Chapter 18
05:10, 24 March 2015Third Person POV
This is all my fault.
Tear continuously tumble down her cheeks. Ichiru's hand became colder every second indicating his soul was no longer in that body. Sara clenched his hand harder, inserting more of her energy into the hollow body; hoping to awaken Ichiru. She didn't want to believe he was already dead. In fact, she was still convinced that she still had a chance to heal her brother.
.
Toga ran to catch up to Sara. He knew something had gone very wrong to have the Pure blood princess run like that. It was almost as if she teleported in that split second he blinked. When he saw a strange yet familiar crimson light he ran straight to it. Chocolate brown hair drifted in the air following the wind's path. He immediately knew he had found her.
"Sara!"
She flinched, but didn't stop what she was doing. Judging by the red light, Toga knew she was putting her own energy into Ichiru. But Ichiru's scent was no longer there.
Toga knew he needed to stop her. Stop her from giving her energy away before she herself loses life source to join her brother. Ichiru wouldn't want that. Toga walked slowly and cautiously towards Sara as if he was trying to tame a aggressive beast; knowing she would be angry if someone would to interrupt her.
"Sara. I need you to stop giving your energy away. Ichiru is no longer there."
"No!"
Tears streamed down from her eyes as she spoke.
"Ichiru-nii is still there! He just needs to be healed before it's too late. Don't you dare come any closer to stop me!"
Toga was overwhelmed by the substance that radiated from Sara as she speaks. Power. But she needs to stop. Or else consequences would be big.
"Sara. Please. He's not there anymor-"
"No! Stay away."
A strong forced forced Toga yards away from Sara. Anger. Pain. But most of all, sadness. All were felt when that force blew Toga away. Those were not his emotions. Those were hers. All those years of suffering formed a large hole in her heart. And the fact Ichiru left the world made that hole bigger.
.
Zero rushed towards the place where he last saw Ichiru. He knew something had gone wrong. He couldn't sense Ichiru anymore. Being twins allowed them to be able to sense each other's well-being. But that connection was gone. He couln't feel Ichiru's emotions. He couldn't sense his brother anymore. That could only mean one thing.
"Ichiru don't you dare leave this world."
He sprinted towards the place and saw a dull red light.
Sara.
Sara's hand held onto Ichiru's limp hand tightly. Zero knows that Sara was trying to save Ichiru. But seeing ichiru like that, he knew his brother went to heaven.
Rest in Peace, brother.
Now, he needs to save Sara before she loses her life source as well.
He wen up to Sara and hugged her. He placed his hands on Sara's cold ones and forcefully tried to release her grip. However, that only made her hold on tighter.
"Zero-nii! What are you doing?! Let me go! If I release my grip, my energy would be wasted and Ichiru-nii won't be healed! Zero-nii, stop it! Please!"
The wet tears landed onto Zero's hands and broke his heart even more. He didn't want Sara to be sad. But he wants her to know the truth. That their bother was no longer there.
"Sara. I know it's hard to believe but Ichiru is not here anymore. He's up there. He's with mom. With dad."
Hearing Zero's words Sara released her tight grip onto Ichiru's hand, though still holding onto it. She went still. Like a doll.
Zero untangled her fingers from Ichiru's hand. So slowly and delicately that it was as if if he didn't do that, she would break apart. He tucked his arm under her legs and lifted her up. Sara leaned against Zero's chest and placed her head at the crook of Zero's neck. She then wrapped her arms around Zero and sobbed silently. Zero held onto her tightly. Grieving his lost with his beloved sister of his dearest twin brother.
"Zero-nii. Please don't leave me."
She said quietly. So quiet that if Zero wasn't a vampire hunter and has some vampire blood flowing in his veins like other vampire hunters, he wouldn't be able to hear it.
Zero silently made a vow.
A vow to protect his sister at all times. Even by the means that he would lose her forever.
.
.
.
