Chapter 13

Lucas, felix and cable came outside of airport..

"lucas.. Atleast walk slowly man.. We already came earlier than planned because of your urge to see your wife.."

Cabel shouted as he followed lucas who is half running and half walking felix walked behind leisurely giggling at thier bickering. Lucas turned towards cabel and sighed.

" you are the one who is so slow.. Why the hell are you shouting at me..? "

lucas asked rising one of his eyebrow.

"okay.. okay.. guys calm down... Let's get going.."

felix interreptued thier convo and took them with him to the office. When they reached thier office.. Lucas suddenly felt uncomfortable.. 'what is this feeling..? I don't know why but I suddenly want to see her..' he thought and rushed out of his office.

"luu..where are you going..? We have so much work left"

cabel shouted from behind.

"I am going home.. I will continue the rest tomorrow"

lucas said as he rushed to his car.' I planned on going home early morning but I don't know why I feel like I have to see her now.. But I know One thing for sure.. I don't like this uneasy feeling ' he thought as he drove to his house. . . . Lily came outside of her cabin and saw felix near the cafeteria since she started  working in  felix company as the  head of dance team when she returned Korea they are working in the same building...

"felix..How come you are here now?"

"oh lily... We came back earlier than planned" felix shrugged.

"what are you doing here at this time..?"

"haah.. Don't ask me anything.. This girls are making more and more trouble.. I left athy alone I will get going.."

"no need aunty.. Lucas can't wait to meet his wife and already fled home" cabel said as walked towards them.

"is that so.. Then I will just stay here" lily said with a bright smile... Felix can see she was satisfied with  lucas's actions and smiled. . . . Lucas opened the door and the lights are off he guessed she was sleeping at this time and walked slowly towards their room.. He opened the door to see athy was sleeping he let out a sigh in relief and went near her bed.. He Sat on the  corner  and looked outside the window.. He slowly turned to see her face and got shocked.. She was crying in her sleep..

' I don't wanna dwell on this memories.. I don't want to remind them again... Please.. Someone.. Help me.. I want to wake up but I can't move my body... Please.. Lily... Felix... Lucas...'

she felt someone caressing her face and  flinched.. She slowly opened her eyes.. To see a pair of red eyes.

"sia...Relax..Breath.. Breath slowly" lucas told her in a panicked  tone .

She was struggling to breath her body is trembling and cold.. He don't know what to do and repeated the same thing again and again she slowly Sat up and he hugged her tight...

"it's okay.. It's okay... Relax.."

he said patting her gently. She buried her face in his chest and cried out loud... 'it's warm... His embrace.. His voice.. Everything make me feel safe...' She slowly calmed down after a while.. He slowly parted from her and wiped her tears..

" are you okay now..?" he asked in a soft voice.

She slowly nodded her head. He reached for the water bottle on the table near the bed and give it to her she slowly took few sips and let out a big sigh.. She looked up at his eyes with teary eyes

" lucas.. Don't leave me.. I am scared.."

She mumbled and tears rolled down her cheek. Lucas felt something pricking his heart seeing her cry.. He wiped her tears and hugged her tight..

"I am not going anywhere.. Did you had a nightmare..?"

he asked caressing her cheek gently. She slowly got up from the bed..

"I feel suffocated here.. Shall we go to the roof top?"

"let's go"

he said putting her cardigan over her shoulder.. They went up to the rooftop and Sat on the sofa she crouched on the sofa and leaned her head on his shoulder her eyes looking at the stars..

" there was something I didn't tell you.. Will you hear it now..?" she asked in a low voice.

"are you okay with telling me..? If you are.. I will.. You don't have to force yourself.."

"no I feel like telling you today.. Actually my biological father is alive but.." she said and let out a sigh..

"  I loved him with my whole heart cause he was my only family left but I later realised he wasn't thinking the same as me.. I always followed him around calling him dad but he never once cared for me.. I thought he was just like that always.. But one day my cousin was brought to our house cause her father went missing .. The man I thought would never smile.. Smiled at her and treated her like she was his real daughter..

