Chapter 4: First Day Of Hogwarts

(Cecelia's Pov)

I fluttered my eyes open to the sunrise shinin through the dorm room windows. I sighed and blinked a few times seein it was 7am meanin my first day of school at Hogwarts starts today. I took a deep breath and sighed as I sat up and rubbed my face tiredly.

I yawned and looked around seein the other girls wakin up and getting ready which made me sigh as I hopped out of bed stretchin and hopped out of my pj's and into the school uniform which was a black skirt with a white button up shirt and a black and yellow tie which represented Hufflepuff colors. I slid on the Hufflepuff robe which went down to my calves and slid on my boots. I brushed my hair, put on a beanie and grabbed my books.

I let out Snowflake as she hopped on my shoulder which made me smile as we headed out of the dorms and to the common room. I saw Cedric which made me smile as he looked at me and did the same "Mornin sis. Sleep well?" he asked, I nodded which made him smile "good. Let's get some breakfast, you'll be gettin your schedule today" he said,

I just smiled and nodded as we headed out of the common room and to the Great Hall for breakfast. We walked in already seein so many kids which made my stomach churn anxiously. Cedric rubbed my back which made me smiled as we walked to our table and sat down already seein food scattered around the table.

Me and Cedric grabbed some food as I anxiously ate. Suddenly Snowflake flew off my shoulder which made me confused as I looked at Ced "The owls get everyone's mail" He said, I nodded as I looked seein so many owls drop in with mail for so many kids. Snowflake came back with a letter of mine which made me smile softly as I opened it to see my schedule and how grades work.

Classes:

Charms (Professor: Filius Flitwick) (Third Floor 2E)

Defense Against the Dark Arts (Professor: Mad-Eye Moody) (Second Floor Class 31)

Flying (Instructor: Rolonda Hooch) (Quidditch Field)

Herbology (Professor: Pomona Sprout) (Greenhouse Three)

Potions (Professor: Severus Snape) (Dungeon 5)

Transfigurations (Professor: McGonagall) (Ground-Floor Classroom 1B)

Astronomy (Professor: Aurora Sinistra) (Astronomy Tower)

Ordinary Wizarding Level Grading System:

O - Outstanding (Pass, always continue to N.E.W.T.)

E - Exceeds Expectations (Pass, usually continues to N.E.W.T.)

A - Acceptable (Pass, rarely continues to N.E.W.T)

P - Poor (Fail, may repeat subject)

D - Dreadful (Fail, may not receive O.W.L. credit)

T - Troll (Fail, with distinction. More than one T may mean refusal into other N.E.W.T.s)

I read and nodded "Cool. This seems great" I said, Cedric nodded "you're goin to love the classes sis" he said, I smiled softly and nodded as me and Cedric chatted and ate breakfast.

After breakfast, each kid took off to their classes. Me and Ced had Charms class as we walked up to the third floor and walked in. Cedric greeted the small Professor which made me smile and do the same "Ah you must be Cecelia Diggory. Your brother's talked a lot about you over the years" Professor Flitwick said,

I blushed shyly and brushed a strand of hair behind my ear "O-Oh" I said shyly, Flitwick chuckled "Pleasure to meet you dear" He said, I smiled "Pleasure" I said "Go ahead and sit wherever you like. Class will start shortly" He said, I nodded and sat by Cedric which made him smile and rub my back which made me take a deep breath as kids slowly gather in class.

When the bell rang, the Professor taught class which we got to learn some basic spells which we started with Lumos and Nox a light spell which seemed simple enough, not to mention they were really fun.

(1 Hour Later)

After Charms class was Defense Against the Dark Arts with Professor Mad-Eye Moody. Me and Cedric walked there together as I greeted the pretty intimidatin man since I was only 5'2 so I was very short to most people.

In this class we got to learn spells that protect us against hexes and jinxes and whatnot. Then in Flying class with Madam Hootch we basically got to learn about flying which I know how to do, I'm just not as good doin it like I am with Ice Skatin.

(LUNCH)

After flyin it was lunchtime, we have 3 classes lunch, a half an hour break then 4 classes after then another break then supper which is at 5pm and basically winding down time before bed which is at 9-10pm.

