Chapter 25: The Prey

(The title is "The Prey" so it's only natural I put "Animals" by Maroon 5 as the song today right?? Right. How do ya think of the story so far? Comment down! Don't be shy. Anywho anyhow, let's start!!)

Third Person's POV

[Time Remaining 9:36:54

All have been playing for 504:45:13 ]

"What the f*ck!"

Akali shouted as the announcement gave off such a loud alarm that it shook her brain right awake. She groaned and rubbed the cloth above her eyes as a natural habit, blindly searching for something on her back. When her hand finally landed on something, she tapped it a couple of times.

The thing being Shun, who's still asleep while clinging onto Akali's left leg.

"Oi.....we slept for two weeks. Get up!"

Her voice still hoarse from such a sudden awakening, she groggily shook her left leg to wake the koala-like Shun that gripped tighter than ever.

"H-huh? Where are we? How long were we out?"

Shun yawned when Akali successful woke him up, stretching the sore parts from his uncomfortable position while he slept.

"Hey system how long were we out again??"

[8 hours in game, 3 weeks in real life.]

This statement shocked Shun fully awake, making him frantically look for Akali who's just in the corner of the cave that they were in.........talking...to a bear? The bear gave her what looks like an alive pig that squealed it's last before being slashed to death on it's throat.

"You done freaking out? Let's move. We just need to get inside the tower. I'm done with this sh*t game."

Akali grumbled, quite salty that she didn't impress the Goddess of Hunt. She's the only source of takoyaki in this forest hell, so it was absolutely devastating for the white haired girl to suddenly be of hunger in the thought of soft, warm takoyaki melting on her tongue because of extreme softness.

"Yeah sure. How many points do we have again??"

"I have 780 you have 600. I told my clones to kill the wild animals that they tamed."

"Okay....let's go."

For an hour or so, they ate the pig and went on their merry way. It's not a game of greed and the rewards sounds like it was shitty, so they didn't bother to kill everything they see. The two focused on finding their way back to the tower without any hitch, but as everything turns out, nothing ever goes her way.

Just before they reached a small lake, Akali stopped. Her predatory senses were warning her of something, and she didn't like the way everything around them was absolutely quiet. Not a chirp from birds or the sound of the wind rustling the leaves. Just silence.

The white haired girl bit her thumb deep enough to make it bleed. When nothing happens, she knew they weren't in a genjutsu. So as a countermeasure, she suddenly snatched Shun's arm and opened his palm, quickly slashing his hand with a kunai that made him flinch in pain.

"Hey! What was that for.....?"

Akali didn't answer. Instead, she sniffed his blood for a couple of times so that she could imprint the scent of his blood in her nose. After she was done memorizing his scent, she licked off the rest of the blood that flowed out his palm, hummed a quick tune to heal the wound she caused.

Flushed, Shun stared at Akali. The said girl walking as if she had done nothing wrong. Which she in fact, did.

"T-that was weird. And hot."

"Horny bastard. It was so I could track you down if we got separated."

"What are you, a dog?"

"Shut up."

Akali said and rolled her eyes. The unsettling feeling was still bothering her, but as long as she's aware of something, she can fight anything off efficiently.

"Ah....Kali? We have company....."

From the bushes all around them, there was rustling. And she was sure those aren't bunnies as everything, or should I say, everyone, emerged from their hiding place.

"I admit that was clever. Escaping death so narrowly is a talent of yours huh? Too bad."

The ground below them slowly sunk as both listened to what Kai has to say.....a jutsu, casted by one person from the many teams he had brought with him.

"Hah.....let's see....situation?"

"Three teams. All looks annoyed at you for some reason."

"Possible escape?"

"Low. They even tied up Junko."

Shun pointed to the red haired girl, currently sitting beside Kai whilst tied up and gagged.

"Well sh*t. How much time do we have left?"

"Four hours travel....one hour rest, one hour eating time, we have exactly 3 hours to defeat these guys and go inside the tower!"

