Chapter 9

I went to sleep after getting tired from overthinking.. I don't want to stress my baby along with me so I decided to sleep.. I heard lily's voice and she nudged me to wake me up.. I Sat up stretched my hands and smiled at her..

"good morning.."

"this is afternoon athy.. Get ready.. quick we have to be at the clinic in half an hour.. God!! I spoiled you so much.. How are you going to raise a baby at this rate.."

lily kept nagging while I went towards my wardrobe searching for a dress for me to wear..

I can’t believe I’m already in my fourth month. Lily said a small bump would start showing by now and told me not to wear tight clothes… but my belly hasn’t changed at all.

I slowly got up and took a shower , lily  gave me brunch and then dragged me to the clinic.. While we were on our way.. Felix called us and lily got pissed.. Guess he was at fault again..

She gave him an earfull and rushed to the clinic. When we reached the clinic I  got excited.. I want to know everything about my baby.. The gynaecologist was lily's friend anna aunty. At first i was like  God!! why it had to be her..? She will torment me with her never ending questions..

That's what I thought.. But to my surprise she didn't ask me anything I guess lily told her something in advance.

She did an ultrasound scan and when I saw my baby on the monitor..

I felt an unexplainable feeling.. I can't contain my happiness or explain how. Happy I was in words... My baby.. She told me it might be a girl but we can't be sure .. And I teared up looking at the ultrasound image of her I am holding.. My baby.. Is this how mom felt when she had me...?

Did she love me just like how I love my baby  now..? Is that why she chose me over herself...? I... I love you.. I started loving you the moment I heard I have you inside me .. I.. I will try my best to be a good mom to you.. I wish you born healthy and grew up happily.. I will give you everything you desire...i promise..' Tears kept rolling down her cheeks.. Lily and anna looked at her with kind eyes. Lily hugged her back .

"I can't believe my baby girl is gonna be a mother.. Time flies so fast.. When did you grow up so Much..? " she said crying..

"thank you for everything lily..i love you So much.. Even if I become a mother I am still Your daughter.. Aren't I?"

I asked parting from the hug  , she nodded her head happily.

"yes.. Even if you grow old.. you are forever my little daughter athy.."

she said and I kissed her cheek and hugged her tight. I can't explain how I always feel thankful for having you  lily.. Lily got a call it was from felix and she sighed before answering.. She went out of the room and I slowly got Up and walked outside giggling.. they still bicker like newly married couples...Married..?

" will you marry me..?".

Suddenly I thought about him.. When he sincerely asked me to marry him... I was so happy.. I suddenly miss him..

"sia.."

Huh..? Am I hallucinating his voice now..? But when he called me sia in a sweet tone I felt like melting.. How did he think of calling me sia..? So nice..

"sia.."

Huh..? It feels too real to be hallucination.. I turned back to see him standing there gently looking at me. Is he really there..? or my hallucination got extreme and projecting his image now..?

He looked at me smiling .. I saw a person passing by and accidentally hit his shoulder and asked sorry.. That means.. He is real.. I couldn't control my happiness and ran towards him.

He got surprised

"slow down don't run..."

He said in a worried tone stretching his hands out like he is signalling me to stop, I ran towards him and hugged him tight .. . .

When I went to felix's office in the morning he was bickering with his wife as usual .. Are they at it again..? Felix wanted lily to help him out in selecting the members of the new idol group.. Since she was a dance teacher.. She can help out selecting the ones who can dance well.. He noticed me and waved his hand..

"I see.. okay I will Bring lucas with me.."

he said and ended the call..where he is taking me to..?

"lucas you came at the right time.. Let's go"

he just said that and dragged me with him.. We reached a clinic..

" where are we..?"

but as soon as I saw the name board it was a gynaecology clinic..

"is sia alright..?" I asked him.

'sia..? Is that his pet name for athy..? I don't know if Lucas was good at giving names...' felix thought and grinned.

"don't worry.. she was here for a normal checkup..? Don't you want to know how your child is doing ..? Get off.. I dragged you with me cause lily asked me to.. Let's go"

We entered the clinic, we saw lily was already out standing in the corridor but sia was not with her and felix went to her. I wanted to see her so I walked around searching for her.. Then I found her standing in the corridor .. She was holding something in her hand and looked at it happily smiling.. Pfft.. She looks so cute. What is she looking at.. That made her this happy..?

it felt good to see her truly happy like that cause most of the time even though she is smiling I find she was sad inside . I called her name but she was deep In her own thoughts.. when I called her again someone hit my shoulder and apologised for running past me In a rush.. Her eyes widened for a moment, then she ran towards me.. Why is  she running like this when she is..

"slow down.. don't run.."

I told her I was worried.. What if she trips and falls again..? She is really so careless...

