Chapter 10: Good or Bad News

GOT7 have left the dorm. We, Jimin, Yerin and I, are cleaning the room because on a while JYP will arrive.

Jimin suddenly sang Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA. Suddenly, I remembered watching the Pitch Perfect movie and I remembered how well they sang this song.

Jimin: I hopped off the plane at L.A.X. with a dream and my cardigan

I suddenly joined Jimin.

Jimin and Rhianne: Welcome to the land of fame, excess, whoa! am I gonna fit in? Jumped in the cab, here I am for the first time Look to my right, and I see the Hollywood sign

This is all so crazy, everybody seems so famous My tummy's turnin' and I'm feelin' kinda homesick Too much pressure and I'm nervous That's when the taxi man turned on the radio

We paused for a bit and looked at Yerin who is not joining us. Then Yerin suddenly smiled.

Yerin: So I put my hands up, they're playin' my song The butterflies fly away All: I'm noddin' my head like Yeah! Movin' my hips like Yeah!

Got my hands up, they're playin' my song And now I'm gonna be okay Yeah! It's a party in the USA! Yeah! It's a party in the USA!

 

We enjoyed the song very much. Even though I just met them, it feels like I belong. They do not make me feel like I’m not an idol. They treat me well. Then suddenly we heard a knock on the door and then JYP entered.

We all greeted him warmly and asked him to sit down on the sofa bed. I prepared a coffee for him too, to warm him up since it’s kinda cold outside (or maybe I’m just not used to with the climate here XD)

“I heard you singing earlier.” JYP said. “All of you made a great blending. I like it.”

I smiled as I was pouring the coffee to a cup.

“Oh, thank you for the coffee.” JYP said. “I like you all, to please sit down, even you Rhianne.”

We all sat down. I don’t know what JYP will be saying today that he still need to go here, right now, at this time. I think it’s a very important thing.

“The board and I have talked. We have planned to make a comeback for 15&…”

Jimin and Yerin were so happy.

“…with a new member”

Everyone seemed to look very shock. Then Jimin and Yerin looked at me. I looked back at them like saying, ‘What?’

“Is it Rhianne?” Yerin said.

“The board hasn’t decided who the new member will be.” JYP said.

Sigh.

“But there’s a great chance that it will be Rhianne.”

Jimin and Yerin then looked at me smilingly.

“I want her to be part of 15&, right Yerin?” Jimin said. Yerin nodded.

“Singing with her earlier made me realize that she is good, especially in putting a great blending between the voices. I hope it’ll be her. Please tell it to the board that we are interested with Rhianne.” Yerin said.

“But, the board is also planning to make her debut as a solo artist.” JYP said.

“But, I haven’t trained for years nor won on any singing competitions.” I said.

JYP suddenly brought out his laptop showing us a video compilation of my performances.

“We’ve made some research about your background. Since child, you were a scholar and always top of the class. When you entered high school, you were able to pass almost all the entrance test of the best schools but you chose to be in an arts school. This art school has made you improved a lot. It is where you learn to play instruments just by listening to the music. This is where you were able to compose your own song for your classmates. You performed in front of millions of people in the Quirino Grandstand. You’ve joined in a lot of group competitions. It’s like you have been trained for 4 years.” JYP said.

I was shocked. Where did they get that information? How did they know all of these?

“Rhianne-unnie, you really entered a school like that? Like Kirin Arts School?” Jimin asked.

“It wasn’t actually like that. Kirin Arts School really focuses on performing arts. While our school, we still have some basic education like Math, Science, History and others. Every Friday, there we will be having our practices. But when I was on my senior year, I was not able to attend my regular classes anymore because of our schedule. Almost every day we were performing, so every day we were practicing too.” I said.

“Not only that, you were also a part of your university’s choir wherein you competed in Europe and you won.” JYP said.

Jimin and Yerin looked at me more.

“Really?” Jimin said. “Wooh. This unnie is really something.” Jimin said.

“But we still need to see the reactions of the fans. The comeback will be on December. It will be a Christmas tribute for your fans.” JYP said.

“How about Ui Bong?” I asked.

“His debut is still unclear.” JYP said

What? But Ui Bong is better than me.

“Uhm and by the way, don’t be shocked with tomorrows news. I’m leaving.” JYP said.

What did he mean by that? O.o

When Jimin already closed the door, she immediately ran towards me.

“UNNIE! Yah, why haven’t you told us about that? You still have a lot of things to tell us. But I’ll let you go this day. I know you’re very tired with your training today.” Jimin said. “Goodnight. Rest well.” she added.

Everyone went to their rooms and I lay down on my bed still thinking of what JYP has said. Is that news really good or bad? I don’t know.

Next day…

I prepared myself for this day’s activities.

Yerin, Jimin and I went out of the room together since we will be together in our acting session today. When we went out, Mark was there.

“Oppa!” Yerin exclaimed.

“Are you going there already? I’m coming with you.” he said.