"Understood. Let's beat the sh*t out of these guys."

Grabbing the soil as hard as she can, she single-handedly pulled the two of them out of the ground, immediately springing into action as soon as the dirt came flying.

"Attack them!!"

Shouted Kai, pointing at the two. The others knew what they had to do, and in a second, it was raining bullets around them.

"Cover me Mieli!!"

"Got ya!"

The two are in perfect sync as they fought off the combatants they had to face. While Akali tanked for the both of them, Shun summoned his gauntlet and shoot deadly rays of sunlight onto each Akali took down.

Akali rushed at a player. She dipped and weaved right as she was about to reach him and slashed downwards with the sword she picked up from another one she knocked out. Shun parried an attack from a melee fighter with one of his gauntlets and the blade clashed against the metal strapped to Shun’s arms with a shriek that sent sparks flying into the air. 

Not being accustomed to the ways of the sword, Akali's blade was knocked away from her hand and onto a players foot, which he quickly kicked away from her and onto his teammates that successfully stole it away from her. Akali smirked, she wasn't a big fan of swords anyways.

With a wary glance, three melee fighters surrounded the white haired girl, while Shun and the others were locked in combat of marksmanship and accuracy. She has her full trust on Shun of course, so she let him do his job and focused on the fighters before her. A turmoil of uncertain emotions boiled in her heart, so as always, she let out a fierce battle cry and lunged at the three who challenged her, hand to hand.

Akali sidestepped to the right just enough and the blade passed a hairs breath from her face. 

Quickly, before the player could respond with a follow-up, Akali swiftly punched him in the solar plexus, knocking the wind out of the swordsman, and stunning him for a brief moment.

Akali was still open for more attacks and Shun encircled her to make sure she doesn't receive any bullets from the enemy artillery.

The quick blow had opened up a player for another attack from Shun and he obliged, putting a simple sidekick into the one of the sniper's stomach, doubling him over.  Akali followed that up with a quick rising uppercut, effectively knocking one out of the fight.

The audience, which was only Junko and Kai, let out a wince for the guy.

Taking the opening and using the environment to her advantage, Akali back flipped onto a tree and pushed off towards Shun.  The maneuver sent her front flipping towards Shun and just before she reached him, Akali flattened her body out, feet first.  Instead of colliding with her adversary though, Akali opted to wrap her feet around a player's neck from behind him instead, twisted her whole body and cracked his neck with her thighs. (I personally want to die this way thank you)

The maneuver caught Shun off guard as he was recovering his wits, once again.

Akali gave him an apologetic shrug, mid air.  As if to say, “sorry” for what was going to come next.

Akali used her momentum in a creative, instead of piling into her opponent; instead, she jerked to the right and swung around the third one she was planning to bring down. Then, when she was directly behind her opponent, Akali curled her legs into his body and angled her body towards the ground, changing the direction of his fall, putting the weight of her jump into a powerful throw.

The player was pulled off his feet violently and was thrown across the forest floor. He skidded and tumbled along the ground, uncontrolled.  He was stopped by the other end of the ground, about five feet from a distant tree. A groan escaped his lips as the pain from her attack started setting in.

The player looked up and his eyes opened with surprise. 

As Akali was about to let go of the player, during the throw, she had planted both hands on the ground.  When she completed the attack, Akali sprang off her hands, throwing herself into a quick back spring, followed by another, another, and another to build momentum.  When Akali was almost to the player, she bounded off the ground and threw herself into a spin that would have made an expert gymnast jealous.

Flattening out in the air like a sideways whirling tornado, so that her body was perpendicular with the player’s as she neared the fallen boy, Akali’s spin got increasingly fast as she whipped her arms in and out, efficiently putting him into an almost uncontrollable rotation.

The player barely had time to breathe, let alone dodge. And thus, with one last final kick to the shin, the player was dead by being beat up.

"M-miela—"

"Mieli!"