Sometimes I feel confused.. Cause it's weird for me.. why he is so cold to me..? Sometimes I feel jealous of her for receiving my father's love which ne never gave me.. Sometimes I cried in the dark.. I often convince myself he was like that because she lost her family.. She is pitiful... Now I think about it.. I look like a fool but at that time I was just a mere five years old girl who wanted her father's love .. I lived like that Until one day i realised what I really meant to him.. It was my sixth birthday as usual he didn't came since it was my mother's death day.. He always lock himself up in the room and pass out  from over drinking.

I waited for him as usual in my room but feel asleep without knowing.. suddenly I felt it hard to breath then... "she stopped talking and her voice trembled... eyes were flooded with tears..

" when I opened my eyes.. he was strangling my neck fully drunk.. Mumbling something 'because of you..' That was the time I realised that  he just didn't ignored me.. he don't want me alive.. I froze from the shock both of us came to realisation of what's going on when lily shouted in anger.. Felix and lily came from London for my birthday.. Lily was my mom's best friend, felix and him were  friends from childhood my mom and dad met because of them.

ever since my mom died.. lily visited me often and showered me with love.. She asked me countless times to come with her but I refused since I stupidly waited for my so called dad to  look at me and talk to me atleast once.. Then when I opened my eyes again.. felix and lily was standing in front of me with a worried expression..

I was in thier house..  When felix asked for adoption he finally get rid of me and I moved to live with lily and felix.. And that's how I ended up becoming thier daughter. So I always felt like I  bothering  them but they were always kind and pampered me like thier own daughter.. "

She said looking down with a sad smile.. Lucas was beyond shocked to respond and froze at the spot.. She turned towards realising he was not saying anything to see him sitting thier like a stone fuming in  anger.

'what the.... Is he even human..? This scumbag didn't deserve you as his daughter.. Is this why she is always saying she don't want to bother others..  And She is happy that she have her own daughter now..? Cause she went through something like this at such a young age.. Now I can understand why.. '

" lucas..? "

she nudged him which made him came back to his senses.

" huh..?"

"what are thinking about..?"

"how to kill that scumbag when I meet him." he said and she giggled.

" it's okay I forgot about everything long time ago.. that why I stopped using the word  dad  and didn't even call felix dad..Today... I saw him after so many years.. May be that's why I started getting back my childhood memories.. Leading me to  remind that worst night  " she mumbled.

" yeah just forget everything.." he said caressing her face.

" don't tell lily what happened today.. she will be worried " she said and he hummed in response.

" wait.. Aren't you supposed to come later.. How come you are already  here..? " she asked suddenly realising it and  sitting straight  turning towards him.

" that.. Our work ended  quickly so we just came back "lucas shrugged.

" really..? did it go well..? How did you did..? "

" of course.. Prefect.. " he said with a proud smirk and she giggled.

" but I am happy  that you came on the right time.. I really don't wanted to remember them but can't able to do anything to stop them ... you saved me today "she said and give him a bright smile..

'phew .. Finally.. she is smiling..' he thought and smiled back. He pulled her towards him  and made her sit on his lap and hugged her tight  with thier foreheads leaned on each other's

" sia.. "

" hmm..? "

" from now on.. don't cry.. I really hate it when you cry.. If he appears in front of you again just call me..OK..?"

"pfft... why.. So that you can kill him like you said..?" she asked giggling

"yep" he said nonchalantly and athy hit his shoulder.

"ouch.. what was that for..? "

"you said you will  always Stay with me always.."

"of course I will"

"if you kill him and go to jail I will be alone.. why did you have to waste your days in jail for him..?let's just leave it.."

she said pouting he chuckled and flicked her forehead.

"you are too naive.. There so many ways to kill someone without getting caught"he said with a smirk. Athy looked at him wide eyed confused whether he is joking or serious.

