Chapter 13

It's Monday again. I sit down next to Max and he grabs my hand under the table. I look at him and smile. We really have been acting like a couple recently. The school day seems to last years. But then it's finally over. Max walks up to me as I'm walking out of school. He places his hand on my shoulder. I turn around and smile at him."Hey!" He whispers softly."Hey!" I reply."My Mum said you're coming round for tea tonight! She's arranged it with your mum already! Harvey's got a detention so we'll just have to wait for him. Then we'll walk home!"Harvey seems to be getting detention a lot. I hope he is ok. We wait outside for him. I don't know how long his detention is but I hope it's not too long. It starts getting cold, even with my blazer on I start shivering. Max sees and wraps his arm around me."Are you cold?"He takes off his jacket from underneath his blazer and hands it to me. I smile gratefully and put it on. Then we sit down at a bench, cuddling into each other. It seems like hours and hours go by where we just sit there in silence, my head on his shoulder, staring up at the sky, the breeze hitting our faces. Eventually, Harvey comes out looking very annoyed."I've got detention again tomorrow!" He mumbles and then shuffles ahead. We follow him until we reach the end of the road. He's too far ahead for us to catch up."What's wrong with him?" I ask."I don't know, I've never seen him like this before!" Says max. He has disappointment in his eyes."You know, we waited a long time for Harvey, it's extremely rude that he didn't even thank us. We shouldn't have even bothered waiting!" He shouts across to Harvey.Harvey ignores him and walks speedily down the road. I sigh. I already know that things are going to be bad when we get back to their house.When we do arrive back, Harvey is sour faced, not even bothering to reply back to Leo."Harvey are you listening to me?""No!" He replies coldly and gives us an icy stare.I feel like crying. How could somebody I am so close to be acting so awful like this to us for no reason at all? But I hold back my tears. I don't want to make a fool out of myself. Harvey charges up to his room so max follows, and so do I. Maybe we can find out why he's so moody."Hey, Harvey, mate? You ok?" Max whispers into the room.Harvey sits there staring at the wall."You know if something is bothering you, you can tell us!"Harvey laughs. "You have no idea!" He mutters then goes back to staring at the wall. Max places his hand on his shoulder but he shrugs it away."Dude! Why are you being like this? Jess is supposed to be here to have a good time and you're ruining it for her. Stop being such a sulky idiot."Harvey turns around and leaps on to Max. Scratching at his face. Max then punches Harvey's jaw. I try to stop them but then end up getting my wrist twisted. I suddenly hear a snap, and I feel the pain. I scream. But they're too busy fighting. I feel so scared. What's happening? And then I faint...So nothing interesting has really been happening in the story so I added some drama. What do you think has happened to jess' wrist? And what is wrong with Harvey?
