
"I know that you are not asleep." A deep voice whispered in my ear.
I inhaled deeply, ready to let out a blood curling scream but a hand quickly covered my mouth.
That voice did not belong to Crowley. It was a voice that has been hunting my nightmares for a long time. One I did not wish to hear hovering above me in the middle of the night when I was entirely weaponless. My eyes shot open in pure panic. Hovering above me, was none other than one of the nobles that killed my entire squad.
I did what everyone would have done in my situation. I struggled. I pushed and kicked as best as I could at the noble's hard body. I tried to free my mouth from his hand to scream for help, to scream for Crowley to save me, heck I would even scream for Chess or Horn if it meant my survival.
But as imagined the vampire didn't budge a inch and was smiling down at me predatorily. Instead he sat down on my thighs, making it impossible for me to move my legs. He then, with the other hand, caught both my hands in his own and held them above my head. I was entirely to his submission, I couldn't move an inch. All my hard training, all my plans for vengeance, and now that I finally get eye to eye with one of the worst vampires on this planet I am entirely defenseless. I silently cursed myself for my stupidity, for hiding away the dagger in another room, for not being more alert and trusting my instincts, for thinking Crowley would keep me safe as he promised. Vampires are not supposed to be trusted.
"So you are Crowley's little pet huh? You don't seem so special to me." He says, looking slightly confused. Tears were streaming down my face, I was crying, and hard. Out of desperation and fear, but also anger. So much anger.
"Maybe you taste better than you look." He comments and leans down to my face. With the hand that is keeping me from speaking, he tilts my head to the side, giving him a clear path to my exposed neck. I tried to struggle again, I tried to scream, but nothing happened except some muffled noises that not even the vampires would hear outside this room. The noble opened his mouth wide, showing off his fangs. I braced myself.
I would not die. I would not die, not like this. If I die tonight Lieutenant colonel Guren will soon die as well by the hands of the vampires, my friends will never know what happened to me, and I will never have my vengeance for my old friends.
The needle like fangs pierced my skin and I felt the vampire start drinking my blood. It hurt, badly. I've only ever been bitten by Crowley, and his bite felt nothing like this. I cried harder. After a moment he released himself from me. Sitting up straight again. He looks down at me, seeming thoughtful. A stream of my blood was trickling down the side of his mouth.
"I don't understand. You neither look nor taste very special, so what is it that has caught the thirteenth progenitor's interest in you?" He asked but didn't release his grip on me so I couldn't answer him even if I wanted to.
"I suppose it doesn't really matter, I'll gift him some better livestock in return for sucking you dry. I've been starving for days now and our sweet host was not even offering us anything to drink, so I guess I have to take matters into my own hands." He continued and bend back down again, puncturing a new part of my neck with his fangs. He was going to drain my body of blood, and I couldn't do anything about it.