Akali was surprised to see Shun being held up by the last two snipers she hasn't beat up, her lip quivered. Despite struggling for their life, even though she was winning, she lost at protecting everyone she planned on protecting.

"Kill him and take his points. And you,"

Kai smirked and took out a Tommy gun, shooting endlessly at Akali as both her and Shun's body disappeared in pixels.

"Well shit."

Kai waved menacingly at a floating camera, knowing that Akali could watch him do so. The white haired girl gritted her teeth in sheer rage. That damn bastard plans on killing her after all.

"Miela. We still have an 10 minutes before the game ends. What do we do??"

[All players have entered the tower. All 5 players eliminated. Starting ten minute countdown.]

Said a tab that appeared before them. Shun was genuinely worried about them, but relieved that Junko was alive and well inside the tower.

"We couldn't round up the whole forest in 10 minutes.....unless there's a time jutsu or a really strong one to just give us points..........."

Both were silent until they were spawned back in front of the tower, where the clones awaited Akali's command.

"You just gave me an idea Mieli. We'll win this thing and take the first place at the same time."

[The Gods are intrigued by your statement.]

"Come. Let's climb the top of the tower."

Though confused, Shun wasted no time and followed her up at the highest point of the tower. Once there, she heaved a deep breath and asked a question that made the Gods grip their thrones in anticipation.

"Hey commissioner?"

[Yes Miss Detective??]

"If I obliterate this place.........I'll accommodate the highest points right?"

[Bingo!!! Since I said any living thing, plants are included!! And if you do succeed on obliterating the whoooooole forest, the gods will reward you with something reaaaaaally special!!]

Akali grinned from ear to ear, turning to Shun excitedly as she is about to raise hell in just 5 minutes.

"We have to do this immediately."

"How...exactly?"

"Give me your chakra.....75% of it if you can. Prepare all the chakra pills you can get, and I'll start frying my chakra pathways."

[That is impossible due to gamer's body. Unless it is caused by another entity, you cannot do so yourself.]

"Thank ducks I was actually worried I'd die. Now I can go all out."

Akali flashed a sharp-toothed grin as she used both hands to form a bijudama. Her fingers felt numb due to the power of the ball that weighed on her hand, but it was only about to get worse.

"What did Pollux made me do again........saddest memory...was it? I'll get a recent one so I can still control myself.''

She thought as she finally exhausted the rest of her chakra. Her face contorted into a frown as she remembered the recent dispute with Juichiro........it shouldn't have been hard for her, she was using them after all. But then again, her heart can't always follow the sheer intelligence of her mind.

"Aah."

She opened her mouth and Shun put a pill, instantly refilling her chakra. She did this again and again and again that her whole body felt numb, her core feeling like it was going to crack. The memories aren't helping either. It only made the darkness in her mind run amok.

[The mysterious God of Chaos is delighted at the size of your bijudama.

"Here it goes.......think it can destroy everything here??"

Akali asked Shun lightheartedly. Shun frowned at her remark, clearly worried about the white haired girl's well-being. When she got no reply, Akali just sighed, letting go of the bijudama that she estimated was a couple of kilometers if not, even more.

[Deidara is pleased. Wherever he is.]

"Aaaaand with one minute to spare. Let's go Mieli. Awards are waiting for us."

She laughed evily that deeply amused the gods, made the other contestants shocked to their shit, and Shun proud like he's saying "I raised this kid".

When they entered the tower, they were greeted by open mouths and shocked gazes. Shun took the chance to flirt with all the girls he came across with. Akali walked quietly. She doesn't want another enemy by boasting her out maneuvering Kai, who looked like he was gonna explode in anger by the way.

[Coooooooooooooongratulations to the rest of the players!!! All of you have proven yourself strong, whether in body or mind! So rest assured, everyone shall receive a special gift!!]

Although obviously hostile, the three teams faced Lucian for a brief second, and then the rest of the players who either looked envious or overjoyed.

