Chapter 17
02:48, 23 November 2014Third Person's POV
Sara's eyes widened.
Ya- Yagari Toga. YAGARI TOGA?!
Shock was written all over Sara's face when Toga turned his attention to Sara.
"Kiriyu Sara. I'd like a word with you."
All the Night Class students repeatedly said Sara's name again and again and started to have conversations in between themselves.
"Kiriyu? As in the Kiriyu twins?"
"That's her last name? Could she have any relationship to the Kiriyu brothers?"
"Shocking!! Who knew a Pure blood such as herself shared the last name with the famous hunters."
The murmured words of "Disgrace", "Shameful" and "Liar" came to Sara's ears when she walked past the students.
Sara. Ignore them.
Thanks Shuu.
But how can she just ignore the fact that Kaname knows now?
Kaname continued to stare at Sara's shadow as she walked out of the classroom.
Sara. Why didn't you tell me? How dare you betray our race? Betray me? I'm disappointed.

Sara's POV
Once I stepped out the classroom, Yagari pulled me inside another classroom that was furthest away from the classroom we were in. He forced me to sit on a chair before pulling out his gun to point it towards me. I could feel the negativity the gun has for me even though it wasn't even on my head yet, but I have to make him know that I am not scared of him. I glared at him. Letting out my pure blooded aura out full on. He shuddered; dropping his arm to his side.
"The Association knows you killed that vampire. If any news is spread to the Vampire Council, we won't do anything to help; even if you are the daughter of the deceased hunters."
I nodded. I knew this already. I know what the consequences may be especially because I did one of the greatest sins in the vampire society: Killing a Pure Blood.
"What are trying to tell me? I assume that you're not just giving me useless information that I already knew. "
He sighed.
"The Association decided to keep it a secret. Only a few people knows about this so you don't need to worry about traitors."
"Do those few people include them?"
He nodded.
"Zero and Ichiru were the first to be informed. I only learned this from them."
I looked down.
"I see. Thank you Yagari. Please help and give my thanks to those who knew."
I faced him again to find him awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. I looked at him with a face that said "Anything else?"
"Uh... I'm sorry for my past attitude. I trust you now."
I smiled. At least I don't need to worry about him mistreating me anymore.
"I'm glad you changed you're mind. From now on your my teacher and comrade."
I gave him a hand to shake; he returned.
"I'll go back to class then."
I was about to leave when he called again.
"Sara! There's also one more thing."
I looked at him confused. What else does he want to say?
Sara. I have a very bad feeling something bad is going to happen really soon. And I mean Really Bad.
Do you know what that bad feeling is?
I don't know. But I can sense a very strong aura somewhere not far from here. It's not as big as yours but it is definitely bigger than Kuran Kaname's. Stay alert.
I did a mental nod to Shuu. I wonder what that bad feeling is. But I'll have to save that for later.
"What is it Yagari?"
He looked hesitant to speak but continued anyways.
"After you disappeared, I went and did some research on you. The scene you've left behind had left some deep depressions on the ground, which lead me to one of the vampire legends I read about when I was a kid."
I slowly walked back to him to listen as he speaks.
"And my research on you lead to a conclusion of what you really are."
The 'what' interested me even more. A long time ago, I was told by one of the nicer servants that I am not just a Pure blood vampire. But I don't remember what she said except the words of: "Sara-sama, you must keep your true identity in secret. What you are is something that shouldn't really have existed in the world and those who knows would try absolutely everything to get hold of you and your powers."
I returned my thoughts back on Yagari. He looked deeply into my eyes as if he was trying to dissect my brain and look into every bit of it.
"Sara. You are-"
The door swung open and hit the wall hard. Yuuki ran in, panting.
"Ya- Yagari sensei... The-... The school is being attacked by level E's."
Yagari and I stood up almost simultaneously.
"WHAT?!"
I walked towards Yuuki.
"Yuuki. What about the day class students?"
"They have been evacuated underground with half of the Night Class and some of the professors standing in and outside of the rooms to protect them."
"Ok. Great. What about the other half?"
"They have separated into smaller groups to fight off the Level E's."
"And Kaname?"
"I...I don't know, sempai."
I ticked my tongue. If he has disappeared, that means he went to look for the mastermind of the group. I already have one person in mind. I turned back to Yagari.
"Yagari. Lets go and look for the head."
.
.
.
The Level E turned in ash as I pulled out my arm. I flung it to get rid of the foul-smelling blood of the numerous ex-humans I had killed on my way towards what Shuu and I felt as the "powerful source".
"Ugh. Guess I would get sick with all this blood before even getting to him."
"You seem to already know who is the mastermind behind all this."
Yagari dropped the dying Level E on the floor to leave it turn in ash itself and walked towards me to join the hunt again.
"Yeah. It's not hard to guess."
A wind blew a familiar smell to my nose and immediately caused panic all over me: Ichiru's blood.
I ran with full vampire speed to the scent and caught the falling Ichiru. He was covered in blood. His blood. I tried to press the point where the blood comes out and heal it. I put my powers into the wound but nothing happened. My sight became blurry with my tears.
"Why? Why wouldn't it heal? Heal. Heal! Dammit!"
I felt a hand brushing the tear drops away. Ichiru looked with a weak smile on his lips. Even though he was in such state, he could still manage to pull out a smile. But my tears would only continue to roll down my cheeks however much I wiped it. They wouldn't stop. I put all my energy to try and close the wound.
"Please heal. Please. Don't leave me. Onii-chan. Please. Heal!"
More tears swarmed out of my eyes. Ichiru placed a hand on my hands. His gentle smile never left his lips.
"Sara. It's fine. You've done enough."
"No! You haven't healed yet!"
"Sara. I can't be ...healed anymore. They used... some type of poison. You're ...powers... would only get absorbed." He said with deep breaths in between.
I looked at him with devastation.
"This can't be."
He placed his hand on my cheek.
"Sa- Sara. Smile?"
I looked at him. Trying my best to give him the best smile I could give. Tears never left and continued to roll down my wet cheeks.
Ichiru smiled wider.
"I... like... this Sara... better."
I tried to give him a better smile. I lifted my hand up to place it on his hand. Before my hand even got close, I felt the warmness slowly fade away as his hand drops.
"ICHIRU!"
