Chapter 9 - we need a distraction

NARRATOR'S POV

FRIDAY

Bluey woke up then immediately remembered that today was the day of the science fair and also the day she would complete her first task. She had an awesome idea of what she would do.She got up from bed and went to take a shower and brush her teeth. She glanced into Bingo's room and saw she was still sleeping. She went downstairs for breakfast. Her mum just finished making breakfast, she sat down to eat.She didn't feel like talking. Normally she would love to talk to her mum but she didn't know what to talk about. She still doubted that nightmare was real. She always thought ' I just started school how and why would someone do this ' .

" Bluey " her mum said snapping her out of the realm of thought.

" Hmm " she responded.

" Is everything ok? " Chili asked

The question shocked her but of course mums know when their kids aren't ok. She hated to lie to her mum but she couldn't tell her what's really going on " Yeah "

" Are you sure?, you're not acting like your usual self " Chili added. She noticed something was wrong with her daughter. Bluey used to be a lively kid and a chatterbox but now she barely talked. She was getting concerned. She didn't any of her kids to be going through something and not tell her.

" Well, it's just that school is tough and I'm not coping with anything, I'm bad at math and chemistry but I don't want to fail " Bluey lied. To her she wasn't lying since what she said was true.

" Oh, well just try your best, don't push yourself too hard. If you ever want to talk come to me ok " Chili said. She was glad that Bluey told her what was going on.

" Ok mum " Bluey said as she went to hug her mum.

Her mum hugged her back. They shared a special moment. Then Bingo came downstairs and saw two of them hugging so she decided to join in.

" What are we doing? " Bingo asked.

" Sharing a special moment " Chili responded.

They later broke the hug and got ready for school.

Bluey and Bingo went to the Bus stop to wait for the bus. They met Lucky and Chucky.

" Hey Bluey " Lucky said as he waved at her.

" Hey lucky " Bluey said as she waved back.

" I can't wait to beat everyone at the science fair " Lucky said feeling extra confident.

" Good luck, you're gonna need it " Bluey said.

Bingo's school bus arrived. Bingo and Chucky entered then waved to their siblings.

Bluey's school bus arrived. Bluey and Lucky entered.

Bluey went to the back and sat with Honey.

" Morning Honey " Bluey said as she took her seat beside Her.

" Hey Bluey " Honey responded. " I'm ready are you? " Honey asked.

" Yeah " Bluey responded.

Not long after Indy joined them.

" Morning guys " Indy said as she approached them.

" Indy, you ready? " Honey asked.

" Yeah, I'm ready " Indy replied.

The students later got to school.They went to the auditorium where they set up their projects and waited for the competition to start.

The judges were The principal, the vice-principal and the chemistry teacher.The judges walked in and prepared to judge the project.

" Indy, let's proceed " Bluey said to Indy.

Indy and Bluey had to work fast. They stealthily went over to the other tables to sabotage the projects. They were having a bit of difficulty.Honey noticed that they were having difficulty so she decided to help. All they needed was a distraction.She decided to make a distraction. She called Indy and Bluey.

" How's it going? " She asked.

" Not good " Bluey replied.

" Yeah, it's so much more harder because everyone is standing with their projects, how are we even supposed to destroy it " Indy added.

" We need a distraction " Bluey said

" Yeah I know, I'm going to make a distraction so get ready " Honey said.

" What kind of distraction? " Indy asked

" I don't know, but I'll figure it out, you guys just get ready " Honey said.

" Ok " Bluey said as she and Indy parted ways.

Honey was desperate, their plan had to go well or else nightmare would do something to Bluey and Indy, she couldn't let that happen.

She ran over to meet Jack.

" Hey Jack " She said to him.

Jack was surprised, the two of them barely talked so why would she want to talk to him." Hey Honey " he responded.

" Uhh, this might sound strange but I need your help with something " she said.

" Umm...ok " he replied.

The two of them walked out of the auditorium.

" Where are we going? " Jack asked.

Honey looked around and made sure no one was there." I'm sorry for this " she said as she brought out a spanner from her bag and used it to hit Jack on the head.

Jack fell unconscious. Honey then made sure he was still alive and she was glad that he was. She then took a deep breath." HELLLLPPPP... SOMEBODY HELP, HEEEELLLLLPPPP " she screamed.

People who were in the auditorium heard her yelling and rushed out.

Bluey and Indy heard it then realized that it was the distraction.Once everyone left Bluey and Indy got to work. They practically destroyed the other students projects but not too much.

Outside everyone was looking at the unconscious kid on the floor.

" what happened to him? " The principal asked.

" I...I came outside then I found him on the floor " Honey replied.

Rusty pushed through the crowd and saw his best friend on the floor. He got on his knees and checked if Jack was still alive. " SOMEONE CALL A NURSE " Rusty yelled.The school nurse came to the scene, she and a teacher carried Jack to the sick bay while Rusty and Honey accompanied her.

" Alright everyone, back to the auditorium " The principal said.

Everyone went back into the auditorium.They didn't notice that their projects were tampered with.

The judges judged the projects. When the students were asked to present it, they were shocked to find out that it didn't work.

Honey labelled her project as Indy's and it was the only one that worked.Bluey told Honey to make another project which she knew would not win and label it as Bluey's project. It was all part of their plan.

" Everyone listen up " The principal said. " We have calculated all the scores and the winner is number 14, Indy. Come up here and get your prize "

Everyone cheered and clapped for her as she took her prize.

" Second place goes to number 18, Bluey " Everyone clapped as she came to receive her prize.

Bluey was nervous but she knew she had to do it.She went to where Indy was standing with her trophy. She snatched it out of her hands and smashed it on the ground and stepped on it with anger.

Everyone was astonished.

" THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY TROPHY, THIS WHOLE THING IS RIGGED " Bluey yelled as she stormed out of the auditorium.

Everyone wondered what was wrong with her." Bluey " Indy said as she went after her.