Anyways, me, Cedric and Snowflake headed back in the school and off to the Great Hall for lunch and boy was I hungry. I didn't feel anxious durin the classes because Cedric was there with me the entire time...he was always there makin me smile and laugh and showin me how things work and havin him just by my side made things so much better.

After lunch was Herbology, I got to meet Pomona Sprout who's also head of the Hufflepuff house and she's great, she's really nice. We got learn about many plants, what they do and how they can help us when we're injured and whatnot which was really fun.

In Potions I met Professor Snape who also was pretty intimidatin but we got to learn about the different ingredients for many potions and potions in general because there was so many...they even had truth potions and love potions which sounded like somethin from a tv show or movie but I guess this whole thing seems like a tv show/movie (WALL BREAKING!)

After Potions was Transfiguration with Professor McGonagall where we learn how to transform one thing into another which again was cool and my last class which is Astronomy isn't until Midnight which was amazin because who wouldn't want to learn about the moon, stars, solar system and galaxy? It seemed so fascinatin and fun so basically I was done with school until Midnight.

Cedric had one more class though and I really had nothin to do so I headed up to my dorms to read more about the things I learned today cause why not? I didn't have any homework since it was my first day but I took notes anyways cause it's useful and I talked to Snowflake so, so far so good...

Oh that reminds me I need to tell mum how my first day went. I grabbed a piece of paper and my ink and quill and wrote mum a letter,

Dear Mum,

Hi Mum! Just thought I'd check it to see how things are, I bet it's pretty lonely without me, Ced and dad there huh? But I hope you're doin good. I'm settlin in alright too. I got sorted into Hufflepuff which I didn't think was a big surprise considerin you all are Hufflepuff's.

But the House is so amazin! It's so beautiful and pretty to look at. Anyways, I was pretty anxious yesterday with all the sortin stuff and today was pretty overwhelmin too, but I had Cedric by me all day so he made me feel better so that's good.

The classes are great and the professors are amazin...a few are a bit intimidatin but that's probably because I'm a small girl but still awesome. I have Astronomy as a class which isn't until Midnight and we get to look at the stars and moon and I'm so excited!!! Anyways...I really like it so far...I just fear I'm not gonna be able to make friends...I mean I'm 16 and still hidin behind my big brother...Anyways Cedric is good too and Snowflake. I love you and miss you. See you soon!

I smiled softly and sighed as I put it in an envelope, signed and sealed it. I got up and handed it to Snowflake and opened up the window "Give this to mum yea?" I asked, she cooed as she grabbed it with her talons and flew out the window which made me smile as she flew off in the wind to send my letter to mum.

(A Few Hours Later)

After a while, there was a knock on my door assuming it was Cedric, "Come in" I said, the door opened revealin Cedric which made me smile softly, "hey sis" He said, I smiled "How are you likin classes so far?" he asked sittin on the edge of my bed. I let out a small breath "They're good. Definitely WAY better than Muggle classes so I like them a lot" I said,

Ced chuckled "yea. I get that. Do you like the Professors?" He asked, I smiled and nodded "Yea. Snape and Moody are pretty intimidatin though so" I said and brushed a strand of hair behind my ear. Cedric chuckled "Yea. I can see that" he said, I nodded "I wrote mum a letter to let her know how today went" I said,

Ced nodded "Cool. Supper is soon so just thought I'd let ya know" he said, I smiled softly and nodded "Tomorrow durin lunch. I'll introduce ya to a few people who I know you'll get along with" he said, I smiled shyly and nodded which made him smile as he rubbed my head and headed out of my dorms which made me take a deep breath and get ready for supper...

When it was supper time, me and Cedric walked down to the Great Hall, went to our table and took our seats. Dumbledore announced some things and told the Prefect that students who have Astronomy are allowed to be out of their dorms durin that time so we don't get in trouble which is good.

Supper was good. The food was really good and I basically just talked to Cedric which is what we always do so today was good...and it's all thanks to Cedric for stickin by my side. After supper, I had time to kill before Astrology. I didn't really have any plans so I did some readin before it was time for class essentially.

When it was time for Astronomy, I headed out of my dorms and up to the Astronomy Tower, I saw other students and Professor Sinistra. She greeted us and started to teach us about the moon, stars, the galaxy and so much more. We even got to look through the telescope to see different constellations and Moon/Star signs...it was just amazin and I think this will be my favorite class ever.