"wow..Now I feel like I married a mafia boss not a singer ..tell me the truth.. did you worked in mafia before..?"

"pfft.. No idiot.. But I wasn't kidding when I said I would kill him.. I never get mad at  anyone this much before.. I really hate him to the core and wanna kill him for doing something like that to you.." he said in a mad tone..

Athy stared at  him  for a while surprised  cause this  was her first time seeing him that furious and smiled  as she got happy that he is mad for her  she giggled and give him a peck on his cheek ..

" aww.. My hubby is so hot when he is mad "

" I am serious here " he said

" I am also serious .. I don't want to get involved with him .. I wish I don't see him anymore that's all.. when I was younger I felt angry that why did he treat me that way..? I did nothing wrong  until I saw videos of mom and him together in lily's house when I was seven.. That's when I realised why he hated me so much... I was the reason he lost his wife.. He looked like a totally different person in that videos.. his gaze at mom was filled with love.. They were such a dazzling couple.. At that day I felt guilty.. If I didn't born they would have lived Happily till now.. Maybe that's why  he was so mad at me and wanted me to disappear .. One will tell or act out thier true emotions while being drunk.. That was how he was that day .. He was furious at me for taking his wife away from him.. "

she said with a sad smile and lucas sighed in frustration.

" what are you..?  An Angel descended from heaven..? Why the hell are you blaming yourself for everything happens in your life..? none of them is your fault.. You wasn't the one decided to born.. Stop blaming yourself for everything.." he said and sighed.

"hmm.. I know... But I can't help thinking like that sometimes.." she told him.. He stared at her for sometime.

"well.. That was true though... Even if we aren't the reason... sometimes we can't help these kind of thoughts from popping out."

he said leaning back on the sofa with athy in his lap and patted her head.

"hmm.. Indeed" she said slowly nodding her head ..

"pfft.. It's really uncanny that our childhood is similar.."

"huh.." she asked tilting her head confused.

"since you told me Yours.. I will tell you  Mine.."

"when I was four... my mom left me in the street  which I never went to before and told me she  would come back but never did.. I  don't know why she did that at that time.. I waited for her all night and slept on the corner of the street sitting.. when I opened my eyes it was already  the next day but she didn't came.. a nun  who runs an orphanage took   pity on  me and let me stay there.. I grew up there... That's where I meet cabel.. He was the reason I can able to live without any  worries.. at that age I easily forget things and just happily played with him.. When I grow old enough to understand things.. I found out my mom was a daughter of a rich businessman  and she got pregnant with me while dating the son of her father's friend.

While She was pregnant with me that so called father of mine died in an accident.. She was so afraid to confront her father and hide in her friend 's house until I was born.. She hide me in her friend' s house as long as she can when her dad arranged marraige for her she get rid of me and started a new life.. But two years ago I saw that aunt and she  told me she died from sickness... but I didn't felt anything... it was just a news to me...she even asked me to attend her funeral.. I was dumbfounded how can she ask me to attend .. And at last I didn't  attended  it... to tell you the truth I felt glad that I forgot how she looked.. So I don't wanted to voluntarily go and remember her face  or anything related to her.. Pfft.. I sounds like an asshole aren't I..? " he said and turned his gaze down to saw  athy crying.. He wiped her tears..

" stop crying already.. " he said pinching her cheek .

"no you aren't. .. That aunty is really evil.. How could she do that to you..? I really really  hate her.." she said sniffling

" pfft... Yeah she is.. now.. Stop crying.."

he said wiping her tears chuckling  at how she is swearing cutely for him..

" it feels unrealistic don't you think..? We  have a similar childhood  "he said and smiled.

'how can he  smile saying  something like this..? He had a hard life than me.. Whenever I hear something like this  I felt  thankful that  I have lily and felix.. why did she did that to him..?, he don't deserve to live like that ... I will try my best to keep  lucas and our daughter happy' she thought and smiled looking up at him  ..

