Chapter 9

The "flat" as it was called was pretty damn big. It was two floors, the bottom having the kitchen, living room, an office for Elliot, and a library that Eli seemed very excited about. The second floor was three bedrooms and another two bedrooms. A room for Eli was already set up and decorated with sport stuff and had more video games than he had expected.

"He is never going to get out of the house." I stated as Elliot and I started to unpack our clothes.

"Yeah, well he wouldn't either way." He replied, and I nodded slowly. He handed me some shirts and I went to hang them up.

"Do you think that we will be able to have a family here?" I questioned, and he looked at me and smiled.

"Is this your way of telling me something?" he questioned, and I shook my head.

"No, it isn't. I just don't want you to be too busy and for that to cause us to not be able to have children of our own." I replied. He walked over and wrapped his arms around me.

"We can have as many babies as you want." He chuckled, and I blushed.

"Maybe one or two, but not a lot." I stated, and he nodded.

"Liv, I'm hungry." Eli spoke coming into our room. He hadn't talked to Elliot since we got off the plane.

"Alright. Um, let me get my coat, and maybe we can explore and find some food." I replied, and Eli nodded.

"I'll get mine too!" He exclaimed before running out. I turned to look at Elliot and he was frowning deeply.

"Babe, just give him time." I breathed, and he shrugged.

"Yeah. Um, I'm gonna head to the store and stock up on some food." Elliot breathed. I nodded slowly and grabbed my coat. I pulled it on before kissing him.

Eli and I found a pizza place and ordered a few huge slices before sitting down across from each other.

"So, how do you like it here?" I asked.

"It's really cold." He stated, and I chuckled.

"I know, but other than that. Do you like your room?" I asked, and he nodded.

"Yeah. I'm just glad that you came with us." He sighed, and I nodded.

"I wouldn't leave you behind, Eli." I stated, and he smiled.

"I didn't really know how to feel when you and Dad got together, but I'm glad."  He smiled.

"God, Eli. That means a lot." I breathed, and he laughed.

"I love you Liv." He stated, and I swallowed hard.

"I love you too, Eli." I replied. Eli joked around for a bit before the pizza came.

"Your son looks so much like you." The waitress spoke, and I started to speak, but Eli interrupted me.

"Thanks! At least I don't look like a troll." he teased, and I swallowed hard. We didn't even look alike, but at least if we did, he would be fine with it.

After Eli ate about half his body weight in pizza, we headed back to the apartment. When we got there, he went straight to the kitchen and walked back out with cookies that Elliot must have bought, and went to his room.

"How the hell does he have space for more food?" I asked Elliot as I entered the kitchen.

"He's a bottomless pit, Liv. How was dinner?" Elliot asked as he came over and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Good. I think he is actually happy that I'm his step mother." I replied, and he smiled.

"I'm glad, babe. I just hope he can get used to it here. I don't think Marcus is going to relocate us anytime soon." Elliot replied and I nodded slowly.

"I just don't want to be moving around all the time. I just want to have something steady for Eli and who ever comes along." I stated, and he smiled before kissing me.

"We'll be here for awhile. I promise."

On Monday, Elliot and I took Eli to his first day of school. Eli tried to tell us he would be fine, but this was completely different from his old school. Elliot and I held hands as we walked into the office.

"How can I help you?" An older woman asked.

"We are the Stablers, and this is our son, Eli." Elliot spoke, and she nodded before quickly finding a file.

"Ah, Elliot Stabler.  You are in year 8?" She questioned, and Eli looked at us with confusion.

"Yes, he is." I replied quickly, and Eli turned back to look at the woman.

"Alright, Elliot, take the stairs and head up to the fifth floor. Once there, you will find a room with a name plate with Mrs. Manus on it." She spoke, and Eli nodded.

"Can we take him?" Elliot questioned.

"I'm sorry, but parents are not allowed up there during school hours, unless they have a pass from the teacher or the principal, and I also need you two to fill out some papers." The woman replied. Elliot frowned but looked at Eli.

"Liv'll pick you up after school, don't talk back." Elliot spoke, and Eli nodded slowly before moving around him to hug me. I rubbed his back before holding him at arms length.

"If you need anything just call my cell, alright? And try and make friends." I spoke, and he nodded.

"I don't want to stay here." He breathed. I frowned.

"I know, Eli, but you have to go to school. It won't be that bad." I replied. I missed up his hair before he turned and walked out. I grabbed Elliot's hand again before helping him sign out the forums.

My first day at work was hard, and I really felt different from everyone else. I was just thankful that I worked for Elliot and someone else didn't. I had to find the filing room by myself, and then I could find the write papers for Elliot. 

"Are you supposed to be in here?" A woman who had long blonde hair and a short dress asked.

"Yes. I'm new." I breathed.

"Well, I'm Emma. Can I help you?"She questioned.

"I'm Olivia, and at this point, I don't know what I need." I sighed. She chuckled, and sighed.

"Who is your boss?" She asked.

"Elliot Stabler. He is one of the lawyers now." I replied.

"Well, why don't I help you find his office and then help you find the paper." She replied.

Maybe it wouldn't be so hard now. I at least had one person who didn't think I was just some random person. I knew it would be hard, but we all would get used to it.
