Chapter 20

It's been a few weeks since Vegas and Pete started dating. Macau was back in States and called Vegas daily to ask about the progress of his work.

Vegas and Pete were busy with assignments and studies but still manage to find time for each other. Today Vegas was at the site to check the progress in the construction and verify some stuff.

He was talking to some of the staff there when his phone rang, he looked at the caller ID to see Pete calling him. He excused himself from the group and picked up the call and said

"Hello Pete, are you missing me?"

"It's not that Vegas" Pete said with a worried tone

"What happened Pete are you all right?" Vegas asked when he heard Pete's worry laced voice

"I'm alright Vegas but you are not" Pete said

"But I'm totally fine what can happen to me" Vegas said

"You're fine now but not in a few hours" Pete said

"Why? What happened?" Vegas asked

"Vegas, my dad, he knows we are dating. I don't know how he found out but he told me to invite you to dinner tonight he said he wants to talk to you" Pete said

"Pete first calm down and don't worry. He wants to talk to me then I'll talk to him" Vegas assured Pete

"But Vegas what if he's not okay with us dating, what if he ask you to stop dating me what will we do?" Pete said

"Pete calm down, first let's talk to him and  find out and even if he really ask me to stop dating you, you know I won't. I'll try my best to win over your dad so he will accept us okay, now don't worry. I'll see you tonight" Vegas said

"Okay, then see you tonight" Pete said and hung up.  Vegas told Pete to not worry but now he was worried what if all that Pete said comes true, he dismissed all the negative thoughts and decided to focus on his work for now.

Later that night

Vegas was at the front of Pete's mansion, ready to face whatever may come their way. He rings the doorbell and it was opened by Mary.

"Welcome khun Vegas, khun Pong is in the living room. He told me to bring you there so please follow me" Mary said and lead the way.

Vegas followed Mary to the living room and found Pong sitting on the couch he greet him

"Good evening uncle Pong" Vegas said

"Good evening Vegas have a seat" Pong said

Vegas sat down and said

"I heard that you wanted to talk to me uncle"

"Yes but let Pete come down then we will talk" Pong said

After a while Pete came downstairs and greet his dad and Vegas, and sat down beside his dad

"Since Pete is also here, let me ask you two a question" Pong said

"Okay uncle" Vegas said

"Are you two dating?" Pong asked

"Yes uncle" Vegas answered

"How long have you two been dating?"

"A few weeks" Vegas said

"Do you love my son?" Pong asked

"Yes uncle, I love Pete very much" Vegas answered seriously

"Will you hurt him ever?"

"No uncle never, I can't even think of hurting him." Vegas said

"Will you take care of him? Can I trust you?" Pong said

"I will take care of Pete my whole life if I can uncle, you can trust me " Vegas said and looked at Pong

Pete who was listening silently from the side was worried what his father was gonna say next but what his father said next shocked him

"So what are you gonna give me as dowry for Pete?" Pong said seriously

"Anything you want uncle" Vegas replied instantly and then looked at Pong confused

"Dowry?" Vegas asked

"Yes dowry if you're gonna take  my son away from me atleast give me some dowry" Pong said and smiled

"Dad you're not gonna get angry and ask Vegas to stop dating me?" Pete asked

"No, why did you think I was gonna do that? I'm not that backward son" Pong said

"So you are okay with me and Vegas dating" Pete asked

"Yes I'm fine, why? Did you think I was gonna get angry and ask you two to stop dating?" Pong said

"Well yes" Pete replied

"Oh I'm not that type of person Pete, I may be old but I understand all this . I'll never stop my son from being with someone he loves, I will never interfere in your love life as long as you yourself don't ask me to and I'm okay with you dating Vegas he is a good person. I saw him grow up in front of my eyes and I trust him. And plus point I know his family so I don't have to worry" Pong answered

"Thank you dad" Pete said and hugged him

"But by the way how did you find out about me and him dating?" Pete asked

"I may not be home quiet often but I have my eyes around following you who keep me updated about you, you didn't think I would be careless enough to leave you alone" Pong answered

"Tell me honestly Saint told you didn't he?" Pete said

"Well I never said he told me it was you who guessed it," Pong said and smiled

"I'll talk to him about that later, still thank you dad" Pete said

Vegas who was still stunned was brought back from his thoughts when Pong pat his shoulder and said

"Welcome to the family son, I'm giving you my most cherished treasure to take care of please take good care of him, never hurt him okay or else I'll hunt you down" Pong said seriously

"Thank you uncle I promise I'll not disappoint you" Vegas said

"Okay now let's go and have dinner" Pong said. They all had dinner together happily.

After dinner, Vegas and Pete were at the balcony when Pete said

"Vegas..."

"Hmmm"

"Since dad accepted us do you wanna go meet mom" Pete asked

"I will be more than happy to go meet her" Vegas said

"Then let's go next week after tests are over" Pete said

"Okay" Vegas replied

"And Vegas what about your dad?" Pete asked

"He already knows I told him" Vegas answered

"Huh when? When did you tell him?" Pete questioned

"Today after you called" Vegas answered

"Huh why?" Pete asked

"When you called I was very nervous and all that questions you asked didn't help either so I called dad told him everything so that he could be on our sides if anything goes wrong but it turns out I didn't need to do that your dad accepted us lovingly" Vegas answered

"Is he okay with all this?" Pete asked

"At first he was shocked but after I told him everything he was fine, and told me to call him and that he will talk to uncle Pong if things didn't go well" Vegas said

"Really, I should thanks uncle Kan then" Pete said

"No you don't have to I'll call him later and tell him that everything is fine" Vegas said

"Okay fine" Pete said and leaned in closer to hug Vegas. Vegas opened his arms and hugged Pete, he kissed his forehead and hugged him tighter never wanting to let go.
