Trust Him

"This hotel is not making any progress, Charlie." Melody voices out as she narrows her eyes up at the blonde haired girl. She sits behind the office desk with papers and files about the clients in this hotel which are only four demons. Charlie rubs her arms as she averts her eyes all over the place but Melody's eyes that are behind small glasses and is glued to the princess in front of her.

"Well.. I don't know what to!" Charlie exclaims in distress as she sighs and finally looks at Melody which she barely could hold eye contact due to the black haired girl glaring daggers.

"Well maybe if you focus on your work more and stop flirting in the lobby maybe it'd help." Melody scrunches her nose in disgust as she rolls her eyes and looks back down at the files, Charlie frowns but she knows Melody is right. "Just go, I want to be alone." Melody waves her hand, Charlie flatten her lips as she slowly nods and leaves the room immediately.

The blonde haired demon sighs as her shoulders drop in sadness and she sighs.

"What's wrong, Sunshine?" Sin asks from sitting by the couches, Charlie looks up at the girl. She invites the princess to sit with her and she accepts it.

"Mel is mad that the hotel is falling apart.." Charlie mumbles, Sin raises her eyebrows.

"How so?" She looks around to find that Angel is just bothering Alastor and Slither by the bookshelves and Akira is nowhere to be found, probably up in his room. "Everyone been doing good?" She states, Charlie shrugs her shoulders as she groans and covers her face with her hands.

"Maybe it's because you and Angel been sneaking out a lot but I didn't do anything about it! Mel said it's because I was so busy with Al.." Charlie mumbles into her hands, Sin accidentally snorts.

"Chin up, Sunshine! I made sure Angel don't do anything bad, we only been out to get ice creams and spend some time with our buddy Cherri. It's nothing to be worried about." Sin reassures, "But about that with you and Al.." Sin giggles, "I think Mel is just jelly." Charlie looks up with itched eyebrows.

"Why?" She asks, straightening her posture on the couch back up. Sin rolls her eyes playfully,

"You don't notice, huh? Before you and him even hit it up, Mel been smiling a lot with him." Sin grins, Charlie's eyes widens as she tries to blink like she couldn't believe it.

"She.. smiled? Are you sure it's a genuine smile?" She inches closer and closer to Sin. The girl laughs as she nods, "And as far as I've known Mel-" Before Sin could say anything else, the front door of the office slams open as someone is being thrown out and harshly lands on the floor of the lobby. Charlie panics as she stands up and hurries right over to the person and kneels down beside them,

"Akira?!" Charlie gasps, there's a bruise on his chin which probably came from a harsh punch. Charlie looks at the door frame to see Melody with narrowed eyes.

"Go trip on a fucking knife." She sneers as she slams the door shut. Right after the door shuts close, two shadowy figures appears beside the door, as if guarding it. On their forehead, there's a pink star. Sin recognizes those demons to be Dead Souls that serves 'Miss Karma' as their punishment. Charlie helps Akira up on his feet as she stares at the two demons in fear, they don't seem to even have any light in their eyes. They're both dull and looks like concrete statues, mimicking their master.

Charlie helps Akira walk to the couches as he sits across from Sin. The space buns girl glares at the male as one of her eyebrows raises up,

"Why are you so desperate?" She asks, making Akira slouch forward and bury his face. Charlie looks at Sin with a surprised look, Sin only holds her hands up and shrugs.

"It's the curse." Akira mumbles as he rubs his face in frustration. "Unless she gets rid of it for me, I won't be able to move on from her." He says as he sits right up again as he pushes his locks of hair from his forehead, revealing the same pink star.

"You would usually see this mark on those sinners who are dead and have to serve her as a punishment, but I'm not completely dead; I'm cursed." Akira sighs as he hugs himself, "Those with these marks on them have a spell on them that makes them fall submissive for her. We can't escape."

Akira hangs his head low and let his hair cover his face. Sin blinks, uninterested. She doesn't know why but she have a immersive animosity towards the male. It's like the pain that was inflicted on Melody had just transferred to her instead.