My heart skipped a beat when she suddenly hugged me tight.. It was so sudden but it was warm.. I slowly hugged her back.

" Why are you running like a wild thing..? You are so careless "

he told her and she parted from him.

"don't worry.. I will be careful From now on. I just got so Happy when you showed up the moment I thought of you..pfft.. How did you suddenly pop out like this..? Are you a magician?"

sha said beaming happily.

" are you okay..? What did the doc say..?"He asked.

(well.. Let's just imagine she was holding a ultrasound image in her hand 😉😁)

she showed the ultrasound photograph of their baby.. His eyes widened in surprise.. He took it from her and looked at it with a small Smile...

"Is the baby ok ..?"

he asked in a low voice still Looking at the photo.

" Yeah , it's growing up well and the doctor said it might be a girl baby but we can't be sure "

she said giggling at how he is looking at the photo with curious eyes like a child. He looked Up at her Wide eyed and smiled brightly. She felt happy looking at him smiling like this..

'I Wish you will always smile Like this and be happy lucas..'

she thought and smiled back. He hugged her gently like He was holding something fragile which will break if he holds it hard.

"thanks.. Sia.. " he said in a soft voice.

'thanks for having this baby and not aborting her... If I have to say anything about how I felt when I heard you were pregnant.. First.. I was worried how you would feel and second I hoped that the child would be born and see this world and I wanted it to live with you happily .. Not like me..'

he thought and hugged her a bit tight. She smiled happily and hugged him back.

"pfft.. Now that you started saying thank you I feel relieved.. You always say sorry.. so it's nice haring thanks instead.." she said and giggled.

When Lily and felix walked towards them. They saw lucas holding on a photo and them standing there hugging . They stopped on  their way and smiled looking at them.

" when did our daughter grow up so much..? She is gonna get married now.. And I am gonna become grandpa.. Haah.. I wish I could once again play with my little daughter "

Felix said in a sad tone and lily patted his back smiling.

"oh my.. Is he her husband..?"

anna asked as she walked towards lily, felix looked at her confused.. And lily winked at him he understood that lily told Her like this and smiled at her.

"he is so handsome even from the side view..kyaa.. They look so good together.."

she said looking at them With heart eyes.. Lily and felix giggled.

"lily did you buy Everything..?" anna asked her.

"oh.. I Forgot.. Felix let's go and buy athy's medicines."

lily said and they went to the pharmacy.. Anna walked towards them.

"ahem.."

they parted hearing anna's voice and lucas looked at her confused.

"won't you introduce me to Your husband athy dear..?"

athy grabbed on to the situation fast' so, this is what lily told her huh..? No wonder she didn't shoot me any questions earlier.'

she thought and clung to his arm smiling at her. Lucas looked at her confused.. She gave him a 'help me out' look and he just stood there silently.

"lucas.. This is Dr. Anna aunty, Lily's Friend"

She told him and lucas finally understood what was going on and bowed a hello to her.

"hello.. I am lucas.. nice to meet you." he told her and She smiled at him.

" nice to meet you lucas.. I am anna athy's aunt.." she said and smiled at him.

"you got a handsome husband athy.. I wish you two happiness.." she said smiling.

"thanks aunty" athy said smiling back.

"Lucas.. please take care of her well.." she said patting her head and she hugged her smiling. Lucas nodded a yes.

"be careful dear.. I am busy.. I will get going guys.. take care. "

She said and walked away.. Athy waved her bye and turned towards lucas.

" why are you here..?"

"I came with felix.. He was with lily.. Let's go"

he said and grabbed her taking her with him.they saw lily and felix coming back from the pharmacy.

"we are done here.. Let's go".  lily said and they followed her.

"lucas did Felix tell you everything..?" lily asked.

"about what..? he didn't tell me anything"lucas asked tilting his head.

" I know it.. " lily said and sighed.. Felix smiled at her sheepishly.

" you told felix you don't have to call anyone other than cabel to invite you for the wedding right? "

" yeah I did.. "

" it's the same with us.. So let's do an intimate wedding and it's in two days.." she said and they looked at her wide eyed.

"what..? She said she agreed to your proposal .. and what's more to it ..? We should do the wedding as soon as possible since she needs to be more careful In the future." lily said and stared at them.

Both of them slowly nodded their head as okay and athy got on lucas's car and they followed felix and lily. Their ride was silent.

" are you OK with this...? "athy asked as usual first to break the silence.

" I am okay.. I even felt relieved to have an intimate wedding since there won't be so many people.. What about you..? "

" pfft .. You really are an introvert aren't you..? I am also okay with that.. But i was just surprised cause it felt so sudden..now I am okay .." she said and smiled at him.

they reached a boutique and saw cabel and helena already waiting for them..

" lily already planned everything out huh..? "athy said looking at helly.