A week had gone by since that night. It was like hell for Sara. Every day, she would wake up by the disturbance of nightmares and she lost the fight against depression. She had stopped drinking blood, secretly though. Especially from Kaname. The two had not lived with each other for three weeks now. Sara had requested to have her own room and even though Kaname would always come into her room and stayed with her until she falls asleep, Kaname had been busy from the work of trying to find the main culprit behind the attack.
It wasn't until three days ago that Sara had completely lost her appetite and the means to get out of her room. The night class, although still aware of her relationship with the vampire hunters, were extremely worried about the Pure blooded princess. Every night Takuma would try and convince Sara to come join them in class but would fail miserable. Why may you ask? Zero had been avoiding her. Sara knows Zero was trying his best to avoid her. That offended her very much. She needed Zero. She needed him so bad that when she knew Zero didn't want to see her, hell broke out. Sara's vigorous powers went out of control due to her weak state that if it wasn't for Kaname, half of the Moon Dormitory would have been destroyed. Kaname soon realized she hadn't been drinking blood and force her to drink some of his own.
She soon fell asleep in Kaname's arms after being exhausted from the immense release of power. Kaname placed her in his room which was directly opposite of his. Her powers have left her room in a inhabitable state.

.
Zero laid on the stack of hay next to Lily. Seeing Sara's condition worsening every day was killing him inside-out. But what he was told was even more devastating.
"I thought you said you'll leave us alone! I did what you told me to do!"
He chuckled. The sound of his voice contained humor. But it wasn't the humor that send chills down Zero's spine. It was the cruelty and evil.
"Leave you alone? Hah! I never said it was a promise neither did i say I would leave all of you alone. I just simply came to tell him that I am in fact alive and well and to get the power I deserve."
He cackled. There was nothing but pure evil in it.
"Ah. Sweet Sara. I am amazed at her growth into a beautiful. Desirable. Young Lady. What a waste to not love such a treasure, brother."
Rido faced the full moon that held a tint of crimson. Reflecting one of his eyes.
He giggled again.
"But if it wasn't for you, I don't think the Blue Rose would be mature enough so quickly. Her developement had went beyond my expectations. And when I obtain her power, i can finally get Juri."
Zero snarled.
"Juri? Kuran Rido, are you insane? Kuran Juri has already died! You can't get her."
Rido faced Zero amused.
"Oh? Did you not know that when dear Juri died, she gave her life power to their daughter Yuuki. Now you can say Yuuki is actually Juri herself but in a different body. They even look the same."
The corner of Rido's lips lifted.
"Now I only need to get the Blue Rose in my hands to get rid of that bastard Ancestor."
Blue Rose. That was the name that intrigued Zero the most. He had heard about it before. In fact he had read it.
"Blue Rose? As in Blue Rose Princess? That legend doesn't even exist! And even if it does, that girl you're looking for is not here in Cross Academy so I suggest you to get your ass out of this bloody school. No. Out of this BLOODY COUNTRY!"
Zero pointed his gun at Rido. The Bloody Rose shone radiantly under the moon light. It was as if it reflected its owner's emotions that the root-like sculputre with the sculpted leaves which was entwined around the gun sowly crept up Zero's hand and glowed a lighter crimson.
Rido flinched. He took a step away from the gun.
"Now now Zero, you wouldn't want to get me killed with that gun or else the Vampire Council would have your head off."
Zero dropped his hand down so that the gun pointed towards the ground. Even though he did that, the tight grip he had around the gun didn't soften any bit.
"Zero. I am sure you noticed one of the vampire in your school possessed something different. Her abilities allowed her to do things normal vampires cannot and her power well surpassed all of the other supernaturals, including myself. Even though she never did much to gain attention nor did she really showed her true powers or intelligence, her presence alone screamed power and no one can take their eyes off her. She is the most beautiful being on this planet and you know her very well."
Zero's eyes widen. He didn't want to admit but whatever Rido had described, he had described this girl very well. There is only one person that appeared in his mind in that very moment.
"Sara."