" it reminds me that there are so many  people out  there who have much miserable lives than us.. But like you said it's really weird don't you think..? Two children unwanted by thier parents got together because of thier child and  gonna become a parent themselves..pfft.. It's amusing how our fate is intertwined  "  she said and chuckled.

" yeah..  But  I feel like I am Not that unlucky since I have you now.. "

lucas said smiled  at her. athy got surprised hearing that  and  blushed. .

" how did you feel when you find all these things..? "

" hmm..how I feel...? Actually I didn't felt anything after that.. I found these out when that aunt visited me once when I was eleven years old.. I accidentally heard all this when i excitedly ran towards the head nun's room hearing I have a visitor . The aunty who raised me until I was four was her best friend.. she told everything to the head nun and asked her to take good care of me.. That day I badly wished I should not have heard all of them.. I foolishly waited for her and believed  she will come one day and take me home but that day.. I felt like I lost all that emotions... after that day I didn't felt excited, sad, mad or anything  I just lived like that.. "

He said and she hugged him tightly and he smiled hugging her back .. He can felt her tears drenching his shirt and sighed.

" don't worry.. I am really okay  now.. You know what.. I even  started  feeling those lost emotions again  now  .. "

he said patting her back.. She parted from the hug and stared  at him with a happy face

" really...? Thank God.."she beamed with delight..

" That's great.. I  really got  worried hearing that .." she sighed in relief. He chuckled at her sudden change in mood.

" but how..? "she asked tilting her head.

" how else.. Because of you... "

he said pinching her cheek playfully.. Her whole face  turned red after hearing what he said.  ' I don't know how I was the reason you are feeling emotions  again but I am glad I can help you lessen your worries..' she thought and smiled happily.

" then how  did you get interested in music..? "

" haah... that.. When I grew up in orphanage... me and cabel used to sneek out at nights.. I don't find  that  fun but cabel  does so I just accompanied him.. One day we saw a man with long white hair singing on the street.. No one listened to his song but he sang with all his heart..

That was the first time I got intrigued on a thing  after that day. . I asked him why he is singing so sincerely when no one is listening.. He said he is doing that because it made him feel Happy doing what he wants to do..I suddenly got curious about happiness   which I forget how it feel long ago.. So I give it a try.. When I first tried to sing wierldy it felt nice.. Then I started visiting him often and he teached me so many things .. Then I developed interest in music and started learning musical instruments and composing new tunes.. Then to writing lyrics and singing than as songs that was the first time after so long I found something interesting.. "

" wow.. That's an interesting story.. Glad you found your passion.. Where is that uncle now..? "

" who knows..? he was a crazy man...he always do whatever he wants.. Maybe he was still singing in the street corner.. Who knows in which country..? "

" huh..? "

" yeah.. He only stayed here for three years.. When I sang my first song.. I ran towards the place he usually sit to tell  Him The news but he was not there.. Then I can't find him anywhere.. One day  after a year when my songs become a big  hit I got a letter from Him Saying he was proud  of me that was the only  sentence written in that I checked the sender address and they told me He already left.. He was such a weirdo.."

"wow.. Like Master like student I think." athy mumbled

"I can hear that" he said raising one eyebrow and she giggled.

"let's go back.. You must be tired from the trip..I bothered you so much as soon as you came back.. aren't I..?" she said .

"stop it already before I lash out at you.. Always saying.. sorry for  bothering you.. Sorry for  disturbing  you.. Now you are the one saying sorry the most.. Let's go back.. You should sleep some More.."

he nagged her and suddenly  carried her in princess style..

"wahh.. What are you doing..?"  she said struggling I release herself but he held her tight.

"shh.. Just stay still and sleep.."

he said and carried her .. when he reached down the stairs she was already asleep.. 'I know it.. She always fell asleep way too fast' he thought and smiled. He lied her  down on the  bed and tugged her inside the bed sheet.. 'I wish  you will have good dreams this time..' he thought.