[Let's get to rewards shall we? Now for the champion of this game, you two will be crownedKing/Queen of Survival and will be rewarded with these!]

With a wave of his hand, multiple tabs appeared before the two. But the most eye-catching was that a crown and a scepter was put upon them by the commissioner, the shiny golden accessories contrasting on their dirty attire.

[The champions' levels will be doubled and will be given one whole series of legendary item builds!! Please check them later!]

[Next are the second placers!! You will be given +10 levels and is also awarded by legendary series of builds!]

'Didn't know you hoarded that many points.'

'I did say enough, didn't I? Congratulations by the way.'

Conversed Akali and Daiki as they watched the commissioner open a portal at the very back of the stage.

[Once all of you enters this stage, you will be teleported inside your desired place and will be visited by the God who chose you! So go out there, hood luck, and may the gods bless you!]

ome entered as quick as possible, and some are hesitant, but after a few moments more, all of the players are inside the portal and is chilling at a place of their choosing.

"What will I choose? Ah whatever. A garden with a lake will do."

Thought Akali as she entered the darkness of the portal, immediately being embraced by the warmth and softness of her desired place, sparkling in soft hues of pink and pastel blue.

Not bothering to remove her clothes, she dove straight into the water and let herself sink. She can breathe underwater after all. And it's been a long time since she swam in cold waters so it was perfect.

"Ahaha~ I see you're really tired that you wanted a soft environment for a change."

The deep velvety voice of a woman sounded like echoes without ripple in her ears, Akali looked back, but what she saw was completely bizarre to her eyes.

A woman, or a goddess, dressed as such was behind her sporting a really dark but also kinda light look? The mixture of black, white and gold amplified the feel of her celestial nature, along with the golden lines that traced from her thighs, black lines that lined her pupil-less eyes. Her hair pure white like hers, cradled in a golden head protector but what caught her interest and generally revealed who she is, is the moon on her forehead that glowed a faint white, on her hand a cresent shaped sword.

"Dark."

"Well, the moon isn't only white after all. It also has a dark side."

The goddess smiled mysteriously and sat beside her, dipping her feet in the cold water and watched Akali swam on the lake.

"I guess.......you chose me huh?"

"As someone whom I'm very fond with, then yes. I totally choose you."

She chuckled and beckoned at Akali who swam forward. Half of her face was underwater so the moon goddes lifted it and squished her face, pinched her nose and kissed it multiple times.

Akali was giggling all the time the moon goddess cooed at her, she knew her weakness well and she used it for her benefit, and so, the supposedly mad tyrant was a giggling girl before her.

"S-staph...! Staph fleash......!"

There were tears forming at the sides of Akali's eyes so the Goddess let go of her face and laughed at her with a final pinch in the nose.

"You're such a cutie aren't you? Aren't you~? Does the cutie sharky want takoyaki?? Does she??"

Although the Goddess treated her like a damn pet, her rage was immediately washed away by the smell of the hot takoyaki that she fed Akali.

*nyaumph* *gulp*

"Do you love me pretty sharky?"

"Ye—"

"Oh shut up Artemis!"

A blob of blue suddenly shot past Akali and onto the moon goddess who dodged it playfully.

"Oh I didn't know we're on the Greek name basis 'Poseidon'."

"Wait Poseidon???"

"Yes yes now get out of here. You already chose your human"

"Why so jealous? You like this cute sharky so much huh? I wouldn't blame you though. She's so lovely~ yes you are~ yes you are!!"

The two gods ignored her confusion as they fought over who's who. But then again, with the moon goddess already picking a human, there was no competition in the first place.

"Do I take this to the higher ups or will you leave—"

"Okay okay! I'm leaving."

With one last chuckle, the moon goddess stood up and dried herself, squatting one last time to boop her nose onto Akali's and kiss it.

"Don't worry my pretty sharky. I chose Nao Minori as my human, so I can always hunt you down whenever I miss your prettiness~. Goodbye now"

(If you could play this while you listen to the next part, it wouldn't really be great.)

