Chapter 2

A day has passed since the explosion and Ekko is walking through a tight alleyway. It's dark and rotten. As he steps through he sees a figure at the end of the alley. He freezes as he looks over the person, they wear a brown jacket with one sleeve ripped off half way revealing cuts and scars on the person's arm. They're pale skin, small boots with the tops bending out, song with a blue pear of jeans.Two blue braids fall out of the bottom of the jacket all torn up and falling out of the braids. Ekko recognizes the person. "Jinx." He says, the person slowly turns around their face hidden by the shadows. "What have you done? A war is about to break out after what you did." He knew it was her, or that's what he thought. "Just leave me alone." A small crackling voice, it sounded like her throat was drier than a dessert."No, you need to pay for what you did." Jinx lifted her hood up now facing Ekko eye to eye. Her face covered in small cuts, her eyes showing a faint purple with a line of Shimmer dripping down her mouth. She coughs onto her hand, splatters of Shimmer come out splashing onto her hand. "If you're gonna kill me, get it over with." Ekko looked in shock just staring at the poor girl who stood only seven feet away."What happened to you?" Powder sighed her voice scraping like nails on a chalkboard. "Why do you care? I thought I needed to pay for my crimes." She raised her hands in confusion until they dropped back down, her arm that was showing was extremely skinny, beyond what it was before. Ekko stood there not knowing what to say, "Do I look like I want to live, I'm in agonizing pain. IT hurts, everything does. You'd be doing me a favor if you just shot me."Ekko looked down, "I can't kill you." Jinx coughed, more Shimmer came out. Ekko couldn't even look at her, it sickened him to think of her in this much pain. Ekko felt around in his pocket before finding something, he walked up to Jinx. She looked with fear but happiness thinking she'd get to leave this world. Ekko quickly pulled out a syringe with a yellow liquid, quickly injecting it into Jinx.Once she saw it she began to freak out until it was too late as she began to pass out. Ekko quickly scooped her up in his arms holding her. He looked down as Jinx blinked, staring into his eyes before fainting, Ekko then carried her out of the alley way. Next to the river just outside of the Lanes lies an old Piltover apartment. Ekko used a key unlocking the door to this small apartment, or what he calls it. His home away from home.Running the Firelights isn't easy and he needs a break now and then. In this apartment are white brick walls, dark brown carpet. A small kitchen next to a tiny living room only having a coffee table and ouch. Then in the room over is a bedroom with a queen sized bed, connected to the bedroom is a closet and bathroom. Ekko had tried his best to keep this place completely clean unlike the rest of the undercity. Then at the foot of his bed is a glass door leaving out onto a small balcony looking over the river. Ekko walks into the kitchen and through the door into the bedroom. Walking in he places Jinx on his bed.Taking off her jacket reveals cuts all over her body along with her ribs showing clear as day through her skin as purple veins coarse through her. He rubs her head before getting up and walking out of the room. Ekko leaves the apartment hopping on his board heading straight for where the Eye of Zaun used to be located before Vi destroyed it.
