Chapter 31

Crowley's POV

I wasn't happy letting Hana meet that male human, but a promise was a promise and the information he provided might be useful if confirmed to be true.

I had an uneasy feeling the moment I ordered Horn to escort my little mouse to him. For sure they would try to come up with some plan for escape but without their cursed weapons they wouldn't come very far, which is why I had allowed the meeting to take place from the start.

My attention was drawn back to reality the moment the doors of the main entrance openend and in walked our new guests. Noblemen Vlad and Ivon walked in together with their soldiers, who seemed to have had a tough journey.

"Welcome gentlemen, hope your travels to my establishment went well" I say in an easy voice. I didn't know Vlad and Ivon that well because they were of a lower rank than me and I don't bother interacting with lower life forms, but they seemed decent enough.

"Lord Crowley, thank you for allowing us to rest here. It has been horrible out there. The livestock is fighting us every part of the way. Someone must have given them our locations because more than just the two of us were attacked at the same time." Vlad informed, bowing slightly. Ivon stood with his arms crossed and didn't seem at all interested in the current interaction that was happening in front of him. He seems younger than Vlad, which probably explained his rude behavior to me. Younglings are so rude now a days.

"Hm, I see. Well I hope you guys can make yourself at home here. However, I do not want you or any of your men entering the west wing, it's my private quarters." I inform them. If they were to go there Hana's existence might be endangered so it would be best to just banish them front that whole area.Vlad nodded in understanding but Ivon looked at me with narrowed eyes. I smiled at him in return."For how long were you planning on staying?" I continue, trying to move from the subject of the west wing.

"We're not certain yet but we were thinking about staying until Ferid and his men arrive. We heard from a little bird you had captured some important human which he was interested in." Vlad tells me, looking at me curiously.

Damn, someone already informed them about the human lieutenant's presence here. Hopefully not that of my little mouse.

"Yes yes, I've captured one of the their lieutenants a few days ago and am interrogating him now. But I figured Ferid would like to speak to him himself as wel." I tell them honestly.Vlad nods again, he seemed like a chicken with the amount of bobbing his head he did.

"Horn, would you be so kind as to escort Vlad, Ivon and their men to their designated chambers. I have some business to attend to." I tell Horn, who had returned some time ago.She nods obediently before motioning for the men to follow her which they do without arguing.

I need to keep an eye on that Ivon guy, he seems the type to become a troublemaker. Now with nothing occupying my mind the dreadful feeling started to return. "Chess" I say.She walks forward and stands attentively in front of me. "Yes lord Crowley?"

"How long has the two humans been talking now?" I ask, having lost track of time."About 20 minutes my lord." She informs me.

I grit my teeth. "That would be enough time. Go and get Hana and return her to her chamber. See to it to avoid our guests while doing so. Oh and make sure to lock her in her room, I don't want her wandering about now that there are new people here." I instruct her. She bows and leaves to do my bidding.

I sigh. If I'm lucky I can keep Hana hidden from these vampires until Ferid arrives. Then he can take over the male livestock and I might be able to slip away with Hana.

I turn on my heel to head to my office, I still had some paper work I needed to finish. But when I turned around Ivon stood there, leaning against the open doorframe. His face was expressionless and his red eyes were staring daggers at me.

"You got a pet?" He asks simply.I mentally curse myself for not having sensed his presence earlier but now that the damage was done I had to roll with it.

I shrug, trying to look unbothered."I do, she is my personal livestock and I don't like sharing her." I tell him.

"I see." Ivon replies and without saying anything more he leaves. Leaving me standing in the entrance hall alone.

This was going to be a lot harder than I thought.