With one last snarl by "Poseidon" to the moon goddess, she disappeared from the place and left Akali with her original god.

"And here I thought you were excited to replace me. Oh great Poseidon"

The white haired girl muttered in annoyance, as her precious takoyaki time was disturbed by him. The God's eyes twitched, a big tick mark appeared on his forehead as he confronted the nonchalant white haired girl that swam carelessly on the lake.

"I was not! Why not let me know what you REALLY feel for once so I could understand what to do in those kinds of situations then?!"

"What I felt huh......well for one, I was worried."

Akali stopped swimming and sat before him on top of the water, removed her blindfold and looked at him straight in the eyes with an I'm-dead-serious-right-now look.

"I was worried because I thought you chose another player. Then I was jealous of who that player was. Then I was murderous. I thought that I'd just have to eat that player alive, and bring you back to me. Then I was sad because I thought you didn't want me anymore. But then I realized I don't have the right to cuz......well I just don't. So I was hurt. I thought I was gonna loose you to another person. So yeah that's just about it."

Akali blinked once. And then twice.

"Know what I really feel? I miss your nasty remarks about literally everything. I miss you Pollux."

And then she smiled. It was forced, but it wasn't the sarcastic type. It was more of a I-told-you-my-honest-shit-and-now-you-gotta-deal-with-it kind of way.

The god of the sea frowned and waved his hand, bringing the water that cradled Akali to him.

"Yeah. I sometimes forget you're human because of........the darkness in your mind."

He sighed and put Akali on his lap, rested his chin on her shoulder and hugged her.

"That better not be acting. It feels nice to feel loved again for......millennia."

"Everyone just either feared me or praised me. I've never had the chance to have a friend. And now that I have you, I fuck up huh?"

He chuckled sadly and looked Akali in the eyes, resting his chin on his hand with a teasing look.

"Never before have I got someone who hates my guts completely but is also there waiting for me when I leave. It's......."

"Weird?"

"Yes. Exactly."

He chuckled and leaned back, weaving his fingers in his hair, combing it.

"Yeah I'm a nice friend and all, but I won't live forever you know. I don't even know what's going to happen even if I do win this godly bet."

"That's where it gets freaky. I'll explain everything after this so let's go home okay?"

"Yeah.........*yawn* I'm tired..."

Her baby blue eyes dulled it's color and her eyelids was drooping, so Pollux carried her like an infant, snapped his fingers and opened a portal back to the stage where everyone else waited, surprised at the Shark God's appearance with the unconscious champion.

His attire was like his old one, but this time he was shirtless. His arms and torso filled with weird black lines and eyes as if he was corrupted of a nightmare, that he was. The God of the Sea was representing the black substance that surrounded Akali's mind.

 "慾 greed"

"Ah yes, the black sheep of the Gods. Are you seriously Poseidon? I thought he was the calm and reserved one. Never thought of you as a rebellious glutton."

It was the Goddess of Harvest that sneered on Pollux, probably because of him eating away all her crops.

"We all are brats from their point of view. He just lives with it instead of trying desperately to prove that their speculations of us are wrong."

The god of war. He tauntingly laughed at the uptight goddess who rolled her eyes in disgust, then looked at him.

"Here take this."

Pollux said with a smirk, giving a book to the said goddess with a snap of his finger.

"A dictionary?? Do you think mere human made gift will make my spite out of you lessen?"

"No no. No really. But open it. Go through it's pages. Maybe you can search for my fuck in one of the definitions."

Most of the players held their laughter in, as well as the other gods while the god of war blatantly made fun of the Goddess of Harvest, until she forcibly stormed out of the place along with her player.

"Hey man! Haven't seen you in 300 years!! Have you been named yet?"

The god of war asked Pollux and slung an arm on his shoulder. The two looked like obviously good friends.

"You got it dude. I have the coolest name! ✨Pollux✨"

"What, you mean the star?"

"Yeah. It means crown! And she's the queen. Cool huh?"