I smiled at him but he just continued to ignore me. What did I do with him? Can anybody tell me? Why is my heart aching? Seeing Mark honestly makes my heart ache, literally.

“Rhianne-a!” someone shouted.

When I look in front, it was Jr.

“Yah, are you going to be busy on Saturday?” he said.

“Saturday? I don’t remember going anywhere, why?” I asked.

“JB and I…” Jr was still saying something when Mark suddenly interrupts.

“Yah, you still have to come with me on Saturday. Remember the punishment?” Mark said coldly.

“Ow… yes… I forgot. I’m sorry.” I told Mark. “I’m sorry but I still have a punishment to bear.” I said to Jr.

“Oh, hyung, will it take you the whole day?” Jr asked Mark.

“Not actually, it depends.” Mark said.

“Okay. Then, can I have Rhianne on Saturday evening?” Jr said.

“Yah, Rhianne-unnie is not a thing that you can just pass and ask on someone. And she’s not yours. She’s mine.” Jimin said while hugging me.

“I didn’t mean that Jiminieee.” Jr said. “What do you think hyung?”

“Like what Jimin said, no one owns her. She will be deciding it.” Mark said.

“Oh, okay. So are you fine with it Rhianne-a?” Jr asked me.

“Okay.” I said.

Jr smiled and then went back to his dorm. We then continued to walk.

“You look like very close with Jr oppa.” Yerin said. “Do you like him?”

Mark suddenly stopped.

“What’s the problem Mark oppa?” Yerin said.

“Oh nothing, I just remembered something. Never mind. Let’s just continue walking.” he said.

Yerin again asked me the same question.

“Jr and I became close because we can understand each other. We were able to talk about life when we were in the rooftop. I was just practicing for the first evaluation and he helped me improve my singing. He’s just someone special, like a best friend.” I said.

“It’s like you’re saying that you like him too. Why won’t you say it directly? I won’t tell it anyway.” Mark said.

“Yah, what’s wrong with you Mark oppa?” Jimin said.

“So, if you think that what I said was equivalent to liking him, then you can say I like him. But he’s just a special person for me. That’s all. No feelings involved.” I said.

I’m kinda pissed off with Mark’s attitude today, actually since yesterday night. He’s weird.

“Then, I’m going to tease you with Jr oppa.” Yerin said.

I just smiled and looked at Mark who is still looking down. Just don’t mind him Rhianne.

We were already in the place but Ui Bong is not yet here.

“I wonder where Ui Bong is.” I told Jimin.

“Oh, yeah, where is he?” Jimin looked everywhere to see if Ui Bong came.

Seonsaengnim suddenly came.

“Okay everyone. Sorry for being late. I have to talk to JYP. So let’s start this session.”

Jimin raised her hand and asked, “Uhm, by any chance, do you know where Ui Bong is?”

Seonsaengnim looked cold.

“He won’t be attending the training anymore.”

What?

“What? Why?” Jimin said.

“He went back to his country because of personal issues. He already talked to JYP and fixed everything. I know it’s kinda shocking but we have to accept everything. Besides, he can still go back here if he wants.”

No matter what he is thinking right now, I hope he is fine. I hope everything is fine. I hope he’ll come back.

“So, *clap*, let’s start now.” seonsaengnim said. “As I promised Yerin, your partner for today is Mark. Then Rhianne and Jimin, you two.”

After a long acting session, it’s finally finished. I wonder why I have to take this. I’m not even planning to act. I just want to sing, just sing.

I was about to go out the room when Jr suddenly came to our room.

“Who’s going to be the new 15& member? Is it Rhianne?” Jr said excitingly.

“What?” Mark said. Then he looked at me.

“Ooh, how did you know?” Jimin said.

“It’s in the news. It says that you’ll make a comeback on December with a new member. So it’s really Rhianne?” Jr said.

“No, no. It’s not yet decided. There will be a new member but it’s not sure if it is me. There is still someone else better than me.” I said.

“But I think our Rhianne will do great.” Seonsaengnim said.

“I agree.” Mark said. He suddenly smiled at me.

This morning you’re very mad at me then now, you’re smiling at me? For real? What’s this game? -_-

“The company hasn’t given any statements yet. But I hope it will be Rhianne-a” Jr said.

I also want to debut but I don’t think being in 15& is a great idea. They already debuted for years and just now, I’ll join them. How will the fans react to it?

“But what was the response of the fans?” Yerin asked.

“Wait, I’m going to read some.” Jr said.

Oooh, they’re talking. Ayieee. Hahaha. Okay I’m making an issue in my mind.

“A lot of fans loved the idea, although there are still some comments that they do not agree. But there are a lot of people who wants to see the new member of 15&. I think it is going to be interesting.” Jr said.

When I heard what Jr said, suddenly, there in my heart, the feeling of wanting to join 15& came. I need to work hard more.

I didn’t imagine this day will go so fast. I hope everything will be fine.
