Chapter 32

Hana's POV

Many hours had passed before I finally heard the lock on my door click, and the door opened. Ever since Chess had left me in here I had not been able to do anything except for staring at the ceiling. Without Crowley, imprisonment was terrible boring I realized.

I looked up to see Crowley standing in the door opening, a bowl in hand together with a spoon."I got you some food, I thought you might be hungry." He says and hands them to me.

I almost gag at seeing the cold soup again but restrain myself from showing any emotion. I needed Crowley on my good side so I could ask him for another meeting with the lieutenant colonel. I smile at Crowley tentative and thanked him.

His eyes seem to light up and he gives me a broad smile in return. "Just call me if you need anything more, I'll hear you." He says and starts to turn around to head out the room.

"Wait!" I shoot up from the bed where I had been sitting. Crowley turns around at me confused."I-uh I was wondering if you might give me some company while I finish eating." I say, a bit uncertain of how to get him to like me.

I knew he already liked me, that much was obvious because of the bond, but he didn't fully trust me. I needed to gain his trust for him to allow me more freedom. My heart ached a bit at the thought of using him but the feeling soon disappeared when I remembered I'm doing it for the lieutenant colonel and my own freedom.

Crowley's smile grows and nods eagerly. "Sure." I sit back down on the bed and motion for him to sit beside me, making sure to keep some distance between us still. He sits down and starts looking around the room, seeming to lose himself in thoughts.

I take a spoon full of the soup before finally asking him."What are you thinking about?" I question him.I turns to look down at me. He stares at me for a moment before sighing and replying.

"I've just got a lot on my mind at the moment."

I look at him, hoping for him to elaborate but he doesn't, so I ask him."I heard from Chess you got guests" I say, lifting another spoon full of cold soup to my mouth. I try not to sound too interested in these guests in fear of him becoming suspicious. In reality I am trying to get as much information as possible about the new variables.Crowley would not allow me to get hurt because I'm his mate and he is in charge of the vampires here. But would the newcomers care if Guren held a knife to my throat? Would they listen to Crowley or are they higher ups?

He hummed for a moment as if thinking about his words carefully before he said,"That's correct. They'll be here for a while, which is why you need to stay in this room for the next couple of days."

Before I could reply he hastily stood up and walked over to the door."I'll check in on you later little mouse." He says waving casually over his shoulder before exiting the room.

He didn't lock it like Chess did, but it was unnecessary. With new vampires in the building I wasn't so certain I even wanted to leave my room anymore.I quickly finished my soup and started constructing a plan.

How could I make him trust me more? I didn't have time to slowly build a bond with him. I could seduce him maybe? Convince him this soulmate bond is working. But how could I do that? Kiss him maybe?

My cheeks warmed up at the thought of kissing Crowley. "Focus Hana, this isn't the time to act like a school girl with a crush". I murmur angrily at myself.

To kiss him would make it too suspicious if I did it out of the blue. I had to draw him near me somehow. After another 30 minutes on pondering on it I came to the conclusion that I wouldn't get any closer to Crowley if I just sat here in my room while he was in his office, so I left the bed and headed down the hall to his office. I was still a couple of steps away when the door to his office flung open and Crowley looked directly at me.

"What is it? Has something happened?" He asks immediately, he sounded worried.I shook my head, keeping my hands behind my back to prevent myself from fidgeting.

I can't believe I'm trying to seduce my captor, and a vampire at that. My friends would be ashamed of me.

"I got bored and was hoping for some company?" I ask him nicely. He looks at me a bit confused but then shrugs. He opens the door further to lead me inside.

"I have to warn you though, I plan on sitting in the office chair this time because I actually have to get things done now that my guests are here." He says and plops down in the comfy chair."Sure no problem." I reply and sit down in the uncomfortable chair.

He starts with reading through the documents in his hand, his blood red eyes quickly scanning the content of the pages before writing something down and go on the the next document. I stare at him intensely, hoping the solution to my problem will appear somehow out of itself.

This was frustrating. Now when I needed his attention he was the one not giving it to me. How am I supposed to seduce him now that his focus is entirely on those guests? Maybe I could cut myself again?

I look down at the papers scattering his desk. No, that wouldn't do me any good. Then how? Maybe 20 minutes or so had gone by with us in total silence. Crowley reading his papers and me just sitting there and thinking of all the ways I could proceed from here on.

"Can you be quiet?" Crowley's smooth voice danced though the air. I jumped slightly and looked at him confused."I wasn't saying anything." I reply, starting to get uncertain of myself if I maybe had been speaking my mind out loud."Well stop thinking so loud then." He replied, finally putting down the documents to look at me.

Now was my chance, I had his attention.