"Yeah right! My name is Sheridan! It means untamed"

"Oh yeah?! Mine's cooler!"

"Dream on POOlux!"

"Oh you did it now!"

The two meatheads headbutted each other with lighting between their eyes.

"Okay you two stop! Stop!!!"

With a raging bull on his right and a feral shark on his left, the God of the Sun single-handedly stopped the two's unnecessary clash while his twin, the Goddess of the Moon/Hunt watched with amusement.

[Oooookay players and Gods, as much as I want to continue watching this very beautiful reunion, all players will be spawned back to their respective nations in

0:05 seconds

Until the next games.]

And in five seconds they were gone. Teleported at a shady alley somewhere in Konoha in a flash. Pollux snapped his fingers to cover up his torso with his usual clothes, the dark linings on his body dissappearing in a blink of an eye, along with his black sclerae.

He was now looking more human-ish, and so, he walked visibly on the streets,  carrying an unconscious Akali to the hospital.

"That commissioner........now that I'm not in hiding, I'll properly kill that bastard. He didn't even bother to heal the players.......her insides are still bleeding from the bullets."

Pollux clicked his tongue and started to run, quickly arriving at the hospital to let them take care of Akali. He wasn't a healer type, he'd normally just dodge bullets before it hits him so there won't be anything to heal, but that's not the case with her. She is human, and a child at that.

"Sir please put her on the he stretcher and wait outside. We'll handle it from here."

Pollux nodded quietly and sat down on one of the benches. A little healing will do the trick. She just needs to rest for a bit, so he thought

"I should probably buy something to eat......I bet she wants takoyaki again."

He chuckled and stood up, facing the doctor that neared him after checking on Akali.

"Are you her guardian Sir?"

"Yes now speak"

"Uu-um....there's nothing much wrong...we managed to stop the internal bleeding, but there's something you should know......"

The doctor gestured Pollux to follow him in a room. There, Akali slept in bed. There was an oxygen mask that was strapped on her face, and the hospital gown that she was wearing lacked sleeves. Revealing the gills on her arms.

"It seems like she's......some sort of fish. There's an airway that directly connects from her lungs to the lines on her arms that made it possible for her to breathe there. But one of those paths is heavily damaged. Destroyed even. If we try healing it, we might cause more damage."

"I see. Is her life in danger?"

"Not entirely. There's still her nose, underneath her eyes and her left arm that makes her breathe, so we'll be hoping that it can heal on it's own. It might take a couple of weeks since she also need a lot of rest from her recent encounters."

The doctor excused himself after he explained the situation to Pollux, leaving her with him. It wasn't lethal like he said, so he would leave it to Akali to tough it out and exceed human limitations.

He sighed and exited the room, putting his hands inside his pocket as he made his way out of the hospital yet again. He might need to get a couple of things from her apartment after the food. So he immediately went grocery shopping and headed straight for TakoYuzuri to buy her favorite.

"Two bentos and 2 dozens of takoyaki. Make that assorted."

"Oh sorry, we don't really have bento right no—"

"It's for Akali."

"Akali?! You found her!? Where!"

Pollux frowned at the demanding human, but nonetheless he answered. Akali liked this human, so he's laying off. For now.

"She is somewhere in Konoha. Now my order?"

"Where?! She's been lost for almost a month now and—"

"Shut up. I told you, she's somewhere in Konoha, safe and sound. She'll come back soon."

Pollux said and looked down at the gaping Yuzo, Yuzuri was furious about his attitude but she can't really do anything about it.

After he set aside everything he bought in it's proper places, Pollux bowed curtly and left. He isn't disrespectful. He knows that they were only worried for Akali that's why they were hostile, and he perfectly understands that.

As he was about to run back to the hospital, he saw Akali on a poster in poles near her apartment. His guess? It's probably the two red heads who put it up while she was gone.

"But then again, they're not in good terms."