" it seems like that.. Let's go.. "

lucas said and helped athy get off the car.. They went shopping and Athy tried out her gown and lucas with his suit.. Lily and felix went to order wedding rings.. And do the rest of the work..

" athy.. You look So gorgeous in this.. I bet lucas will faint from how beautiful you are.. Man.. He is lucky to have such a pretty wife.. Let's get your heels and then.."

helly started listing out so many things and athy felt like fainting again just by hearing them. They went shopping until evening.. Lucas and cabel left them as soon as they decided on the suit saying they have something important to do. Athy was exhausted from all the shopping. They went to the coffee shop to rest . She looked outside through the glass with a sleepy face.

"are you tired..?"

she heard lucas's voice and turned to see him staring at her standing beside her seat. She gave a tired smile.

"yep.. Exhausted.."

she said in a low tone.

"let's go .. I will drop you "

he said stretching out his hand she grabbed it and got up slowly.. His other hand was overflowing with Shopping bags.

"we will get going... go back safe guys.. Bye"

he said, cable and helly waved them bye. they walked out of the cafe and lucas drove athy to her home . She fell asleep during their ride.. When they reached her house.. Lucas carried her and went to the door.. He struggled to put on the password carrying her but managed to open it. As soon the door opened blackey ran towards them. But stopped when lucas told him to .

He placed her on her bed and tucked her inside the bed sheet. He went outside and blackey followed him..

"stay here.. Don't follow me.."

he said patting its head. And it obeyed him.. And stood there waging its tail looking at him opening his car door.

He went and took all the bags and placed them on the table. He fed blackey and played with him for some time and Sat beside her bed. Her bedroom was covered by big glass walls on three sides and the ceiling .

'she got a nice view from here.. But is it safe living here alone..?' he thought.

He turned towards her and smiled looking at her sleeping peacefully. 'she looks  like a child while sleeping .. So cute..' he pinched her cheek and chuckled.. He took out the ultrasound image of their baby from his pant pocket and looked at it .

'I don't know why but I have this feeling that you will look like your mom.. I want you to be healthy and live happily ... I will protect you two .. 'he thought and smiled.

Athy woke up ' am I in my bed now.. I guess I fell asleep.. Lu.. She thought and when she turned around she saw lucas sitting on the side of her bed looking at the ultrasound image  and smiled happily... she slowly Sat down. Lucas saw her .

"you wake up..? "

"hmm.." she said and leaned on his shoulder and nudged her face finding the perfect position to rest her head.she looked down at the photo and smiled.

"How did you feel about having a child When You came to know I am pregnant.. That day.. you only asked me.. But didn't say how you felt so I was curious" she asked him.

"when she told me you are pregnant .. I was so shocked.. Then I was worried about how you will react.. If you ask how I felt about being a dad .. I really don't know.. Even now.. I am worried .."

he said still staring at the photo.she turned her and looked up at him still her face Placed on his shoulder.

" what are you worried about? "

" what if I can't be a good father..? I feel like I am not good enough to have a family.. Even though you are always saying you are okay... I feel bad.. I sometimes feel like.. It will be better if you will be with someone who knows how to Love but at the same time I want to have a family.. Pfft.. I sound crazy right? "

he said looking up and staring at the sea in the distance through the glass window.

She listened to him quietly. She Sat straight and cupped his face.

" You deserve it .. Why do you think you don't deserve to have a family..? You don't know anything about love because you didn't have anyone to Show it right..? Then try to do it from now on ... I think You can Find out the answer for your questions That way... And I am sure you will Definitely be a good daddy to our baby "

she said and smiled at him.

" huh..? how are you so sure..? "

he asked her raising  one of his eyebrow . She slowly let go of his face and looked down with a sad smile. he felt she was sad about something..

" I just know.. "

she said and looked up at him smiling. He hugged her... he knew there was something tormenting her but didn't ask her in detail..decided to wait until she told everything herself. He closed his eyes leaning his face on her shoulder

'can I really be able to be a good husband and father..?' he thought and sighed.

She patted his back gently to calm him Down..

'It feels so good.. She is really good at pampering isn't she..? I am sure she will be a good mother. Her patting was so gentle and warm.. I feel calm.. I want to pat you two the same way as you are doing to me... I will try it..' he thought while snuggling his face on her neck finding a comfortable position and buried his face on her neck . She giggled at the tickling sensation and gently patted him . After Sometime athy looked down at him cause he was not moving at all..

' is he sleeping..? He Must be tired from All the work Today'

She thought grinning and slowly laid him down on bed and covered him in a  bedsheet..she caressed his black silky smooth locks..

' he was so pretty even when he was sleeping.. I hope our daughter will look like him..pfft.. I want to see what Lucas would look like if he was a girl..' She thought and giggled. She lay down beside him and slept peacefully..