"Maybe if you treated her like the goddess she is, pay attention on her and not cheat on her like she's nothing less than a peasant, maybe you two would still be a thing now." Sin sneers as she stands up from the couch and walks off to Angel who's now bothering Husk. Charlie bites down on her lips, not knowing what to say.

"I mean, she got a point. Mel is better off without you anyways." Slither suddenly voices out from behind the couch, as if taunting the silver haired demon who have his head still hung low. Akira stands up, making Charlie quietly gasps. Without any word, he turns on his heels and walks off to his hotel room up the stairs.

Slither watch the pathetic demon walk off with shame latching on his back like a leech. The blue spider demon rolls eyes and closes a book that's in his hand. He thought for a second before looking at the office door, he haven't talked to Melody in quite a while. So he walks up to the door but stopped by the two demons, they didn't say anything as they stare at him. Without a word, they suddenly let him in. He shrugs and opens the door, seeing that Melody had actually passed out on the couch.

He walks up to look at her who's hugging one of the couch cushions and burying her nose into it. He shrugs once again and walks to another couch and sits down on it, continue reading his book. In the middle of reading his book, he would catch Melody whimpering in her sleep. For the third time he hears it, he closes his book and stands up, walking up to the girl and kneels down beside her by the couch. He thinks for a moment, whether to wake the girl up or let her have her nap. Melody did have a rough morning, having to deal with everyone in the hotel and such.

Before Slither could make a choice, the ringtone of her phone rings making her suddenly sit up in a jolt. Without even noticing Slither; Melody pulls out her phone and looks at the screen of the device.

"Fuck." Melody cuss after squinting her eyes to look at her screen. Slither stands up and looks at the screen to see 'Lucifer' is the one ringing her phone. She answers it and opens it on a speaker as she unties her hair and reties it in the process. "Hello?" Melody greets,

"Melody, I want you to send Alastor and my dear Charlie to my office. I also want you here." Melody rolls her eyes, "There will be a limo arriving soon." Lucifer announces. "Do I make myself clear?" He asks, teasing Melody on purpose.

"Yes, Luci." Melody holds the urge to scoff as Lucifer ends the call. Right after that she toss the phone on the other couch and flops back down on the couch, finally noticing Slither. The two stare at each other in a silence. "Oh, hi." She greets with no emotion. Slither only shrugs his shoulders,

"Do you need help?" He asks as he puts away the small book in his hand into his coat. Melody sits back up and fixes her jacket.

"Sure." She agrees as she walks over to her phone that she had tossed and shove it into her jacket. The girl walks towards the door with Slither following behind her and opens the door, the two demons by the door disappearing in thin air the second the door opens. Melody walks over to Alastor and Charlie who's talking with one another. "The King wants to see both of you, a limo will be arriving soon." She repeats what she had been told with a dull face, Alastor looks at her with his usual smile but something seems off in that smile. She only turns on her heels and leaves right away.

"Isn't that wonderful? Dad wants to see us!" Charlie cheers happily, Alastor only chuckle in response as he lets the girl babble on her own. He glances throughout the room to watch Melody talk with Slither, despite his good and superior skills; Slither looks back at him with a warning look when Melody turns to the side to talk to Vaggie. Alastor's smile widens as he turns his attention back to the princess in front of him.

"I'm so sorry, Vag." Melody whispers to the shorter girl in front of her. "I'll make sure she's happy, alright?" She reassures, knowing how painful it is to go through something like that. Vaggie's shoulders are dropped and she have a frown on her face, even though Melody herself isn't smiling and have an empty look on her face; she still tells Vaggie.

"A frown doesn't suit a strong girl like you, smile and fuck shit up." Melody smiles a little, Vaggie couldn't help but smile too. She nods as Melody nods back and pats her shoulder, she turns to Slither. "Let's go." The blue spider nods as he walks towards the hotel front doors, Melody following behind.

"Let's go, dear." Alastor calls Charlie and she nods repeatedly with a big smile on her face. Slither opens the door and gestures Melody to walk out first as she nods at him as a thanks. He also lets Charlie walks out first before following behind the two girls, purposely making Alastor a bit ticked off.