He muttered and took one off the wall. And another, until he was running and taking off missing posters of Akali at the same time. He rounded up Konoha in just one minute and managed to remove all the posters that had been placed, burned them to ashes and ate a small bite from the takoyaki bento he bought.

"I hope she won't be mad about me touching her takoyaki. Whoop. Feels good to have 1/8 of my power come back to me."

Now that he thought about it, no one really searched for Akali. Other than the takoyaki girl who's probably also the one who posted those signs, he saw no one frantically running around Konoha.

"Honestly. To think all her life she'd have been like this? I'm not surprised the amount of depression she has matches the mental illness of a person with anxiety. Which she probably has."

"We're back dattebayo!!!!!!!"

Pollux's eyes widened at the loud booming voice that sounded from the gates up to him. Normally, he'd praise himself for excellent hearing but now is not the time.

"Naruto.....that means Tsunade is here. I'll have her heal Akali first. Or........"

~30 minutes later~

A

heavy atmosphere surrounded one hospital room as a boy wearing a green spandex walked out of it. Lee, who had just finished taking diagnostics with Tsunade was in heavy spirits. Who wouldn't, after hearing such a news that he can never be a ninja.

"If you don't mind, Tsunade-sama?"

"What is it?"

A doctor with quite big glasses asked, peeking through the door.

"There's a.......special case you have to know about."

"Take me there. Let's go Shizune."

After a couple of minutes, they reached a door with the 145 number on it. Upon entering, the women saw Pollux reading some sort of book was beside Akali who's still unconscious. Her heavy breathing concerning the blonde sannin, but failing to properly assess what's going on. So she neared the white haired girl, Pollux taking away his attention from the book and onto his human with a discreet smirk in his face.

"Now that's how you make a dramatic entrance. Nice job doctor"

He said with a wink as he put his hands in his pocket and watched Tsunade's hand glow green. The doctor then left afterwards to let them take care of things.

"Weird......her respiratory system reaches up to her eyes? Wait...these are gills....."

Tsunade gave a questioning look to Pollux who only shrugged at her.

"Who are you and what is she?"

"Hm...? I need to be able to trust you first."

"That's supposed to be my line. I'm the Godaime Hokage. You're the suspicious one in here."

Pollux shrugged once again and sat at Akali's bed.

"Fair enough. I'm her......guardian. And she's a gift from Udon no Kuni to the Third Hokage for political purposes."

"That doesn't explain why she has gills."

"I'm getting there. Know about Kisame Hoshigaki??"

Pollux smirked as a surprised face appeared on the usual cocky facade she was portraying.

"She's a Hoshigaki?"

"That, we don't know. She's still wondering about her entire existence, but that's not the point here is it? Can you heal her?"

"Of course. One busted airway is an easy fix."

he said and placed a hand on Akali's arm, instantly regenerating her airway and any other injuries she accumulated. Tsunade sighed. It isn't even her first day yet and she's already dealing with a large problem namely Akali. Hokage business sure is hard.

"Hng......Artemis visited me in my dreams."

"Really? Did you kill her in your dreams?"

Pollux asked with the softest voice he could muster.

"No. She gave me takoyaki. Holy sh*t....do I have a cold? One of my gills feels congested......."

She said and yawned, revealing her sharp teeth that amazed Tsunade, but only to a certain point.

"Akali, was it?"

"Hai, Hokage-sama."

"We're gonna have a talk after you recover. For now, rest up."

She said and left, along with Shizune who stared at her for a little longer. Akali waved at her with closed eyes and a smile just before they fully left.

"Hey. You gucci?"

"......I want gucci yes."

"I meant to ask if you're fine dum dum."

"Yeah. What's up with the wording tho. Sounds weird."

"Yep. Whatchu gonna do now?"

Akali smiled and leaned back on the bed, combing her hair with her fingers.

"Future criminal negotiations. And I'll sort my system inbox again. For now, I want a very long sleep. After that takoyaki you just bought."

"Heh. Sharp eyes."

"You bet."
