Chapter 4

Hey guys and gals. The moment you all have been waiting for : Bilbo and Gandalf's first meeting. I know everyone was waiting for this. I was laughing as I wrote this mainly because Gandalf is literally a mood. I love him and not to mention Bilbo. That man is such a mess but its okay because we love him.  Now add the girls and you will literally be laughing for hours as I was. Anyway here you go. I hope you enjoy it. Now back to the book. That's why you're here.

Third Pov

It's been 6 months since the girls have been in Middle Earth and life could not be better. Kate and Bilbo's relationship had gotten more like father-daughter. He was making up for lost time but he even officially adopted Lilith and Renée. As they were all his daughters and he was happy that Katherine had them by her side.

It was a very lovely morning. Kate was sitting on the grass in front of the house, sketching something because she was bored and it was her off day. Lilith was reading a book next to Bilbo who was smoking his pipe. Renée was inside getting the muffins she made earlier for everyone. She came outside and gave them the muffins.

She then sat down next to Kate and watched her sketch. Bilbo blew a smoke ring and we didn't seem to notice a stranger walking this way. The smoke ring transformed into a butterfly and crashed into Bilbo, making him scrunch his nose while shaking his head and opening his eyes.

There stood Gandalf The Grey, the very person that the girls were waiting for.

"Good morning,"

Bilbo said, a little startled.

"What do you mean? Do you mean to wish me a good morning or do you mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not? Or, perhaps you mean to say that you feel good on this particular morning, or are you simply stating that this is a morning to be good on?"

Gandalf asked, looking at Bilbo with a weird look.

"All at once, I suppose."

He looked at Bilbo with a disapproving look while Bilbo looked bewildered. The girls just looked at him with amusement. They knew what was going to happen. Bilbo was confused so he asked

"I'm sorry, can we help you?"

The girls all stood up and Gandalf looked at them with confusion.

"That remains to be seen. I'm looking for someone to share an adventure."

The girls gasped with excitement while Bilbo's pipe dropped from his mouth.

"An Adventure? That sounds amazing! I would love to go on an adventure, travel around and see more of Middle Earth. I think these two can agree with me. Right girls?"

Lilith said, eyes sparkling with excitement and the other two just nodded. Gadlaf smiled and chuckled at the girls' excitement.

"An adventure? Now I don't imagine anyone west of Bree would have much interest in adventures. Nasty, disturbing, uncomfortable things. Make you late for dinner!"

Bilbo got up and made his way to the mailbox, grabbing some letters and envelopes. He looked at Gandalf with a quick look before saying good morning once more and walking up the stairs.

Renée's Pov

"To think that I should have lived to be good-morninged by Belladonna Took's son as if I were selling buttons at the door."

Bilbo turned around and looked at him shocked.

"I beg your pardon".

"You've changed, and not entirely for the better, Bilbo Baggins."

"I'm sorry, do I know you?"

"Well, you know my name, although you don't remember I belong to it. I'm Gandalf and Gandalf means... me!"

He finally realised who Gandalf was and looked at him with a smile.

"Not Gandalf, the wandering wizard, who made such excellent fireworks! Old Took used to have them on Midsummer's Eve! I had no idea you were still in business."

I snickered along with Lilith and Kate hit us on the back of our heads. I glared at her and rolled my eyes. She then walked to Bilbo and stood by his side with us following behind her.

"And where else should I be?"

"Well..."

I turned to Gandalf .

"Can we see these fireworks Bilbo is talking about? It sounds like so much fun."

Gandalf gave a hearty laugh and nodded.

"Please forgive this old man but I never got your names and how you know Mr. Baggins."

"Oh right, how rude of us. I'm Renée,"

I pointed at Lilith,

"That's Lily" and then I pointed at Katherine,

"And that's Katherine but you can just call her Kate. We came across Bagend and found Bilbo. We then found out that Kate is his daughter so naturally we decided to stay with him."

I smiled at him.

"Well it is a pleasure to meet you all."

"And you Mr Gandalf."

"Well, I'm pleased to find you remember something about me, even if it's only my fireworks. Well then, that's decided. It will be very good for you and most amusing for me. I shall inform the others."

Bilbo grows pale with shock. He retreats further towards his house. We just look at him with worry.

"Inform the who? What? No, no, no! We do not want any adventures here, thank you! Not today! I suggest you try somewhere over the hill or across the water! Good morning!"

In frustration, Bilbo stormed into the house and Kate ran after him.

"I'm so sorry about that Mr Gandalf. I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it. He was probably just very shocked."

I tried to explain. Gandalf just smiled at me and I knew that he wasn't mad. Lilith and I nodded at him before heading back inside.

We found Kate trying to calm Bilbo down. We sighed and watched Bilbo begin to finally calm down. Suddenly, we hear a mysterious scraping noise on the door. Bilbo rushes to his window. He peers outside and sees nothing but blue sky.

Out of nowhere, Gandalf's eye is staring back at us through the glass. Bilbo jumps back in fright, hiding out of sight and we just jump a little. Gandalf lingers outside the window, before turning and leaving. Bilbo goes back to the window and looks out. We see Gandalf hurrying away from Bag End.

Well that was fun.

We decided to just brush off the weird encounter. We then went on with our day. Lilith went back to reading her book and Kate went back to sketching. I decided to take a little nap because I felt a headache coming on. I climbed into bed and let the darkness take over.

Dream

I stood next to Bilbo as a group of dwarves sat around the table. I noticed Lilith and Kat were sitting next to a dwarf with white hair. I turned and saw Gandalf talking to a dwarf with beautiful dark hair like night and you could definitely see the stress the guys had over the years because of the long streaks of grey hair.

I looked to see Bilbo reading something so I looked and realised that it was the contract. He was going through it, walking up and down. The girls came to my side.

All of a sudden he looked up in fear as he read something. I couldn't hear what they were saying but I could tell that Bilbo was gonna faint. Lily and I got ready while Kat just tried not to laugh. Then he stopped and fainted. I quickly caught him to make sure he didn't hit his head on the floor.

I then looked at the person who was responsible for this and glared at him. If looks could kill, the dwarf would be dead in less than 5 seconds. Then everything became blurred.

I woke up a little later and decided to read something because I was bored. Time passed by so quickly and I heard a knock on my door. Lilith put her head in and announced dinner was ready. I bookmarked the page I was on and put it on my bed. I went to the kitchen and sat down next to Kate. Dinner was silent. My guess, everyone was thinking about the encounter with Gandalf. We were halfway through our meal when we heard a knock on the door.

We looked at each other in confusion because none of us were expecting any guests but then I remembered the dwarves were coming tonight. Well isn't that great.

Bilbo is not gonna be happy about this and I knew the girls were silently agreeing with me because they looked at me with concern and a little amusement because let's be honest it's going to still be so hilarious. We decided to keep that little fact to ourselves.

Well wasn't that fun. Poor Bilbo is gonna be so dead by the end of the night. I almost  want to hug him and spare him these horrible night but Alas the show must go on. Forgive me Bilbo but its what the fans and readers want. I still love you though. Now who's ready for a night of Chaos.  *Cue evil laugh* I know I'm funny. Anyway see y'all. Bye.