A white limo is parked right outside, waiting for them. Right when Melody is nearby the limo, one of the Dead Souls demon appears and opens the door for her which she walks in and sits on the end of the limo. Charlie also enters, followed by Slither. When Alastor is about to get in, the demon glares at him which he only smile in return.

The door of the limo closes and the limousine starts to drive off. Charlie looks around the limousine in awe, it looks completely different from the one she rode on before.

"ああ, ファック。 (Ā, fakku./ Ah, fuck)" Melody cuss as her red glittery smoke appears as it summons a bunch of papers and drops it on her lap. Slither, who's sitting beside her; looks at the papers to find it's actually all of Lucifer's deal agreement of other overlords. "I'm not his fucking assistant what the hell." Melody whispers as she looks through the papers and groans.

"Vox?" Slither says as he reads out one of them, Alastor immediately looks up from the mentioning of his arch nemesis' name. Melody shrugs,

"He's annoying." Melody says as she puts the paper about Vox all the way down on purpose so she wouldn't have to look at it. She sighs while going through all of the papers, rolls her eyes and throws the paper to the side as it disappears in a puff of red smoke.

The limousine stops as the door opens up, Melody stands up and gets out, followed by the others. They have arrived in a part of hell that is a bit further away from hell civilization. It's like a dream castle, but more terrifying because it's hell and well- Lucifer. Melody walks up the stairs in the entrance as she knocks on the door and pushes it open, having other demons who are working under Lucifer greeting in a line.

"Welcome back, Princess. Miss Karma." They greet, Charlie purses her lips; remembering how much she dislike being in the palace. The girl only smile in return, Melody lets the three of the demons walks first as she closes the big palace doors behind her. Red smoke covers her whole body and when it clears up, she returned to wearing her usual black dress. Her horns are sticking out and her scythe is in her right hand.

"Let's be fast, the king is waiting in his office." Melody says, Charlie nods and walks off with Alastor with their arms intertwined with each other. She only stare as the two disappear from sight and turns to Slither, "You can go anywhere you'd like, there's a library on the third floor if you'd like." Slither looks down at Melody and stares at her horns, without hesitating; he reaches out and tugs on her horn which she knits her eyebrows in confusion.

"Oh, this is real." He blurts out the obvious as he tugs on it even more, pulling the girl's head. All the other demons gasp audibly in surprise and terror.

"Slyvan-" Melody calls out, making him stop instantly. That's his nickname, it caught him off guard for a moment. "For hell's sake, I have to go." Melody says ss she rubs her horns and fixes her hair, the spider only nods. She turns on her heels and walks up the stairs to Lucifer's office.

"Are you sure?" Lucifer asks Charlie, the blonde raises her eyebrows in confusion.

"What do you mean, dad?" Lucifer shrugs, gesturing to Alastor; making it obvious. Charlie puffs her cheeks,

"Yes, I'm sure!" Charlie blurts out, Alastor chuckles.

"Your father is joking with you, dear." Lucifer laughs, Charlie crosses her arms like a child. Alastor laughs along Lucifer too. The two overlords don't despise each other, rather; they respect each other. They look after each other's dignity and reputation. Besides, they're both much more superior and powerful out of all the other overlords, or so they thought.

A knock silences all of them as Lucifer announces that they can come in, the door opens; revealing Melody walking in. Her eyes flicker up from the floor up to Lucifer, she closes the door behind her as she walks all the way beside his table; standing there like a bodyguard.

"Alright, now that you're here, Karma." Lucifer says as he turns his attention back to the couple in front of him, "I'm sure you've known Alastor for some time now, haven't you?" He presses the last two words on purpose, Melody holds the urge to roll her eyes as she nods respectfully.

"Yes, I have known Alastor, sir." Melody replies, the said demon smiles at her which she did not return.

"Wonderful. As you see, he is in love with my daughter, Charlie. Therefore, I order you to work alongside him too." Lucifer says, Melody is bewildered. She blinks as she turns to look at the king of hell with a look of disbelief.

"I want you to trust him, Karma." Lucifer makes himself clear.
